What's the easiest way to learn how to drive a car in Texas?

Thanks for the A2A, Tony, this was fun.Current Texas rules for driver education can be found here -> Texas Drivers Ed Online Guide. A quick summary: under 18, at least 32 hours of class room instruction and 44 hours of in-car instruction required; 18-24, at least 6 hours of instruction (can be on-line) and 44 hours of in-car instruction required; over 24 with no license, God help anyone in your way...None of that adequately address the big issue, which is how do you actually LEARN how to drive.I learned to drive in Texas almost 40 years ago, so things have likely changed a great deal, but I'm sure in large parts of the state, it's still true:farm equipmentOK, the young driver here is a bit younger than I was, but if you are on a farm or ranch, have friends or relatives with a farm or ranch, or even just live in farm or ranch country, sooner or later there will be an opportunity to learn to drive one of these bad boys. I think I was 8 or 9 when I learned to drive a tractor, and a bit older before I could reliably operate any implements it was towing. Still, great way to get around the back 40. And into town, in a pinch.dirt roads(N.B. - there are no Saguaro in Texas, no matter what the movies tell you. Strictly Sonoran Desert dwellers)Once you get off the pavement, on to unimproved roads, there is little to no chance of being pulled over and asked for your license. Thus, it's the perfect staging area for teaching youngsters to drive. Big pluses: almost nothing to hit if you do have trouble with car control, no one to get pissed off if you're going too slow.Bonus points: as your confidence builds, you get to learn all about "turn right to go left"farm-to-market roadsA step up from dirt, these one+ and two lane blacktop roads permeate the state, and with due discretion, not a bad place to take a kid to learn how to drive. Alas, the two roads through my town were full of 18-wheelers pulling oil field supplies at high speed, so that didn't work so well until we got a bit further afield and into less well traveled paths.high school drivers education coursesBy the time many kids, particularly in non-urban areas, reach high school, they've driven plenty on the paths described above. However, there are still lots of kids for whom the first introduction to driving is at the hands of an otherwise un-occupied football coachIn my day, the schools provided this as an addendum to the curriculum, on school property, using vehicles owned by the school. I'm reasonably sure that's all been privatized and outsourced these days with budget cuts and the desire to shed as much liability as possible, but I still remember my experience vividly. As an extra bonus, if I pissed the coach off while driving, I got to run extra laps at practice. Good times...Anyway, that's how we did it then, in Texas.

What are the most "American" activities to do when going to the USA for the first time?

I like the idea of a baseball game - or maybe even a football game, as that’s rarer outside of the USA. I’d choose a high school game, but heck, college or NFL would be fun too.If you are in AZ - you gotta take them to the Grand Canyon and to the Meteor Crater.Part of the experience is to see how LARGE the USA really is. AZ is almost as big as both Japan and Germany! So a long drive would really show that fact.Take them to museum exhibits to see Native American art, history, and culture.Take them to visit a desert park (such as Saguaro National Park). Or visit Jerome. Or visit the Petrified Forest. Or Antelope Canyon.Take them for relatively unique American dining experiences. Barbeque - the way we do it (no matter where you are in the US). Giant burgers. Diners. Pizza joints.Just my suggestions. Hope they have fun (and you do, too)!

Why do people move to Arizona?

Climate and Lifestyle. Arizona is almost 400 miles from north to south and 300 miles from east to west. It is the 6th largest state in the US. It has 4 environmental biomes from the Sonoran Desert in the south, the chaparral & rangelands, to ponderosa forests and alpine mountains to high desert.CLIMATE:Most people think that Arizona is the Sonoran Desert. And many people move here for that. No Snow. No subzero temperatures. National Observatories locate here because of the clear skies. 320 days out of the year are clear. Tired of cold, gray days in Cleveland, move here. Yes there are about 100 days where the temperatures are over 100degrees Fahrenheit. But everything here is air conditioned. And many people have pools in their houses, townhome complexes or apartments. And the humidity is low. It’s a dry heat. I remember flying out of DC when it was 98 with 98% humidity and landing at Sky Harbor when it was 108 with 10% humidity. Sky Harbor was more comfortable. As an old fart, you aren’t going to slip on ice and break your hip and ruin your life. If you are young, you have great hiking, backpacking, rafting, climbing etc opportunities. 78% of Arizona is publicly owned lands like the Grand Canyon, the Superstition Wilderness, Saguaro National Park etc. Lots of lakes. Arizona has more lakes than Minnesota. We just have less water. In the chaparral and rangeland biome you have Prescott, Payson, Cottonwood and Sedona. Prescott consistently ranks in the top 1o places to retire to. And they have 4 seasons if that is what you want. They are a little cooler in the summer, get fall foliage, some snow in the winter and spring. If you are an artist, hippie type, Bisbee and Jerome are heaven. In the north you have the largest ponderosa pine forests in the Us and you have Flagstaff. This is where people from Phoenix escape to in summer (if they can’t afford San Diego). Flagstaff is the home of Northern Arizona University. It is a college town. It is 75–85 degrees F in the summer with festivals and great things to do. If you want snow it gets lots of snow. Schools close for snow days. The Snowbowl is just north of Flagstaff. Great skiing in the Winter.COST OF LIVING.Arizona is typically less than the cost of living in most of the US. Arizona is a low tax state. Arizona has special tax benefits for retirees.EMPLOYMENT:Arizona has had better employment growth than most of the US. Some of the growth is because of the growth in migration and housing to meet that growth. And some of the growth has come from attracting California silicone valley companies like Intel.AMENITIES:Resorts, restaurants, concerts, symphonies, sports bars, Broadway touring shows, NASCAR, MLB baseball, NFL football, NBA basketball, NHL hockey, WNBA baseball, opera. jazz, rock concerts, casinos, etc. They are all here. Maybe not as many as Los Angeles. but enough to get you into trouble.

Comments from Our Customers

I entered the workforce 10 years ago. The company I worked at was a heavy deal and sign off company, and I was constantly running around the office with a manila folder and a pen to get signatures from everyone I needed. If I lost my document before getting the 10 signatures I needed, I would have to start all over from the bottom of the chain. If CocoDoc existed when I was an assistant, I would have gotten so many wasted hours back. CocoDoc is a product that I will not be able to work without from hereon out. I was introduced to it in my current position, at the very first moment that I had to sign on boarding paperwork. I fell in love almost instantly. CocoDoc allows you to prepare one digital document for execution by as many people as needed. You can set the order that people sign, insert fields for them to type in pertinent information, and send out the document with a few clicks of a button. It is legally binding. I can't write enough about how amazing CocoDoc is. I have literally never had a negative experience with it. I wish I could use my business account for everything -- signing leases and personal documents would be a breeze with this thing.
