How many people have died from being shot while hunting? To my knowledge, not many. Thousands of people, men, women, children go hunting every single year, and not a single “mass shooting” or other such event has happened to hunters. Same with gun shows. When everyone is armed, no one is going to try anything. So how does gun control benefit hunters? Actually, who are you to tell me what my best interests are? I’m pretty sure I know more about myself then some random person on Quora who’s never seen me. You have no right to decide what someones “best interests” are. Unless you’re a doctor telling someone that if they keep smoking they’ll die. But that’s beside the point.In summary, you have no right deciding anyone else’s “best interests.”

It is not mandatory, but is really helpful to everyone concerned. I found new perspectives being at the delivery room about three months ago for the birth of our son.Some benefits:Get much more physical bonding with the child: A generation ago, fathers had very little role in raising a young infant. Father's role came only in the toddler age. Such a sexist thing was unfavorable to both men and women. Now, fathers could take a much more deeper role that allows the women to recover faster and the child to form more bonding. Modern fathers no longer want to take a backseat role.Birthing need not be a lonely experience: The delivery room was very large and for the most time it had just 1 nurse. Even that nurse was often gone. It would have been very scary if my wife had to go through all this alone. I also attended all the birthing classes, something that was quite uncommon a generation ago.Too important event to be missed: Birth of the child is among the most significant events in life. It is a shame if the husband has to sit that out. Taking the child right after it is out and cutting its cord was an experience I didn't want to miss. Since my wife was too exhausted she didn't remember much that time and uses my memory to relive that moment.Understand the pain of birthing: Men have always known the pain of childbirth, but until you see the blood and gore, you don't fully feel how deadly it is. Being in the delivery room helps one see his wife from a different perspective and see the time of her biggest strength. It is a humbling experience.Give mental & physical support to the mother: Husband knows about his wife better than the nurses and also is more intimate. The Important Role Fathers Play In The Delivery Room This allows for mother to relax better and also get more involved in physical exercises. I was asked to make a call on whether to go for a Caesarean and being there I was a little more informed than I would have been otherwise. It all depends on how intimate the couple is though and could easily backfire if the wife is not comfortable with the husband - Fathers in delivery room could make pain of childbirth worse, study suggestsUltimately, let the mother and OB-GYN decide if you could be there and if either of the two feel your presence less helpful gracefully stay out. But, if they don't have an issue, look to be a part of the team even if you are the least important person in the room.

There seems to be quite a few of us on Quora. I have no interest in superiority. For me, that means not just accepting the forward momentum that humanity has managed to achieve in regards to female progression and continuing to push forward, but also systematically dismantling the system that in some instances benefits or benefitted women.I want every one of whatever gender to be seen as equal and In order to achieve something closer to true equality, we have to sacrifice what few benefits the previous (mostly patriarchal) culture condescended to give women. I’d like to see:In a relationship break up, the children go to whomever is most fit and able to take care of them. Gender be damned.Dump all expectations that one sex supports the other. (What individuals do or agree on in a relationship is none of my business but the imaginary ‘ideal’ that men support women needs to be dismembered).Males are not required to pay for dates.In the event that there’s a draft (military conscription) women should make up 50% of that number or ultimately, conscription should be dumped.Where women are convicted of molestation, statutory rape, or even just assault, they should face and receive exactly the same jail time as men would.If a woman punches someone in the face, she should expect to get punched back, regardless of the gender of the punched. And then she should get arrested for assault.Yes, men do get sexually assaulted by women → those charges should be taken seriously and the women given the same jail time as a male would in that instance. Gender be damned. Sexual predators are sexual predators.(This is probably the opinion that’s going to see me 🔥burned🔥 at the stake): Some men aren’t ready to be fathers the same way that some women aren’t ready to be mothers. Men (or people) should not be able to force a woman to be a mother and by the same token, men shouldn’t be forced to be fathers. They should have the ability to legally reject any and all forms of responsibility and rights to a conceived child, similar to adoption or sperm donation. (Yes there would be a lot of rules and requirements, issues, situations and problems to deal with before something like that could become a reality but the fundamental point remains).Where there’s an obvious discrepancy in the treatment of the sexes, it needs to be corrected. Realigning these matters is pretty critical to feminist credibility and campaigning for equal treatment while not addressing the areas where females may have advantages, smacks of hypocrisy and we ultimately need to address it. Supporting women does not mean oppressing men.I don’t want special treatment.I don’t give a flying f*ck about manspreading or whatever (Side note: people who hog extra space are just a$$holes), I think that’s all white noise - there are still areas that definitely need some work and we all need to work towards it.Feminism kind of lost its way and focus for while because so much time and attention was given to people who were banging on about (what I consider) minutiae. But there’s been a backlash against those who were using the banner of feminism to punish all men for what they considered infractions but there does seem to be a far more pragmatic feminist culture taking hold again that has no time or patience for nonsense.I’ll watch with interest to see what happens but I’ll continue to campaign for equality of the sexes → for both men and women.Let the rocks fly.
