There are two applicants with a college degrees for every well-paying job, i.e. college grads with bachelor’s degrees are “a dime a dozen.” If I’m hiring and I’m lazy, why don't I just up-credential the open position, and at least I’m pretty much assured the person I’m going to interview can read, write, and do simple math. ($25/hr) The job? Maintaining robots. Some of the classes are free—government grants. The classes only have three students. Kids would rather go to a four year college and major in creative writing.This CC had to drop their plumbing certification—no interest.
