PDF Editor FAQ

How much do the top copywriters earn?

Some make $1 MM+ per year. Others (like me) are closer to $1 MM+ per month. Both groups have world-class copy chops and breakthrough marketing minds. But here's the difference:The first group writes for a big publisher or company. The second group writes for their own offers.I know because I was in the first group. And I moved onto the second one.Now $1MM per month is my income goal...And I plan to hit that before the year ends.To give you some context, here's how much I made this past May:$750,000As I mentioned, copy is only a piece of this income. But it's also the core skill that I leveraged to build all my other income streams. Here's what that breakdown looks like:Copy Accelerator Mastermind: ~100kCourse Launch: ~$300kFreelance Copywriting: ~$100kHealth Supplement Businesses: ~$230kCall Center: ~$12,500MISC (Commissions, Referral Agreements, Etc): ~$10kAfter I show this breakdown to people, they tend to ask me a variation of:"If there is so much money to be made in copywriting...Why are so many copywriters dead broke?"And the answer is twofold:#1 - I have years of experience and a bulletproof reputation for generating over $700MM with my copy. It's easier for me to create blockbuster copy and find clients at the drop of a hat.#2 - I got great at creating offers that can scale on cold traffic. That's the 'holy grail' of direct-response copywriting. And it's how I've scaled multiple businesses to 7 and 8 figures. So it's not easy. But not impossible either.I've seen dozens of people do the same thing.Want to stay just a copywriter? 8K-100K per month is not uncommon if you're consistently good.Part of that is a flat fee.Part of that is royalties.I've been a little hesitant to "bank it all" on royalties...Because most clients are quick to offer them to hedge their risk when hiring...But slow to pay them when the copy's live and crushing. That's why my base fee for a VSL (Video Sales Letter) is $50K.However, the REALLY BIG bucks will always be on the other side of the fence (AKA business ownership).Recently one of my students went from freelance copywriter making OK money to a 7-figure offer owner.Another is making over $100K per month after his offer cracked cold traffic. And yet another one created a guitar training offer that has over $100k/month in recurring revenue. All using world-class copy as their core leverage.

What field would allow me to make $100,000 per month without a college education?

