It's A Plane... It's Supermobile!"Oy. In this story, the Earth is bombarded by red sun radiation powerful enough to activate the deadly (but badly-dressed) super-android threat, Amazo. Said radiation also rendered the Man of Steel powerless and no more interesting than his alter ego Clark Kent.The Silver Age Superman was an adaptable fellow and decided (perhaps because of his earlier experience or perhaps because of a new toy deal DC Comics was involved in with Corgi in 1979) he decides to create a new Supermobile complete with technology capable of replicating his superpowers.And arms. Because what does every car want but the ability to punch villains in the face. Suck it, KITT. (Who coincidentally appears in his first television show in 1982). Coincidence?Did I mention the Supermobile was composed of the rare material, Supermanium, the hardest metal known in the universe. Somehow derived from the matter found in the heart of super-dense stars, it was reputedly as indestructible as Superman himself. (Please don’t ask me how he made a car out of it, he’s Silver Age Superman! He could do anything he wanted to.)Fortunately, we were not subjected to the Supermobile for more than a couple of issues. The Supermobile goes up against Amazo in Action #482 and by the end of the issue, the red-sun radiation wave has passed.The Supermobile was retired, presumably to the Fortress of Solitude, hidden behind the Phantom Zone Projector and the Superman Robots, never to be seen again.If we were lucky. But it turns out, we weren’t.The Supermobile would appear again in the much beloved Super Friends (1973-1986) television series on a number of occasions.An Easter Egg in the season three Brave and the Bold episode called “Battle of the Superheroes” also pokes fun at the Supermobile, giving it a Lex Luthor paint job and pitting it against the Man of Steel, whose guest-starring in the episode.The Super-gift that keeps on giving, decade after decade after decade…Yes, Virginia, there was a Supermobile and no one on the DC Staff is ever going to let us forget it.

(Still, I consider myself lucky enough to get in through 2018 itself and not be a part of whatever happened in NEET 2019.)Let me rewind my 1st Year Memory Camera and list down the 'pretty happinings'Physiology Attendance 1st Semester : When the attendance sheet was hung out on the Dept. Notice Board, we all ran with a fear within ourselves, “75% lag jaye bass!” When I looked for the percentage mentioned alongside my roll no., it stated a whooping 95%. I was perplexed for a moment, double checked my Roll No. itself. The thing is, I didn't even attend 70% of the classes, and as far as Proxies are concerned, didn't expect the tally to reach 95. Anyways, it's still a mystery for me and I would like to thank all my friends, enemies, professors, animals, aliens or any other extra terrestrial living organism whosoever gave my proxies.Practicing Physio Practicals on Mom and Dad : The Best feeling ever ❤️. Except for the Hemat Prac. revisions, I practiced each and every prac at my home, my subjects being Mom and Dad. Although I was a 1st Year student, whenever I performed the Auscultation of heart sounds and lungs, tendon jerks, cranial nerve tests there would be slight glitter in their eyes and a *trying to hide smile* which ofcourse was evident. I didn’t say anything intentionally, just enjoyed looking at their face.The Festember : Our Annual College Fest is generally held during the month of September and hence the name 'Festember'. We name it Ecstasy. Passing a entire sleepless night (not being inside a book) in the College premises just enjoying the beautiful harmony of emotions. Last year, our special guest was Armaan Malik, and we had a pretty good time dancing and singing to his songs. As for this year, we are having the one and only Sonu Nigam. Looking forward to a jolly time ahead ❤️.Bunking Classes : A simple rule, if you don't bunk your classes, then you are no College Student. And as far as Kolkata is concerned, there's no dearth of places to visit. Whenever we weren't in a mood to attend the lectures, we would catch a bus and go anywhere where we could sit, gossip and click wierd pics. Having said that, I never ever missed any of my Practical classes and would like to advice my juniors the same.Helping Patients : Ofcourse we weren't posted in any of the Dept., neither did we have any Wards in 1st Year. But the only help we could provide was to guide the the patients to the correct Department be it Hematology, Biochemistry, Forensics or for MRI/CT-Scan. It hardly takes a minute to read their OPD Ticket or even listen to their plea and help them out. I still remember, once an old lady (might be in her 70s) searching for the Med. Store was frantically asking out for help. Upon knowing the reason, I took the lady's hand and could feel them shaking. Took her to the Med. Store and saw her Smile 😊. She blessed me and then went on with her convo with the person at the desk. The blessing actually made my day ❤️.Histology Practical File : I was an unwilling Painting student who took up the extra activity of Painting on my Mom's decision and had completed till 4th year. Though being unwilling, my base was quite clear and this actually helped me in drawing my histology diagrams. That's a different thing that even after doing a huge hardwork, I still revieved a “Re-Do” on the Liver's Slide. But what actually made me happy was the “Excellent” marked on the index during my Diagram of Spongy Bone. Won't be bragging, but I actually stood in the limelight for a time period 🙈.Mass Bunk : We acheived this feat within 2 months of our college life that too when we had an exam scheduled during this period. The Mass Bunk was nearly of 3–4 days, I guess. It wasn't actually our fault, try being a Bengali and not receiving a holiday between Mahalaya and the commencement of Durga Puja holidays. Although we were successful in our Total Mass Bunk of 250 students but we had to pay the price. The Biochemistry Dept. (the Dept. whose exam we flunked) failed each and every student and even printed the result sheet and placed it in the Notice Board. I ain't goofing, still have the proof…The irony was, although we had failed, but there was simply no sign of regret 😂. The batch was busy making memes keeping the result sheet as template.And last but not the least,My love for Novels and Story Books 😍😍I was supposed to buy a QnA book of 1st Year MBBS for the University Exam preparations priced at Rs.500. Even went to buy the book, but somehow while I was passing through the busy streets of College Street, I came across a small store selling second hand novels, each at Rs.100. I still don't regret my decision of buying 5 novels at Rs. 450 (after bargaining), instead of the QnA book.(For those who don't know about College Street, it is one of the best places of Kolkata. There are stores dealing with new and second hand books of all forms, starting from JEE/NEET Preps, MBBS, Engg., Novels and what not. A booklover's Paradise, to be precise.)Try making your moments “Best” instead of waiting for one.Peace Out ☮️
