Could poverty be solved by the wealthy if they wanted to?
I believe the answer is YES, because I don’t see money as the answer. For me, the answer lies in the minds of our youth. It’s there to be found, if only we would ask them to search for it. If only we were willing to put school indoctrination aside and move toward a “what you need” skill based system. Humanity is in trouble if climate change is true and we do nothing to prepare for it.This of course will never happen, because it would take the incentive away for spending money which must be earned. In order to earn it, you have to be squeezed into a square hole and no thought dare be placed on tomorrow. For the rich, your money is there money, just waiting to be spent, not wasted on doing good or doing right. We must break this mold!If children were shown the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), researched the truth behind the 17 goals, then have the opportunity to search for some small answers within the goals, the solutions could be found, one small step at a time. If we provided a means for them to work in teams with other children, who through the internet, could be on the other side of the world, no answer is impossible. If we also ask adults to help them solve problems, we add experience to the search. Tools like the one we’re using now would allow them to publicly ask for answers and anyone could give it. Document the projects in a WIKI to ensure that everything learned is in the public domain for all to benefit from.I believe we could accomplish all this without even completely changing our schools. I created a virtual club to spread exactly this word, it’s called the Global Goals club. @GlobalGoalsClub If every school were to open a branch of the club and ask kids to join in, explain why it’s so vital and how exactly the goals could change the world, inexpensive, simple solutions would be the result. At this link I documented a simple drip irrigation system which runs automatically for up to 4 weeks without human intervention. Gravity fed drip irrigation, semi-automated I also give simple examples there of how this system could be improved and/or made at little cost. I give the idea to children to recreate and change, to experiment with in any way they want, to use the imaginations God gave them to better our world.Further I believe that the world is so full of plastic waste, cluttering our waterways and killing our natural resources, that it must be seen as a raw material, not as garbage to be burned. The poor could be paid a small fee to collect, sort, wash and grind the plastic to make into simple useful things which would be given to the poor to use. If we could create a gardens simple enough that any child could use it, while providing work for parents where all products are given freely to the poor, it would allow families to nourish children, allow the children to go to school, it would break the cycle of poverty, without any great expense. It would clean mother nature, provide work and be put to a use which fixes problems, not filling pockets with money. The excuse that the poor are too lazy is a generalisation which should be ignored. The solutions must be in the places where the poor live, the people must feel ownership of the solutions in order for them to be accepted. Which parent isn’t proud of their child when they become more than anyone ever imagined possible. Einstein once said “Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.” The next Einstein may even be among the poor, waiting to be discovered.I’ve heard over and over again the the world could change if only someone would begin, well I have begun and I encourage you to begin as well. Spread the word, talk to teachers and friends, especially talk to children, simply talk to anyone who will listen. The answers are waiting to be found, the 17 goals are guides to world peace, it’s up to us to be the change. Maybe if we found the solutions and could produce them without the rich, we would force their hand into helping. The UN issued an invitation to us to join in this search, find the Zero Hunger Challenge here: Zero Hunger ChallengeThe club was based on this challenge and encourages you to be a part of it. To this end, we made the club simple, without actual membership, no fees, no expenses. We accept no money, we do it because it’s the right thing to do.The Global Goals ClubWe asks 3 simple things of anyone willing to join the search:Give 1 hour per week of your time in helping work toward the solutions. You may already be fulfilling this one. It’s only 52 hours spread over a year.Pay a monthly “solidarity fee” equivalent to approximately $1.00 to the World Food Programme (WFP) a UN group already on the frontline of helping.Talk about it! If we want to be the change we need to motivate the masses. Every single person on earth must hear about us! They’ll never begin if they don’t know we exist. We ask the UN to see each payment as a vote of solidarity with the poor and needy. We ask them to publish a monthly vote count and to open the books in the internet on all money which goes in or out of this fund. It must be ensured that NO ONE makes a profit from this money! Only with open accounting of the money given in solidarity can we prove that this is no hoax. All this and more could be achieved by our youth, if only someone would join me. Is there not a single person willing to take a chance on an idea which could see the reduction, if not the end of so much suffering in our world?I admit that marketing is not my strength! I admit that there may be a better way to go about this, but I see this club as a neutral grounds, where only the elimination of inequality and above all, suffering are our guideposts. We believe we see a light at the end of the tunnel, we’re moving toward it.The club needs you now, the poor beg to be helped, Mother Nature would beg you if she could, future generations may judge you for your decision today, please don’t turn away.Get out of your chair, look in the mirror and ask that person if they are someone. You may be amazed at the answer you’ll get.
