Most of it has been automated already. Even things like deploying scalable web services and APIs have become easier owing to cloud computing platforms provided by Amazon, Google, Microsoft and others.

I can help with this one. I worked at Netscape as the UI Designer in the early days and we talked about the right link colors at the time. Blue was already in use, but we had an opportunity to change it... but to what? You have to remember that at the time the first browsers were coming out, Windows still regularly ran on hardware with 16-bit color displays on them. The 16-bit color palette was garish to say the least (see below).Looking at that palette, what would we pick? We needed a color that was readable when used for text: that kills yellow and pink and bright green and turquoise probably weren’t going to cut it either...Our choice also had to stand out against black text on a 25% gray background (the early browsers didn’t use a white background, they used 25% gray, which was pretty dark), which kills all the dark colors for links.We wanted to avoid red and green, partly because of color blindness issues, partly because they often have cultural meaning associated with them, and partly because they were so loud. That pretty much left blue, plus of course violet to show visited links.I'm not sure what else we could have picked.
