The question was - What does the phrase "According to my movie spreadsheet" mean?Without any context, I can only assume that the speaker of that phrase actually keeps records of the movies they own on a spreadsheet. I am saying ‘own' because I did that once to keep track of the videotapes and DVDs we had bought and made it to cut down on rental requests. (And if we had loaned one out...)_ It could just as easily be about movie facts, keeping track of what they have seen.Thanks for the A2A.

They will try to authorize your card before renting the card and if it fails then they wouldn’t process the rental request.. usually rental companies try to authorize the card for 150$ to 250$ additional amount than the rental price to ensure that the rental company can charge the rental amount on a later date.

I run Last Minute Gear, so let me give a little of the context for why and then answer your question.With an on-demand service like Last Minute Gear, it is so easy to say the more last minute your rental request is, the more I charge you. We could easily be Uber. But then in doing that, in extracting maximum willingness-to-pay (speaking like an economist) to maximize profits (speaking like an ex-consultant), we'd be pricing people out of the markets, which is terrible and goes against our mission to broaden access to the outdoors (speaking like a human being). Because, let's be honest, the sharing economy as it stands today rarely broadens access for anyone. The cool apps are potentially cheaper than traditional alternatives, but still not doing anything to really improve the lives of low income communities. (A point that's outside the scope of this answer, is to ask whether or not the goal should be to broaden access in the first place. Because while I'd argue "yes," by the very actions of some of these apps, clearly we're not in agreement.)Perhaps in my naivete, I believe 50% of the people will pay a "fair" amount, 25% will pay more, 25% will pay less. And hopefully, it will even out. As of now, there is not enough data to conclude anything. Last Minute Gear is not the only venture trying this out. No example is large enough to point at and say, "this model is viable in the long run"; so I can't say that I won't be screwed over.But, I can say that being screwed over is completely a matter of perception. If Last Minute Gear just barely breaks even financially but has helped innumerable people learn about the environment, and maybe care just a little more about pressing issues around sustainability and social justice, then that seems pretty successful to me. Think of it as we spend our profits to subsidize our community, rather than to subsidize our pockets.
