You need to make sure that you have weekly or twice weekly Core Team Meetings. Do you have a Steering Team with meetings scheduled monthly or Ad Hoc? Do you have a technical team meeting scheduled periodically? Laying out a communications plan sets the tone for how often you need resources to get updates and status back on the work. If you project is challenging, you will need repeated meetings and working sessions to lock things down and work out the kinks. Record the meetings and have them digitally transcribed and/or take comprehensive meeting notes and outcomes.Follow up and drive resources to get you what you need to align with the project plan. Set agendas for meetings and document decisions, actions, capture issues and any new risks. Keep a consolidated log for Actions, Risks, Issues, Decisions, Lessons Learned. I live by my notes and outcomes (meeting minutes to some) and they become talking points for the next meetings.
