The hearing is still going on and might take another few months. So, I advise you to sort the matter with opposite party even if it means little loss to you. The time and effort along with loss of mental peace makes it difficult to give up once in consumer forum or giving up at that stage is a total loss of everything. So think thousands time before taking this route.Also, even if you have no plans to go to consumer court, make sure to record the calls or as far as possible communicate over email only. I never thought I will fight my case in consumer forum and never bothered to record conversation and/or even if tried after the phone conversation turned sour, critical part could never be recorded.You don't need to hire a lawyer and you can fight on your own. First & foremost, one cannot file a consumer complaint online in India. It has to be filed offline at the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum/State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission/National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, depending the claim amount.Now coming to these websites which have flourished these days. They are noting short of an assistance who just help you to file a consumer complaint. They do the following:They send email to corporates on your behalf stating your demand - Even you can do so on your own;After failing to get the claim through the point no.1, they will send a legal notice through an advocate on your behalf. Pl. note that legal notice is being sent on your behalf through an advocate and not by these websites. Better you hire an advocate and send a notice through him/her. At least you can cut down the middle man fees which these websites charges.Lastly, they will file & conduct the consumer complaint before the Forum or Commission as the case may be. Once again, these websites will hire a services for a lawyer. Its advisable you file the complaint on your own and through them. Appear before the Forum in person and conduct the case, it leaves a good impression before the President. You dont need a lawyer for appearance in consumer cases. Do some google regarding sample consumer complaint, evidence affidavit formats, etc. and draft them. Consumer Forums are very relaxed and appreciate consumers fighting their own cases.In short, none of these websites are of much help. You can help yourself by doing some research and fighting your own case.
