What is the legal status of the Vergina Sun?

There are lots of claims regarding the legal status of the Vergina Sun symbol but they are backed up by little or no documentation. By following the available hints and searching some online databases, such as the Greek National Printing House I found the following information:In 1994 Greece passed this law (ΦΕΚ A 67/1995) which assigned the exclusive rights to the symbol in question to the MAKEDONIAN PRESS AGENCY, a news corporation owned by the Greek state. I do not know if the law has been superseded or annulled in more recent years. In the 1995 Greece and Macedonia signed the Interim Accord between the Hellenic Republic and the FYROM which in Article 7 prohibited the use of the Vergina Sun symbol by the state of Macedonia. This agreement is still in effect as far as I know so it's clear that Macedonia as a state cannot use this symbol. Also in 1995 Greece obtained protection of the Vergina Sun as a state emblem based on Article 6ter of the Paris Convention for the Protection of Industrial Property. Here are the WIPO circulars: GR1, GR2, and GR3. Macedonia objected of course so, according to the guidelines in Note f of paragraph 6ter in the WIPO treaty guide, this means that Macedonia the state is not obliged to protect these particular symbols and forbid their use by persons in it's territory. There is a common claim that the symbol is a national state symbol by law in Greece. Unfortunately I haven't managed to find the exact law or decree which designates it as a national symbol, but I have found this 2013 ruling against a private company in Greece which desired to use the symbol in it's logo. The company's application was denied by the State with the reasoning that the symbol is a state symbol and cannot be used by private entities. So it seems almost certain that there was some decision regarding the status of the Vergina Sun as a state symbol but this might have happened sometime other than the period 1993-1995 for which I searched. In any case it seems clear that some decision was made and that Greece continues to enforce it domestically. So, while the Greek state (and it's corporations) can use the symbol, it is illegal for a Greek private company to use this symbol. Also from what I have read there was a proposed law in Macedonia that would prohibit the symbol's use by private entities but the law wasn't passed. So in conclusion:the signatory states to the WIPO treaty cannot use the symbol, neither can private entities in these countries. Macedonia would be an exception but..... the Macedonian state cannot use the symbol since it agreed to this by signing the interim accord. However..Macedonian businesses may use the symbol, since Macedonia objected to Greece's WIPO application and is therefore not obliged to restrict it's use domestically. But..ironically, Greek businesses cannot use the symbol since Greek law forbids the use of state symbols by private entities.

What is Stokes’ law?

Stokes’s law, mathematical equation that expresses the settling velocities of small spherical particles in a fluid medium. The law, first set forth by the British scientist Sir George G. Stokes in 1851, is derived by consideration of the forces acting on a particular particle as it sinks through a liquid column under the influence of gravity. The force acting in resistance to the fall is equal to 6πrηv, in which r is the radius of the sphere, η is the viscosity of the liquid, and v is the velocity of fall. The force acting downward is equal to 4/3πr3 (d1 - d2)g, in which d1 is the density of the sphere, d2 is the density of the liquid, and g is the gravitational constant. At a constant velocity of fall the upward and downward forces are in balance. Equating the two expressions given above and solving for v therefore yields the required velocity, expressed by Stokes’s law as v = 2/9(d1 - d2)gr2/η.Whattt!!!! Wait … ahhhhh then the applications….Stokes’s law finds application in several areas, particularly with regard to the settling of sediment in fresh water and in measurements of the viscosity of fluids. Because its validity is limited to conditions in which the motion of the particle does not produce turbulence in the fluid, however, various modifications have been set forth. And coming to a very brief statement..The force of viscosity on a small sphere moving through a viscous fluid is given by:Fd = 6πηRvwhere:Fd is the frictional force – known as Stokes' drag – acting on the interface between the fluid and the particleη is the dynamic viscosity (some authors use the symbol μ)R is the radius of the spherical objectv is the flow velocity relative to the object. In SI units, Fd is given in newtons, η in Pa·s, R in meters, and v in m/s.Stokes's law makes the following assumptions for the behavior of a particle in a fluid:>Laminar Flow>Spherical particles>Homogeneous (uniform in composition) material>Smooth surfacesParticles do not interfere with each other.Note that for molecules Stokes's law is used to define their Stokes radius. The CGS unit of kinematic viscosity was named "stokes" after his work.

What filler do we use to weld SA-423 material?

Low alloy Steel Electrodes, AWS A5.5, Type, E7018G is very near to the properties of ASTM A423, Gr1 and Gr2. So, E7018G can be used.A423 is low alloy steel tubes for seamless and electric-resistance welded, low-alloy steel tubes for pressure containing parts such as economizers or other applications where corrosion resistance is important.