There are many businesses where you could make this type of money. But without a college degree? Personally, I only know one industry where that could happen…And that's direct-response copywriting and direct-response business in general. Before diving deeper into my answer, I want to give you a little bit of context:I've been working as a direct-response copywriter and business owner for over 8 years now.My girlfriend at the time (now my wife) was a direct-response copywriter and I was in sales. She'd make $10,000 or more per month from home, while I made $4,000-$6,000 per month… and I was outside working all day and coming home drenched in sweat. After a while, I asked her:"Do you think I could be a copywriter too?"She said I had talent, and she took me on as an apprentice. After learning the ropes, I wrote a long ad to promote my services on the Warrior Forum and got my first paid gig:$149 for a full sales letter.Seems like crumbs? You're right. But at the time, it was pure joy. I finally confirmed I could make money online, without any fancy qualifications or corporate traps. After working for 8 years on hundreds, if not thousands, of projects in the direct-response business across dozens of niches...Including freelancing projects, my own businesses, a call center, and a mastermind...This May I made $750,000. And my goal is to hit $1,000,000 per month before the end of the year, which I'm pretty confident with.I don't say this to brag, at all. It's to point out the following:It IS possible to make $100,000 per month without a fancy degree or being a genius.I know because I've been there, done that, bought the t-shirt too.Got to $10,000...Then to $100,000...Crossed the $300,000-$500,000 mark...And now I'm about to cross off my $1MM goal.Sure, you might say most people don't want to be involved in that many businesses. And I get it. I do have a pretty crazy schedule. But here's the actual breakdown of what I made this May:Copy Accelerator Mastermind: ~100kRMBC Launch: ~$300kFreelance Copywriting: ~$100kHealth Supplement Businesses: ~$230kCall Center: ~$12,500MISC (Commissions, Referral Agreements, Etc): ~$10kTurns out, if I only stuck to freelance direct-response copywriting, I'd still be able to hit that $100,000 milestone. In fact, I'd probably get a lot more because my entire focus would be on freelancing projects.Since I can write around 8-12 sales letters per month, at my usual fee of $50,000, that's $400,000-$600,000 just from copywriting. Now, I'm sure you're thinking:"You get to charge those fees because you spent years honing your craft...But is mastering copywriting easy for beginners too?"Not at the beginning. By any stretch of the word.Besides the writing... You need to understand psychological triggers. You need to know how to sell. You need creative problem-solving skills. You need to get clients. But even then...Direct-response copywriting is the only skill I know where ANYONE in the world...From the U.S. or an obscure third-world country...With or without a college degree...With a big team or running the business on their own...They could forge their own paths and become multimillionaires after a handful of years putting out winning promotions.Even if you "only" make between $5,000-$20,000 working part-time from home...You could always re-invest the money into a direct-response business and hit that $100,000/month mark if your offer and traffic are dialed in.That's what I did for health supplements. For skincare. For an information publishing company. Some of my mastermind students took a similar path, and their results aren't too shabby either:One of them went from a freelance copywriter to a 7 figure offer owner.Another is making over $100k per month as a business owner after he got 2 offers converting on cold traffic. And yet a different student created a guitar training offer that grossed over $1MM, built a list of over 100k, and has over $100k a month in recurring revenue.Simply put:If you work hard and get genuinely good at the craft of direct-response copywriting, you will have the tools to break through every single income ceiling and smash every single income goal you set.Maybe you’ll have to venture out of just writing copy for clients…And start your own direct-response business…But at that point, you’ll know what to do or have the network to support you…And if you stay the course, it’s a proven path you can use outside of traditional careers to make that kind of cash.Hope this helps!P.S. Feel free to ask any additional questions you may have about direct-response copywriting. After coaching thousands of copywriters and direct-response business owners, I have tons of lessons to share.Drop a comment below and I'll make sure to answer sometime in the future.

Are teachers required to respect their students? If not, shouldn't a teacher still respect them regardless as an agreement? If not, why?

There is no requirement that teachers respect students. For evidence, I know lots of teachers who don’t respect their students. In addition, there is no published requirement I’ve ever seen in the district in which I work or in any other district in which I’ve worked. Believe me; I’ve read my contract from cover to cover. In addition, there is no legal requirement, since I would have seen that somewhere in my training or in some professional development somewhere along the way.Should teachers respect their students, regardless, “as an agreement?” No, but only because there need not be any agreement. Respect on the part of a teacher doesn’t require the respect of a student. Teachers should respect their students, even if they don’t get respect from their students in kind. That’s part of being an adult.I respect my students. I show that in various ways. As an example, I make sure that I don’t waste my students’ time. I work hard to be punctual. I don’t contact their parents unless I talk to the student first. I talk to my students about their education. I don’t baby them. I don’t assign them seating. I don’t tell them when they can or cannot use the restroom. I treat them like adults. When a student shows me disrespect, I do my uttermost not to respond in kind. It is sometimes difficult. I don’t always succeed as well as I would like. Still, I try.Why don’t students have to respect me in return? I chose to be in my classroom. I worked hard to get there. I learned, trained, thought, planned, and even drove to get there. My students didn’t choose to be in my classroom. The state mandates that they be there. Their parents, the police, school personnel, etc. all compel them to attend. This means that I have entered into a relationship and am bound to certain expectations. They are not bound by those expectations. Though I may have given them everything I can, I have given them nothing they sought. It works out for me, frankly. I show them respect and have no real disciplinary problems. I haven’t written a disciplinary referral in more than a decade now. My students appear to care about me and ask about my well-being. They listen. They work. I’m willing to call that respect.
