I use Tiddlywiki - a reusable non-linear personal web notebook. And I love it. You download a single html file - no software installation - and it has all the features of a wiki. Its very intuitive, the learning curve is easy - I gave up trying to setup and use mediawiki, but I'm very comfortable with Tiddlywiki. Advanced features may exist, but I've never really needed them.If you are in a hurry, just write text. If you have time on your hands and want to get fancy, you can add images, latex, mathjax, what not. If you need to create a tex-pdf at a later date, you just copy-paste from your notes on Tiddlywiki.Being a simple html file, it works on anything that has a browser. It isn't tied to any OS. There are a gazillion apps now on the play store so I'm just going to mention those which would appeal to a lot of people rather than those interested in apps meant for specific purposes. These are in no particular order and across all categories.1. FlipboardThis is perhaps the one app that everyone should have. This app pushes information on what you need from where you need it. Be it news , technology , videos , photography while also fetching stuff from your Twitter and Facebook and organises them into this neat magazine noir interface which is a treat to use. Definitely check it out.2. VodioThis is like flipboard for videos. This app fetches videos from not only your YouTube subscription but also various sources or categories that you can choose. This is great if you love to watch a lot of videos. Just like flipboard it automatically pulls in videos from around the web and presents them in a slick interface. Must have.3. MusixmatchThis is a great replacement to the stock music app. It does all the usual stuff like organising playlists etc. Where it excels is in having a built in music identifier. Also gives you the lyrics of the tracks in real time. Provides you with suggestion on related songs and artists and videos from YouTube. It has a decent user interface. However you do require network connection for lyrics and YouTube suggestions.4. Camera 360This is a great camera and editing app for android and yes it does take great selfies too. Quick and easy tweaking and slick interface. With an in app purchase you can unlock a lot more content like extra filters and presets. I found it particularly useful for selfies and portraits.5. GaanaThis is a must have especially in India and countries where we can't have spotify and pandora. Online music streaming and online radio. No one does it better and yes I have tried saavn.6. PayTMThis is your one stop app for all mobile online payments and recharges. Very intuitive and dependable. You will never go to a ship for mobile or DTH recharge.7. EvernoteThis is the best note taking app across all platforms , period.Audio logs , pdf annotations , shared notebooks , voice to text , it's all there and readily usable. This is one app I use on a daily basis. A must have for students.8. TripAdvisor & CleartripWell these two apps in conjunction deal with almost all the aspects of planning a trip. Right from booking a flight or train to checking out hotels and places to visit. It's all there.9. Wolfram AlphaConsider this to be an intelligent search engine which is capable of analysing data including but not limited to mathematical equations. For instance if you require for some weird reason to know what was the temperature on the day when John f Kennedy was assassinated , you just enter the question directly and you shall get your answer and then some.10. QuoraIf you are reading this online , get the app. It will help you keep in touch with the best things internet has to offer these days more conveniently.
