I’m the oldest of 4 kids. All my younger siblings got married before I did. In 1995 (when I was 30), my youngest sister got married (she was 24). I had recently broken off a 2-yr relationship and was not interested in jumping back into the fray. Multiple friends of my mother approached me or my mother to ask why I wasn’t married yet, and isn’t it a shame that the younger ones got married first. They also said that I was setting my standards too high (they had no idea who I was or what my standards were). They were quite rude about it and I threatened to tell them that I was a lesbian just to shock them and shut them up (I’m not) unless my mother said something to them. My sister also made several rude remarks about how her wedding was the only chance for our mom to have a nice wedding, etc.I spent my 20s and 30s building a great career, having fun traveling, living in several cities. Was I lonely at times? Yes, but I wouldn’t have traded it. I married the love of my life in 2008. I’m glad I didn’t marry any of my earlier boyfriends and that I had those adventures.Even when people seem to mean well by asking, it is really none of their business. I don’t want what you have.I’ve decided to spend my money/time/energy on exploring the world and having a good life rather than on a single day that I will be paying for in multiple ways for the rest of my life.Looking at your husband, perhaps you should have had standards that were higher than just that he was breathing and heterosexual. Maybe you would be happier and feel less need to judge other people’s choices.I’ve decided to thoroughly enjoy the lovers who come into my life and then let them go when the relationship is no longer mutually beneficial. Life is more rich, interesting, and fun that way.Yes, I want children, but I don’t need a man for that.I know you mean well by asking about my love life, but it’s really none of your business.PSA: It is far better to be alone than with the wrong person. If you are happily married, it’s natural for you to want that for your friends, but you need to recognize that everyone has to find their own path and not everyone wants to be married.Single people are complete and whole in their own right (and often far more interesting). Instead of asking them about their love life, ask them about their adventures, their hobbies, their interests.

Why dont you hook up with someone your own age , better yet do like my mom told me take your ass to school and get an education but I wanted money so I was stuck driving 4 a living .
