PDF Editor FAQ

I am planning to write an e-book about my experiences in the business world as well as working for a tech startup. What would be the best way to go about marketing the e-book?

I used a publisher for my first book and found the effort frustrating and only moderately successful. The publisher seemed so old school that they did not want to release ebooks or give Amazon or Google the rights to publish a preview. So I self-published my next 12 books, quite successfully. No problem with Amazon Kindle or PDF downloads (although you can't do both for a single book, as Amazon objects.)There are a number of self-publishing houses that allow you to upload PDF or DOC formats and publish through their sites, where downloads or printed books are provided by them, and you receive royalties higher than any standard publishing agreement. Try LULU for a start. Buy their $75 global distribution package. Sign up as an Amazon Kindle author. Decide which of the two you want to distribute your electronic version. LULU will distribute your book through Amazon for you, as well as other online retailers.Send your mailing list a link to the books, asking each to forward to their friends. Comment about your new book in social media sites. Create you own demand.Everyone has a book to write. Good luck making yours a reality.

Why is US goverment national security being profiled very openly on this year's season of the television news magazine 60 Minutes?

Because 60 Minutes does a great job of being perceived of investigative but is now a public relations outlet for these intelligence organisations in the past decade. Just recently they did a glowing piece on David Rubenstein and how he's such a beneficent person to give money to restore the Washington Monument and how he clumsily got rich but failed to mention he got that way from supporting authoritarian military/police regimes in countries the US backed, no wonder he had some conscience unloading to do. The NSA piece they did after Snowden which continued the agency's media line that all the released docs are deadly to Americans. Without acknowledging any of the sincerely scary things released in said docs. Most recently their puff piece on the FBI, repeatedly having current director James Comey say they are absolutely bound by the law and not to supercede warrant authority meanwhile a case has been thrown out in Las Vegas, Phua case, for agents illegally infiltrating hotel rooms to tap phones without proper warrants and with Ross Ulbricht of the Silk Road case going to overseas servers to hack into particular servers, again outside their jurisdiction.Point is 60 Minutes is a schill and only pretend to investigate the actual crimes in lieu of the PR seeking intel organizations

What happens when you're admitted into a mental hospital?

Depends on the hospital. It’s not as bad as most think. I’ve been in 10 times so I’ll tell you what I can. In the er, they evaluate you by a social worker and a psychiatrist. They check your stuff and have you put on paper scrubs. Then you wait till they find you a bed. Then the ship you. When you get there you fill out paperwork on your meds and history. You’re interviewed by a nurse. They tell you the name of your doc and your patients number and explain the rules of the unit. They check your stuff and take you to your room. You meet with other patients sometimes in group therapy. The doc will usually see you once a day. They wake you up for breakfast and take vitals. The staff are there to talk to. They give afternoon snacks after lunch and before bed when they give out the meds. Sometimes they have activity therapy during the day. Lunch is either bought to the unit or you go to the cafeteria. You might get choices depending on the hospital. There is usually outside time, and they have phone time and visitation hours every day. All are supervised by staff. You have a room mate. Sometimes there are bathrooms in the rooms, sometimes it’s a community bathroom which you’ll probably have to get staff to unlock. The showers are in there too. If there’s a curtain it’s a flexible pvc pipe with plastic rings. The staff usually makes sure no one enters wile you are in the shower, and definitely without supervision. The rooms are usually empty except for a bed and maybe a table or something fixed to the wall. A few have individual ac units, most hospitals are controlled by the hospital. The bag in the trash can is paper. Laundry is done by the patients supervised by staff. Usually only one washer and the door is locked. If they find you cutting or otherwise a staff member will follow you everywhere and watch you sleep and stand right outside the shower and bathroom. You can’t go anywhere without the staff member. (I was always on that) your clothes are checked in by staff and any ties are cut or you don’t get them. The hospital provides cheap toothbrush and toothpaste and shampoo and a comb. You can bring some of that in but it must be checked by staff. No personal blankets or pillows. Don’t keep asking when you can leave because they’ll think that’s all your Inretested in. Depending on your reason for going in they can put you on a mandatory 72 hour hold. After that, you’re interviewed by a coronoer who can then extend your stay to mandatory 14 day hold, at which the doc has the authority to release you. And that can also be rextended. But not usually. It’s a good place to go to get help and it’s fast to get the right meds because you don’t have to keep waiting for prescriptions. You try it that day. They saved my life. They’re not exactly pleasant, but not horrible either. Hope that answers all your questions! Let me know if there’s anything you left out.By the way, some hospitals are now implementing Metal detectors, and they do skin checks to know what cuts and scars you already have. Like I mentioned on the outset, all hospitals are different and the admitting procedures may be different for different states.
