Walmart Pharmacy Records Request: Fill & Download for Free

I suppose they have a “right” to override or not fill a prescription if, in their professional opinion, dispensing a medication could cause harm to the patient.However, in the last few weeks Walmart, has implemented new policies/procedures whereby their pharmacists now request addition clinical information (i.e. chart records, paperwork, etc) and then determine —on their own— whether on not a prescription is appropriate. In my opinion, this is empowering the pharmacist with the same level of decision making as a physician. Pharmacy trumps doctor.I’ve had several longstanding patients denied their medications (and thus go into withdrawal and/or suffer consequences of not being on their meds) because a Walmart pharmacist basically felt the medication was not appropriate.There is a difference between appropriateness and comfort level. Just like doctors, some are more comfortable than others with managing certain conditions — pain, mental health, etc.. Just because a pharmacist isn’t comfortable dispensing a medicine, doesn’t mean the medicine shouldn’t be dispensed if indeed it was the best treatment option for the individual patient.Walmart pharmacists are also “profiling” patients that their pharmacist deem high risk and black listing them. Yes, my patient with a tattoo’s seeking to fill a pain med was denied.There may be a case for a class action suit against Walmart if their current policies violate the Americans with Disabilities Act (denying medical treatment) and/or HIPPA (requesting medical records to make a determination of clinical necessity) — probably not, since it is politically incorrect to advocate for the patient in today’s day and age.

They’re not being deliberately mean. They have limited support staff to handle non-medical stuff like this, and stuff falls between the cracks sometime, You should also know they don’t get paid for any of this either. It wouldn’t be uncommon for your Dr. to have 3000 patients, so even a tiny fraction needing forms really adds up.If it’s really urgent, appear in person with the form and see if they can do it immediately, then fax it or walk to to the pharmacy yourself. Make an appointment if you have to.And as Lisa mentioned in her answer, just pay cash for it if the medicine is cheap. You should always be checking cash vs. insurance prices for prescription drugs anyway, especially against competitive pharmacies like Walmart or Costco,And for the record. prior authorization for relatively common Rx drugs is evil, and basically your insurer saying they know better than your Dr.

Walmart has really bottom of the barrel employees all over their stores. ( Now the managers and some of the employees are indeed awesome and it sucks they are gonna get lumped in with the 8 time felon who feels it's ok to carry on a conversation in front of guests as loud as he or she wants,using the f word many,many times even while the mother with her young children are attempting to shop .I'm a single guy so I am not gonna say it hurts my feelings but when I look at the family shoppers and elderly folks faces as the employee who finds it more important to talk to his co-workers about the BIT#H HE FU#@$D IN THE A#S and how he hates.white mother FUck*#$ and how they always be talking him to put his mutha F#$Ki! Mask on cause he aints gotta do sh$#t. Meanwhile the co- worker is just as bad and so on. This is an encounter I observed last summer. I got his name which took some doing as he didn't have any name tag on. Hos co- worker did so I kinda was shopping with a friend and I had all of my items deodorant, and razors, lightbulbs whole the friend was grocery shopping. Walmarts only perk is how cheap the groceries are I suppose. They suck at literally everything else accept toiletries, and light bulbs. I bought a tv or two from em as well and one Friday the 13th jason voorhees figure cause I never saw such an item at walmart. (Hahaha) they are carrying records now for some reason. The titles are not so hot and the prices are high. Anyways I made a point of following this dude around as he broke off and went to go elsewhere. He was a slacker..he walked slow and in no set direction. A woman saw hisask hanging off his face and requested he properly wear it. I heard her say her husband was currently in the hospital with covid and he had been there for a month. He looked at her and his exact words to her were “Fuck you white bitch I don't give a mutha fucking shit about your fucking husband”. She was floored by his comment as was I. She looked as if she was going to just break down crying. He went on his way so I approched.the woman who in her late 50’s or early 60’s. I said I heard that and let's see a manager. She looked at me and just seemed so sad. I asked her of she wanted to play hard ball and file a curse and abuse charge against him. The poor womam wasn't being mean or a jerk when she made her request to the employee who did this. He is a stocker but watches coworkers do his job. He is not a lead or a manager or anything more then a lazy employee. At times he wears head phones and raps the lyrics that are explicit out loud. I get stockers are not the primary customer service reps but we'll this store lacks the helpful types and customer service is extremely low on the things of importance. The managers are usually hidden. Btw the woman and I found an assistant manager and he seemed less then helpful. We ask for any other manager but he stayed he was it for the day. He didn't do anything. These guys make nice money and I notice they are not promoted from within employees but more then likely college grads around 26 years old. They are too green and chicken to take control of their teams. Anyways this is a large reason Walmart is sucky. Customer service. Cleanliness. Lack of experience. Foul mouth hooligans working the floor. Shootings in parking lots. Yes this location had a shooting with a DOA and is so not in a bad area. It's a very pleasant area. Lack of stock. Stores being so different the one another as one carries this and that while the next does not. One store is clean and the other s are filthy. Target has great customer service. I've never been ignored at target. The only thing I don't like about target is the smell in a lot of their stores. I used to get my scripts there and the bottles would even smell of the store and make me gag. It's not rotton food or filth, it's like the funky cardboard smell is the best way I can describe it. Target is very squeaky clean. Higher end foods. I could go on and on but I will leave on this walmarts pharmacy sucks too. It's cool if you have 3 hours to kill for one script to fill. Has anyone watched career opportunities with the target from the way back in the day featured in it? Oh yeah Los Angeles says no way to Walmart but has a nice Target. Oh yeah 🎯 prices are not cutting throats of anyone and everyone they are able to. Oh yeah never get dipped into buying a sam's club membership. Trust me it's the same crap same prices and I never bought a thing. Oh but you can go in early if you a business member. What is the difference walmart is 24 hours already (at that time anyways) So aside from the pharmacy which you don't have to have a membership for anyways which I am unsure if this is wholesale prices or not cause like I said I was so dissatisfied I left. I bought one for the business and used it one time . Costco is worth the buck though for a membership store. Walmart you seem to suck more and more. Many rural folks are forced to shop at these superstores. Oh yeah the main reason walmart sucks so hard is they have shopping carts that are in horrible condition. Take a Target cart for a stroll and it's like your driving a brand new BMW compared to walmarts carts feeling like an out of line ford escort that's been in a destruction derby…
