Why do you play table tennis?
Table Tennis: This game reminds me of my good old school days where I used to borrow a bat from one of my friend. Things changed pretty fast as my school Sports teacher recognized my talent (Compared to other folks in the school) and gave me coaching, within few months I was representing my school at KVS National Level Table Tennis matches held at Pune. I was ranked 1st in Cluster level 5th in Regional Level and lost in National level :(.Now in the midst of daily routine and busy life I get to play seldom, but given the opportunity I would like to play it daily because of the following reasons. This game improves your concentration power. It improves your reflex action.Hand eye coordination.Excellent body balance.Often I have encountered people who don’t play this game or have limited knowledge as telling it as the easiest game with not much attention to fitness level required, Sorry my friend you need a good fitness level to play a proper match involving topspin and smash. There are certain health benefits of playing this game like other sport: Burns calories, Good exercise for your joints etc.Speed of the ball, amount of turn and placement are very crucial in table tennis which executed precisely might reward you an point and to do all this you need all the above in short it develops mental acuity.TT is one such game were everyone want to try their luck: It offers a social outlet, good way for networking and meeting new people. Who knows you might find love of your life or you’r next boss.No age barrier. In the recent open tournament where I participated I saw an old person in his late 75s playing the tournament.Damn it you need to bend down every time to get that ball: It is believed approximately to get a TT ball you need to bend 11 times. Ideal case zero if you are a super hero. Isn’t that a good exercise??And the last reason TIME PASSSSSSSS. :P11 points for a game of 11 this is why one should play Table Tennis.
What's popular/trendy right now at your high/middle school? Are you following it aswell?
Middle school teacher perspective here. What's a popular trend right now at your school? For the “popular” girls: Practicing Tik Tok arm movements in the middle of class, practicing Tik Tok dance routines during recess, and trying to coordinate bathroom breaks with their friends so they can record Tik Tok videos in there. For the “regular” kids of both genders: Playing “Among Us” all evening, then talking about the previous evening’s games the next day. Also figuring out ways to incorporate “Among Us” themes into whatever it is they’re writing. It’s not as bad as Fortnite was two years ago… yet.For the “jocks”: Baseball. All things baseball. I think it’s playoff season for their travel leagues. I know that sometimes they don’t get home from games until 11pm or later. I know this because their parents email this information to me, as an excuse for them not doing their homework. They also tend to nod off a lot during class. Are you following the trend as well?Making Tik Tok videos? No. I have never once been on Tik Tok, nor do I have any desire to be. I’m only aware of what it is because of the memes I see about it and my students talking about it.I do play “Among Us” when I have a few minutes to spare. I never play with my students (it would cross a professional boundary) or anyone I know in real life. I just join random games from the lobby and play for a few minutes for fun. And it is fun. I recommend it.I haven’t followed professional baseball this year, or any year, really. The last time I paid any attention to it at all was in October of 2016 when the Cubs were in the playoffs. I am very much a bandwagon fan of whatever Chicago team happens to be close to winning the championship for their sport. I don’t play baseball, either… just catch with my son sometimes. I enjoy that… not the “catch” part, but the “reason to spend time with my son outside, away from screens, while he’s still willing to do that.”
As an autistic person, how are your reflexes?
Last time I had my reflexes tested (hammer to the knee) they were fine, I’ve never had a problem with neurological reflexes. If I drop something I tend to let it fall rather than catch it (butcher training, never try and catch anything as it might be a knife, have a hook in it, take a knife down with it as it falls etc.) but I’m working on that at home, so now when I drop a potato I try and catch it. I drop a lot of potatoes while I’m peeling them (me, uncoordinated?!).At school sports day I was the continual joke on the races (although it was good natured joshing) because the starter gun would fire, everyone else would have set off and be a good 10 metres away before I had managed to recognise the signal and set off, I’ve always been a couple of beats behind everyone else.If I’m really tuned in to the activity I can catch something thrown at me, but if I’m not expecting it then yes, it’s going to hit me and I won’t have had a chance to realise I need to catch it before it’s already on the floor.I’m dreadful at video games because I just don’t have the level of hand-eye coordination to act fast enough, but in other (more familiar and less time-sensitive) settings my hand-eye coordination can be quite good, especially if I am focusing my attention on it.
