PDF Editor FAQ

Heroes: Has anyone ever literally saved the world?

Saved the planet? No. You can slam an asteroid the size of Boston into the planet, killing every land animal with a body mass over a few kilograms, and the planet will serenely continue on its way.Saved entire swaths of the human population on the planet? Yes.Meet Norman Borlaug. When this man won the Nobel Peace Prize, he was directly and personally credited with saving the lives of more than a billion people. He got his doctorate in plant pathology, then immediately went to some of the poorest places in the world. He lived for decades in a small shack with a dirt floor while he worked to create new breeds of crops that could be grown in some of the most inhospitable places on earth. He singlehandedly started the Green Revolution, preventing what would otherwise have been the largest mass starvation in human history. Billions of people owe him their lives, and yet most people have never heard of him.I don't much cotton to the idea of “heroes” - so don't often use the word hero, but this man is a genuine hero.I also don't delete comments that aren't spam and to date have never blocked anyone on Quora, but I will say now that any well-fed motherfucker who comments that he should have let those people starve will be deleted and blocked. Got no time for that kind of smug evil.

What is the most unreasonable request/demand that you've seen on an invitation to a wedding or event?

My cousin's wedding. They sent a save the date before the invites. As the date got closer, I messaged her to see when invites were coming so I could RSVP. I was worried mine got lost in the mail. I was informed that they decided to just have a small Vegas wedding, with only 10 people invited because of money problems. No judgment here. Until the following week, when they sent everyone that was NOT invited a notice that they were going to Vegas, with a request for gifts, and only gifts that were on the registry.Oh sure, let me just go buy you a $500 mixer to celebrate a wedding that I wasn't invited to. Hard pass.

Have you ever been to a wedding where the bride told everyone to wear a certain color, even though understandably many may not have complied?

Yes, my cousin’s wedding save the date card came with very detailed instructions on what people were to wear. Men were to wear black or navy slacks, black shoes and socks, a white button up long sleeved shirt and any tie of their choosing so long as it was a solid color, women were to wear navy, black or burgundy dresses that were knee length or longer and must have at least a cap sleeve and no extreme additions (beading, fringe, appliques, etc) she even sent reference pictures. Oh, and women had to have closed toed shoes as well (heels or flats didn’t matter) and nylons were an absolute must! Make up and jewelry was also to be kept modest and tasteful. At the wedding women were issued scarves to wear over their heads (about the size of a handkerchief) Nearly no one complied and the bride was crushed. The rules were not hers but that of the church where they were being married (I for the life of me cannot remember what religion her husband is) Her expectations were thought to be extreme by so many people that they went out of their way to not follow her “dress-code” showing up in scarlet red bondage dresses and lime green suits. Nearly all of her guests were turned away. And they all blamed the bride, not themselves. She’d given plenty of notice (her save the dates went out almost a year before the actual invitations, and even contained a small insert explaining the reason behind the dress code) If the request is simple enough and won’t put the guest in any kind of hardship, just follow her requests. It’s her day, not yours to show off. (By her, I mean the couples of course, I’ve known more than one groom-zilla)

People Trust Us

Very good program with all options for conversion. Simple, easy to use. The feature to merge all videos is especially nice for things like series. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because doing multiple video conversions creates a lag taking much longer to convert.
