Hi!I got into SSN through management quota in 2018.Hence,I feel my experience through this application journey would benefit you.I belong to the batch of SSN,which holds the status of an Autonomous institution affiliated to Anna University,where the college is autonomous,in the sense that our papers are evaluated in the campus itself.However our graduation certificates hold Anna University’s name.The upcoming batches,by which I mean, from 2019 ,will belong to Shiv Nadar University,which is completely autonomous.Let me now take you through my admission process1.Application:I applied by filling in the online application form .In this process,pay attention to the 300–400 word essay stating why you want to join the college.You will have 6 options to fill in your desired branch(es).Pay attention to the order of your preference,the branch you wish to study in comes first,and the other preferences follow in the order of your liking,following the first choice.Also,mention your extra curricular achievements.Remember that mere participation in an event is not that advantageous.Validate your inter school,district,state or national level achievements with certificates.Note:BY MERE FILLING OF THE APPLICATION FORM,YOUR ADMISSION IS NOT GUARANTEED!!2.Wait..Wait and WAIT for your Call letter:After your application,you will have to wait for your call letter.This letter confirms your application and holds the date for you to give in your aptitude test and interview.This also does not confirm your seat.This just assures you that your chances of getting through stands.The call letter is sent through post.The process:SSN takes in candidates of several quotas,PIO,FN, and general.Based on your cutoffs,a rank list is generated for each quota and those who fall above a particular cutoff(which varies year to year)are issued the call letter.I do hope that you are aware of the fact that SSN adds +5 to the cutoff of students from ISC (like me) and CBSE,to put them on par with the state board students while generating the rank list.STATUS UPDATE:To know about your application status,you can always call up SSN’s Mylapore office.3.APTITUDE TEST AND INTERVIEW:The call letter will contain details of your batch number,date and time for the aptitude test.The batches go from A to E(as far as i remember).Don’t worry if you are on the last batch,it in no way reduces your chances of getting through.The aptitude test and interview happens on the same day .It would take almost half a day for the both of it to get over.Once all the students have gathered ,they are taken to a room,where they will be asked to fill in their application ID,name and other credentials.After verification you will be directed to take up the aptitude test,which is a 25 question,100 mark test,with a negative marking of -1 for each wrong answer.Each correct answer carries 4 marks .It is a timed test.On completion of the test,you would be allowed to meet your parents.Together with one parent,you will be briefed about the college and it’s achievements.Following that,you will have to submit the copies of certificates in your extra curricular achievements,as mentioned in your application.Please be reminded that your achievements only from grade 11 on wards will be considered.After cross examining your documents’s authenticity,you will have to sit for the interview.TIPS FOR ACING THE APTITUDE TEST AND THE INTERVIEW:*The aptitude test is not hard.You can refer to the aptitude questions on INDIABIX*There might be few general knowledge questions asked,I’d suggest you to go through the daily newspapers*A score of 85 and above is most likely to get you your desired branch,provided your interview goes well.*Stay confident in the interview.Place your thoughts and opinions with virtue .Be modest and try maintaining a good impression with the interviewer*Flaunt your talents and let them know about the branch you are most keen on taking up,all the while staying modest.4.OFFER LETTER!After giving the test and interview successfully,keep checking your mails regularly for your offer letter.This contains full proof detail of the course granted to you,and the fee details.Your seat in SSN is now confirmed and certain.The offer letter carries details of the date of fee payments and other documents that are required to be produced.Keep several copies of the documents asked.Also,don’t forget to take a print of the mail confirming your seat ,with your email id as the recipient.For any queries or doubts,do comment below.Hope this helped you!

I attended the management quota entrance test in 2015. I did not prepare anything for it so I don’t know the syllabus.There were 25 questions.+4 -> for correct answer.-1 -> for wrong answer.I attended 23 questions. And I answered 2 questions wrongly.My final score was 82. (4 * 21 - (2*1)).One question I remember is : In which year Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated? Others were basic math and logical reasoning. You can easily score 80+. If you want the course you prefer, better score 90+.PS: Take it seriously. I am in IT department and not in CS because of my aptitude test mark.
