Monthly Student Progress Report: Fill & Download for Free

This is why we spend so much time documenting everything… Not because our administrators want to read it all, but because we and our administrators want to be prepared for parents like this. Some parents come in to parent/teacher conferences like lawyers cross-examining a witness, and we have to make sure all of our stories are correct and well-documented.The most common complaint from adversarial parents is some variation of: “we didn’t know this was happening, and it’s your fault that we didn’t know. You need to communicate better with us.”That’s why I do most of my official communicating with parents via email; it’s easy to prove that I did my part and let them know what was happening. We also put grades and assignments online. If a student fails a class, and the parent claims they didn’t know how bad it was, we can quickly shift the blame on them for not checking grades online and not responding to emails.I’ve never had a parent try the “we don’t have internet at home” excuse, but, if they did, we can remind them that we also send notes and progress reports home when there’s a problem. The most adversarial parents are the ones who don’t respond to those. If your kid isn’t giving you the things we send home, and you’re not responding to emails, we try calling home. We have to document that, too: every time we called, if we got ahold of someone, and what we talked about if we did.Documentation. It’s all about protecting yourself.A few years ago, we had a parent try the “I check my child’s grades online all of the time, and they were passing everything. I don’t understand how they failed everything on the report card!” This was an important report card, because it was what the high schools used for admittance. We pulled up the online grade book and showed the parent that it keeps track of how often they log on, and that they hadn’t logged on to check their child’s grades in almost six months. We also showed them over a dozen sent emails to them warning them that their child was missing work and their grades were going down.The parent looked shocked that we were so easily able to refute their story, but they still insisted it was our fault for “not communicating with them,” and that their child should be allowed to make-up all of the missing work from the previous grading period and have a report card re-printed.We ended up giving the child a packet of make-up work, which never got done.

Montessori Schools Report Student ProgressBecause Montessori believes in individually paced academic progress, most schools do not assign letter grades or rank students within each class according to their achievement. Student progress, however, is measured in different ways, which may include:Student Self-Evaluations: At the elementary level, students will often prepare a monthly self-evaluation of the past three months work: what they accomplished, what they enjoyed the most, what they found most difficult, and what they would like to learn in the three months ahead. When completed, they will meet with the teachers, who will review it and add their comments and observations.Portfolios of Student Work: In many Montessori schools, two or three times a year, teachers (and at the elementary level, students) and parents go through the students? completed work and make selections for their portfolios.Student/Parent/Teacher Conferences: Once the students? three-month self-evaluations are complete, parents, students, and teachers will hold a family conference two or three times a year to review their children's portfolios and self-evaluations and go through the teachers assessment of their children's progress.Narrative Progress Reports: In many Montessori schools, once or twice a year, teachers prepare a written narrative report discussing each student?s work, social development, and mastery of fundamental skills.

Every PhD student has to submit a progress report to his supervisor to let him (the supervisor) know what the student has so far done . Usually the progress report has to be submitted at every six months. You have to write a brief report of what you have so far done including the literature review, methodology, results and discussion and conclusion. Then the supervisor will be able to see if your research is going on the right direction and advise the student to make any changes of the research program if there is any.
