PDF Editor FAQ

What is the Interac service outside Canada and USA?

There is no such service. Interac is a cooperative owned by Canada's financial institutions providing ATM, POS, and E-transfer services within Canada.Any financial institution can send a WIRE TRANSFER, but there are fees involved and it can take 3–5 business days but normally goes through the next business day. CIBC allows wire transfers to be sent online, other banks might as well. You may need to call or visit the bank to send a wire transfer.TD Canada Trust offers worldwide money transfers to any Visa debit or credit card; however, once again, it is not instant.Scotiabank allows you to send WESTERN UNION TRANSFERS to anyone instantly through online banking and from their branches. This is an instant service, but the recipient must go to their local Western Union Agent to pick up the cash.If you send a lot of transfers, you may want to open a business bank account and subscribe to your bank's online payment service, allowing you to input recipient account numbers and send wire transfers yourself.Additionally, there are third-party payment services, such as WorldRemit; however, there is usually an additional lead time since they need to take the money out of your account. If you have a need for instant, low-cost global money transfers, I recommend using Bitcoin.

What bank would you choose in Toronto and why?

Thanks fir the A2A!So, it’s a fairly complicated question these days. The big 5 (TD Canada Trust, RBC, CIBC, BMO and ScoatiaBank) are all pretty comperable, but there are some big advatages to the alternatives: “online only” banks and Credit Unions.First, with the big 5, you should look at branch proximity; which bank has a branch closes top your home? Your work? Sure, most banking is online or other electronic means, but somtimes you need a person (usually a branch manager) to sort somthing out.Second, if you’re in to mobile wallets like Android Pay or Apple Pay, make sure the bank you want supports it. I’ve been a TD customer for many years, but their recent decision to not support Android Pay for the forseeable future has me rethinking it.Third, current promotion. If the location and electronic services line up for you, what kind of promotional offering do they have? The actual services and account pricing is pretty similar across all the big 5, so maybe a free iPad or some cash back will sway you?Now for alternatives. Online banks like Tangerine and PC Financial (soon to be Simplii) have no monthly fees and higher interest rates, but also lack branches and can have issues with support (PC Financial has been especially bad there). Credit Unions (bank co-ops) have some advantages too. They’re generally cheaper and offer better credit terms, but they’re not “true banks”. While generally offer similar safety, services and have to follow similar regulations, they lack some things like the ability to do international wire-transfers with foreign banks. But none of that is an answer to your question :)As long as you don’t mind the lack of Android Pay, TD Canada Trust is still my choice. Excellent services, lots of branches and ATMs in lots of convenient places. Secondary choice is Tangerine: no branches, but great customer support, cheaper and owned by ScotiaBank, so a solid netowork of ATMs there too.

What is the best bank to execute international wires between Canada and the US?

The TD Bank has branches in both countries and I think that RBC does as well. You could literally transfer funds between your American and Canadian accounts on-line.TD Canada Trust | Cross-border BankingBanking in the U.S. " RBC Bank ®American banks do not operate in Canada in a major way so they are at a disadvantage.

While I canceled my free trial, yet was charged anyway, they promptly refunded the amount when I brought it to their attention.
