That part of being an Annian was the best one of my life which cannot be replaced by any other institute, be it my Grad college life or PG college life.Our school organizes Anne's Feast Day on 26th july of every year. It comprises of performances of various groups on folk cultural music of our country of different states. Students dress up in casuals and its too much fun.There is picnic held every year and our school allows students to come in their casuals and party dresses which is the best part.There is office bearer ceremony of the school of which i was a part in 2011–12.The school has the best of teachers. I was there from Prep to XII standard. The friends and the teachers were the best and I have the best of memories with them.Every time I think about school, it gives me a nostalgia feeling and there are flashbacks. I could remember 100s of incidences which makes me laugh and cry at the same time.There was a school canteen which is not there anymore. The best feast was Dosa and patties. If one had to have a dosa or pattie, he immediately ran to the canteen on the first bell of the recess period. Because after 1–2mins there used to be a big line and dosa and pattie could get over very soon. And we had to wait until our turn comes up. Earlier there used to be designated days for going to canteen, batchwise. So i remember i used to wait for Wednesdays like anythingMemories of the playground- students used to wait for the games period. There used to be two games period in a week. And we waited like hell. We had hell lot of games to play - throwball, kho-kho, karate, basketball, badminton, table tennis, or if we didnt feel like playing any, we could sit and gossip. Our teachers Praveen sir, we used to mimic him, the way he spoke with his burst out vocal chords.Monday morning assemblies- come to school, keep your bags and rush to the assembly garden. If you tried bunking the assembly, punishment was ready.The school organizes a fair every year. Where we could go, dress up like we want, eat different meals, play games. All the stalls were managed by teams which included teachers and students. There is a stall where you can approach and dedicate songs for your loved ones. This used to be so much fun. Boys from outside, coming and flirting with the school girls. Buy coupons, go to the stalls and enjoy.There is a Christmas party. Drama played by students, music session and then dj party. We were treated either chocolates or laddoos everytime.Some of the best memories- Teachers used to assign students for preparing charts for the boards in class, making students monitor of the class (everyone was awaiting their chances to become one, monitor the class and write the names of the ones who misbehaves, no discrimination), how when last bell rang, we used to run to our buses to catch the favorite seats in the bus (I used to sit on the bench placed on the space in the bus, exactly in front of gate of bus), becoming an office bearer and having an privilege over other students, getting mobile phones secretly in ur bags, sit on the terrace during recess period and enjoying.I remember, during my 6th standard session, I didnt like going to school. My parents sent me in the morning and after two hours i used to make excuses of stomachache and call my father to pick me up. This continued to two weeks and then they came to knew that i was a big time liar. Everytime after that i made this excuse, i was discouraged. But this was too much fun.Memories of birthdays- how we waited for our birthdays to come. Buying a new dress. chocolates for classmates and teachers. Deciding who will become my partner when i go for distributng chocolates and becoming a partner when your friends chooses you to take her along on her birthday. Standing in the front of whole class and everyones singing the birthday song for you.While I think about Anne's, 1000s of memories run in my mind. I know all the annians have these memories too. I attended St. Antony’s College across the street from St. Anne’s College. In 2008, I interviewed at St. Anne’s with the Dean to transfer from St. Antony’s to St. Anne’s. Differences are management style, faculty Senate, philosophy in duty-of-care for students as client-customer, and different assembly of degree programs. Depends on the culture and community in which you seek to associate. I am not familiar with anything bad about St. Anne’s, it is a fine college.
