There's probably a thousand little dive bars and juke joints between Chicago and Wichita, so sort of hard to narrow down without just googling, which you can do as well as I can.But, two top places for live music in the Midwest are that way, although neither in Kansas City. Granted, dunno if you're talking like open mike places, but any indie rock band that was able would love to book these two on that route if they could. They're both the two main college towns on your path, not coincidentally.The Blue Note in Columbia, MO is a great place for live music. More a theater type setting but they go off the beaten path quite a bit in booking acts and getting local or lesser known folks to open etc. They're also connected to Mojo, another great place. The Blue NoteThe Bottleneck in Lawrence, Kansas is a famed and well loved venue, more a bar atmosphere than Blue Note, and can even get a little rowdy, but a great place to rock out. I'd forget KC, start with those two venues, then start looking around from there.Good luck!

In the U.S. no.Abortion isn’t a federal crime.States may only prosecute crimes that occur within their jurisdiction (i.e. within the state). The only possible exception I can think of would be if a doctor licensed and actively practicing in the state of, e.g. Missouri, travels to New York to perform an abortion on a citizen of Missouri. Even then, that is pushing the bounds or criminal jurisdiction rules since the act of providing an abortion is legal in New York. However, that exception is only an issue for the doctor (see point 3).Most laws that provide criminal sanctions for abortion do not apply to the mother. So, when you say “get an abortion,” the recently passed laws (i.e Alabama, Missouri, etc.) explicitly state that the mother will not be subject to any criminal prosecution. The laws provide criminal sanction to the abortion provider, not the recipient. In the hypothetical stated in point #2, I don’t think the doctor would face criminal charges back in MO, but his license to practice medicine in MO may be in jeopardy.Those that are pushing a narrative that women obtaining abortions are subject to prosecution (especially related to the latest round of laws) are pushing a misinformation campaign (in more colloquial terms, they are lying).
