THE PROGRESS REPORT CARDThis was when i was in 11th standard. I was a very notorious student and was often called to the Principal's room to get scolded by her. My dad was often called to the school because of me. I used to tell my dad in the morning itself that he might be called today for some mischief which i did the previous day. My dad used to get angry because he had to leave his office in the middle and come to the school. One day, i was skipping a class and the Class teacher informed the School Principal about it. "Princi" as we used to call her called me to her office and straight away dialled my dad's office number from her landline. She remembered his number as she had called him to school earlier also.Princi to my Dad- "School aaiye zara.... aapka beta yaha bahut karnaame kar raha hai".(English Translation- "Pls. come to school....Your son is doing a lot of misdeeds").My dad came in half an hour. I was in Princi's room till then. Princi scolded me in front of my dad for 10 minutes and also strictly advised my dad to make me focus on studies. My class teacher also entered Princi's room at the same time. After the Princi's lecture was over, me and my dad got out of her room and my dad started talking to my class teacher.My class teacher said to my dad- "Ab aap school aa hi gaye hai to iska progress report card bhi sign kar dijiye"( "Since you have come to the school,please sign his progress report card also")And he handed over my report card to my dad.It was the day when we're supposed to get our report cards. My heart started beating faster.My dad was seeing my report card for the first time and as he opened the report card he found it was already signed thrice against "Parent's Signature" column ( for 2 unit-tests and one half yearly exam). It was me who never showed that report card to him whenever we're given it to get it signed by our parents. I always signed it by writing my father's name in some fancy style and submitted it back without anyone knowing at home and school.After looking at those signatures my dad looked at me with big eyes. He knew that it was me. I was feeling bad but was also not able to control my laughter thinking about the situation.The class teacher gave him a pen. He carefully examined the earlier signatures made by me and copied the same signature in the next column."I love you Dad" i said in my mind with my eyes down.As we left the room I bursted out laughing and even my dad started smiling.Had he freaked out and told the class teacher that he'd never seen and signed the report card earlier, the Princi would again have scolded me like hell .8 years have passed since then, but whenever i visit home I always discuss the case of that report card with my dad.

I was in class 11th back then.My crime partner to me, “Vivek, let's bunk this chemistry class.”I was also in no mood to study and hence agreed.Third bell rang, it was our chemistry class, let's bunk.A little info about my class teacher— She was our computer science teacher and was really fed up of me and my friend circle as we were last benchers and never paid attention in classes, rarely made notes and bunked classes a lot.So, me and my crime partner were roaming around the whole school. We happened to pass through computer lab. But before passing by we decided to confirm whether the teacher assisting the students inside is not our beloved class teacher.So I decided to peep inside the lab through the door to check. I headed towards the lab door and was about to check when the assisting teacher came out and saw me and my crime partner. And she was none other than my class teacher.“What are you two doing here? Why you are not attending classes?” Said my class teacher.We both looked at each other and then I said, “ M… M… Ma’am, we went to library for returning books.”“Return to the classroom right now”, she yelled.We both were returning to our classroom and suddenly I noticed that she was following us.The chemistry class was not over yet. We entered the class and my class teacher asked our chemistry teacher whether we took permission to go out.Now, I was a like a star student in front of my chemistry teacher's eyes as I used to score good marks. I was sure that he would take my side and say yes. Hence I stood there standing and smiling confidently. :-P“No! They didn't take my permission to go out. Infact they were not present in the classroom since the beginning of the class.” , Said the chemistry teacher angrily. “They are not studying properly nowadays too”,he further added.FacepalmI thought inside, “dhokha BC (—_—) .”My crime partner and I were then loaded with a heavy lecture by both the teachers till the class ended, plus we were awarded with a complaint note and were instructed to get it signed by our parents.P.S.- my parents didn't sign that complaint note because I never told them about it.
