PDF Editor FAQ

Do you think Brian May and Roger Taylor should have started their own band instead of continuing with Queen without Freddy Mercury and John Deacon?

I actually don’t think they’re doing it for the money. I think they’re doing it for the legacy of the band. They want to keep performing the music - for their own personal satisfaction and also to make sure younger generations are aware of and familiar with it. Roger once said something to the effect of “we loved Freddie, but he’s dead and we’re still alive.” I can kind of understand it. Freddie died and John chose to retire. Freddie’s death was a good reason for John to retire, but honestly I think he wanted to retire before Freddie died and didn’t know exactly how to do it. Brian and Roger have different personalities from John and wanted to continue performing while John got to a point where he was waiting for his public life to end.Should Brian and Roger have started from scratch after they spent 20 plus years of their lives building up their band and its name? I don’t believe so. I think they fully realize that Queen will never fully be Queen without Freddie and John. And I don’t think their intention was to try to “re-form” Queen with different members because they know that is impossible. The purpose is to perform the music live, which is something they enjoy and will always enjoy as long as they can do it. In order to do it, they need help - a lead singer, a bassist, and keyboard backup. So I don’t see. anything wrong with what they’re doing.I don’t think John begrudges their desire to keep going anymore than they begrudge his desire to stop. And as crazy as it sounds, I think Freddie felt he was letting everyone (the band and the fans) down by dying, and wished he didn’t have to. Therefore, I think he would be delighted that the music lives on in all its forms. I think he would cheer on Brian and Roger’s efforts and tell them to go for it. It would be fairly bizarre if they were out there performing Queen songs under a name that wasn’t Queen. They are 1/2 of Queen after all. And had they not agreed to let Freddie join them back in 1970, there would have been no Queen. I think it’s good that they use the + sign which to me indicates their understanding that nobody outside the four original members can claim the name.Brian and Roger were together in the very beginning; it seems fitting they should be together in the end.

'You either retire a hero, or stay long enough to see yourself become the villain'. Which cricketer fits this line?

He wasn’t the most technically sound player. Rather, many felt that his batting was weird, stance was funny and shot selection was different. Even his technique of wicket-keeping was weird. It seemed like the small-town boy would never be able to make a mark in international cricket. He didn’t have the best of debuts and wasn’t even a regular in the squad, but he fought. He never gave up. With a 148 against Pakistan, he announced to the country that he is here to stay.Soon, he was handed over the reins of the nation’s T20 team with a below-par squad. Much wasn’t expected of them, just like the squad of 83′.But it is fun to fight the odds and win, he got the cup home, with the same ‘below-par’ squad. And his captaincy, that was weird too. He’d take the most surprising decisions at the most surprising times.Did he become a hero after winning the T20 World Cup?Not yet. T20 isn’t really the most challenging format and he hadn’t faced the most difficult of challenges yet.But that surely marked the beginning of the ‘Dhoni Era’. The same batting, keeping, and captaincy which was labeled earlier as weird, was now being labeled as unique.Soon, he was handed over the captaincy in other formats too. And he thanked everyone by getting India to the 1st rank in Tests. Then came another challenge, the World Cup of 2011. This time, he not only shone as a captain but also as a batsman.“Dhoni finishes off in style. A magnificent strike into the crowd! India lift the World Cup after 28 years!”That is one line that would keep echoing in your head forever if you saw that match live. This was where he became a hero. His poster would go on the walls every young cricket lover, he got the respect very few people could get in the country. He crossed a bigger hurdle soon. Winning the Champion’s Trophy in England is something every captain would dream of.The success in IPL followed. He kept collecting the trophies across formats, across tournaments. He wasn’t just a hero now. He was the ‘superhero’.Youngsters dreamt to become Dhoni. They tried the shots he played. He was now counted amongst the legendary players of the country. But you can’t help it when destiny has other plans for you.His form soon dipped. He wasn’t getting the big numbers on the board. He retired abruptly in the middle of a Test series against Australia. That was surprising, looking at his fitness, it never seemed like he was out of touch. He still was the captain in limited-overs. Although his captaincy was still hailed as the best, it was the batting that caused him problems. The ban of his home team, CSK, in the IPL just multiplied his problems. He couldn’t replicate the same magic with his new team, RPS. He was dropped as a captain too. Yes! India’s best captain was stripped off his captaincy. He stepped down as a captain in limited-overs too. He wanted to concentrate on his batting. He still couldn’t notch up those big scores. He wasn’t the best finisher anymore. A string of low scores followed. He took a break, concentrated on his fitness, and he got those much-needed runs. But his image took a u-turn by now. The same crowd which was chanting his name now started demanding him to retire. He was stealing the spot of a youngster in the team, they said.News channels started airing shows on his retirement. Every website published articles on the same. Thanks to the Quora Partner Program, even a person who can’t spell cricket flooded this site with questions about him being greedy and demanding him to retire. The squad for the World Cup 2019 was announced and many legendary cricketers questioned his inclusion in the squad. His batting position was mismanaged by the captain and the coach. He was questioned for his ‘lack of intent’. Nothing went right.Dhoni now became the villain. While some want him to retire, others want him to continue. He’s had a drastic fall in image. To some, he is still a hero. The others, label him as a villain because he couldn’t replicate his magic from the past.

Have you ever 100% trusted any politician?

I am following politics right from the year 1992 and I used to watch the political rallies of all political leaders whenever I had a chance to view them. I was an ardent supporter Congress, especially when Rajiv Gandhi he was the PM of India. I found that fresh blood and his young energy will take India forward but unfortunately later I realized that they treated India as their “family property” and gave no chance to others to rule this country. I admired the political acumen and the governance of Shri P V Narasimha Rao and the way how he saved India during the worst financial crisis.PVN Rao comes third in my ranking..This day the half-lion saved India: When Rao and Manmohan brought economy back from the brinkBut unfortunately he could not continue the post for “Known” reasons and there were some allegations on him which eventually forced him to retire form politics.5 controversies that marred Narasimha Rao's political legacyThe next PM who caught attention worldwide is Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee who first made me to understand that there are some people in India who are willing to sacrifice their “Heart & Soul” for the sake of India. One of the pioneering PM and a trusted Politician Vajpayee was considered as one of the best statesman India has ever produced. He introduced great schemes and run a coalition government successfully without budging and commanded respect from all quarters,he comes second in my listNow comes the person who I admire & trust !!The first rank goes to this great man who is none other than our honorable Pm Shri Narendra Modi. I have seen umpteen politicians who speak about politics but this man speaks more about India, its culture and its values and above all he practices that without any hesitation and also have the guts to proudly project to the world. His intentions are very clear and he never fears anybody to echo his views. I have never seen a politician who proudly say to world about the great traditions of our country and he does that on international platforms also without fearing about losing votes. Not only that,he is the only politician who says that students, children must give respect to parents, teachers and elders and advises them to follow a strict code of ethics .He too speaks politics and that is inevitable since he is a politician but above that he is an inspirational personality with his extraordinary oratorical skills. His working style and the energy levels have many times astonished me since I could not find how he is deriving that much of energy in such an age !!Modiji is indeed a great gift for modern India and he must rule our country for at-least two more terms to make this Great Nation, great again. He is a rare gem in the dirty filth of politics and he works with utmost commitment brushing aside the comments and criticisms barraged on him.I trust my PM and support is actions because I fully know that whatever he does it is for the good of this country and its citizens !!!Thanks for asking this question and thanks for reading !!!Jai Hind !!!
