PDF Editor FAQ

How is your life outside Quora?

Freaking busy.As I type this, I'm on my break from my volunteering job at a National trust siteI've got to leave here early at 3PM to get to the racetrack and watch the horses with my parents. After that we’re going to a fireworks display, and tomorrow I have five hours of archery. Then I'm back in class for Monday, where I also have to get started on an application form for a job that pays me.Its work work work, but I love it.

Can I stay at the Isha Yoga Center as a volunteer soon after completing the inner engineering program?

OK! let my mishap be your lesson.Once I accidentally filled a “full time volunteer application form” instead of a “program form” I was intending to attend in the ashram. I duly received a call from the foundation, politely rejecting my application after a brief interview because I did not fulfill the requirements. Though I did not intend to apply, I understood it's not like anybody can pack their bags and have a permanent stay at the ashram. They look at many aspects starting from if your intention is pure, your previous volunteering experience near your city, discipline, sadhana, your family situation, your volunteering experience in the ashram, why you have taken the decision. Is it a fleeting thought of “oh I'll change the world” or are you truly committed to the cause etc etc.Sooooooooo…if you are looking to become a full time stay volunteer in the ashram immediately, no, you need to go through a process where you prove your commitment and trust worthiness. But that being said, if you want to immediately visit the ashram, stay for a few days, weeks or months and volunteer/attend programs, you definitely can. I suggest you to first get a taste of inner engineering. If you want to be a full time stay volunteer, you just need to be up for it and show you are truly committed to it. Then voila, you are there!Ps: The process might have changed in the past two years. But this is my experience.

If I am applying for an immigrant visa "green card" should I reveal that I also have illegal (out of status) relatives in the US? Sister, cousins, etc… Wouldn't these place them or fast forward them to some deportation queue?

There is no place in the DS-260 IV application form that asks for siblings, cousins, etc in the US, much less their status. The only family members asked for are parents, spouse and children, and it does not ask for even their status in the US, if they happen to be there.https://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/DS-260-Exemplar.pdfOne of the admittedly many rules about completing USG forms is, don’t volunteer anything besides precisely what is required.
