That doesn’t mean you can buy it tomorrow. It needs to be tested thoroughly in the lab, then tested again on animals, then get the green light from the FDA to be trialled over weeks or months on human volunteers, then get another green light from the FDA to be produced. Going from lab trial to mass production is again months of process development.I work in this industry. I know how the process works.If it all gets fasttracked, and provided that nothing goes wrong, you may see the first public vaccinations in 6 months. More likely it'll be more than one year.So check Inovio again around Christmas time. If you're lucky they have a commercialised vaccine by then.

You need to understand that one and half year is an optimistic scenario and extremely fasttrack timeline. In general to develop and market a vaccine it takes anywhere between 5 to 20 years or more.Vaccines are complicated and viral vaccines are much more complicated. This is a novel virus, meaning new to human hosts. It's mode of action and the immune responses are still not completely studied. Based on prior knowledge of SARS virus current vaccine candidates are being developed, whether they will be successful is yet to be seen.Vaccine is not like a chemical/ pharmaceutical product.
