Ditto the P-51A’s first received, ancestors of the later Merlin P-51C’s and D’s.And they were RUBBISH compared with Merlin Powered types - all self inflicted, and , to my mind, unfairly prejudicing the Allison.Since the British write far more about WWII types than Americans do (perhaps due to fetishism of the conflict, who can tell ?) and because of a desire to trumpet the Merlin over the Allison, its been a bit of propaganda to say that the Allison was inferior.I believe it wasn’t, but I also believe that it was poorly deployed, and , instead of learning from the config of the Merlin in order to improve the form of installation and power available, this was studiously ignored - only worsening the reputation of the engine. WRONG again! The best interpreter of the Qur’an is Muhammad himself. If something is unclear in the Qur’an, usually the Hadiths (which are recorded reports of what Muhammad said and did) clear things up. For example, if you don’t know what “what your right hand possesses” really mean (Qur’an 4:24), you have several Hadiths (among others Sahih Bukhari Vol.3 #432) that clears this up. There is your context, people! I have put the Hadiths verses right there underneath the Qur’anic verses in my answer.Mike, you’re cherry-picking verses! Well, it’s definitely not cherry picking, if the verse has become a fundamental part of Islamic Jurisprudence. For example: The stoning of adulterers. Some will say that I cherry-picked that verse from the Hadiths, looking past all those other “good” verses in which Muhammad has been soooooo merciful towards women. Frankly, such an argument is very disrespectful towards the thousands of women who were stoned because of “adultery” in the last 1400 years by Muslims. If the verse that I am reporting in my answer has become the defacto foundation of an Islamic law and tradition that is practiced in dozens of Muslim countries, then the term cherry-picking is very ill-placed here.
