I joined NPCIL in 2018. So, I can tell you my training program. It might change in future a bit.The whole 1 year training program is divided into 4 modules and comprises of a total of 4000 marks. Based on the total marks, posting will be decided. The competition is branchwise.Module 1 (1st aug 2018 to 1 nov 2018, 1400 marks) -> Completely classroom basedIt was conducted in Powai Mumbai. All accommodation and food facilities were provided by NPCIL. This 3 months of training is about basics of nuclear physics and different engg disciplines. An overview of all the different types of reactors like PHWR 220W, PHWR 540W, PHWR 700W, FBR, AHWR, LWR and BWR.Diwali holidays (1st nov 2018 to 18th nov 2018)Module 2 (18th nov 2018 to 27th feb 2019, 1400 marks) -> Classes will be there with visits to control room, turbine building, reactor building, nearby Dhanu Thermal Power Station, BARC and othersAfter 1st module, remaining training will take place in Tarapur. This part of the training will be completely based on PHWR 540W plant. Flow sheets of all the systems in the plant will be covered in detail.
