PDF Editor FAQ

What life lessons did you learn from reading Amish Tripathi's series "The Shiva Trilogy"?

That you should never trust advertisement. No matter how many times Indian media calls Amish Tripathi “Indian Tolkien” he is nowhere close to such level of writing and will never be.At least the first novel is written so poorly, I could not stop cringing while trying to go through a few first chapters. I would love to read good Hinduism fantasy books. The Shiva Trilogy is not one of them.

At what age did you read 'Atlas Shrugged'? How did it affect you? Did your opinion about the ideas in the book change over the years?

I attempted to read Atlas Shrugged at around age 25. I was very poor, there were dozens of copies at the Goodwill for 10 cents each, and it had been described to me as being “science fiction.”Within the first three chapters I took it back to the Goodwill and dumped in back in the donations box. The gaping plotholes, the flat characterizations, and the logical inconsistencies put off someone who had been reading Heinlein, Tolkien, Asimov, Bradbury, Nourse, Norton, Ellison, and other science fiction greats.I wasn’t that desperate.

Why did Rowling make the bullying scene so extreme? Was it really necessary to include the soap bubbles and the stripping part?

My biggest problem is actually not that Rowling wrote such an extreme scene but more how she handled the aftermath of it.When I first read this chapter I seriously hoped that the she would condemn such behaviour and make it absolutely clear that it was unforgivable and outright evil. But no. Severus was “just this little oddball” and the bullies “deflated their heads a bit” and this is apparently enough to make everything alright. And then it's almost never mentioned again.

Comments from Our Customers

I love the fact that you can build anything you dream of. There are so many customizations that allow you to take your form to a whole new level if you put some time and effort into it. Some things that I find essential: - easy to use - drag & drop - highly personalizable - you can make your forms mobile responsive - you can apply conditional formatting (for example, you can make one question appear only if the respondent replied in a certain way to a previous question) - you can use it for file uploads (e.g. CV submission form) - a wide variety of templates - great documentation
