PDF Editor FAQ

If civilisation started in Africa, and all people are believed to come from Africa, how come Africa remains poor and far behind the development?

First of all, let me admit that this question hits me where it hurts. Sometimes the truth hurts. This one hit “hard and heavy” big time from all corners. It is a series of dilemmas I have been trying to figure out.Why is Africa rich, yet poor? Why are Africans brilliant and smart, yet, their policies are dumb, especially from the African Union? Why are their most educated and skilled workforce leaving their countries to enrich the already developed countries? Why doctors, engineers, scientists, and business men and women leaving? What is wrong and how can we fix it?It should be for every African who cares about Africa and her people. I will not just complain about issues, I will propose some solutions from an African perspective.“Africa is not poor, it is poorly managed”. Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf.Our resources enrich the rest of the world, but Africa. Without our resources, forget about electronics (computers, cell-phones, etc), without Ghana and Ivory Coast, forget about chocolates, without DRC, Botswana, and South Africa, forget about fancy marriage rings, and jewerly or anything else. This list is endless."Africa is poor" they said!“ Africa does not need aid”. Most of her resources are stolen every year for over 120 years now. From the invasion of Africa in the end of 20th century, to colonization, and today with neo-colonization. Different forms each time, but same results. See below how much money we lose each year. A net loss of $41 billion dollars in 2017. The loss keeps growing every year. We don’t need your aid. We don’t need your “peanuts”.Source: The 2017 Honest Accounts Report by Global Justice Now.The Africa they never show you. There is another Africa that the media never wants to you to see. The positive Africa that is prosperous, progressive and just as developed as the West. Sadly, the NGO industry machine and the western countries never want you to see this side.It is not the narrative that they want to push out, sadly. To make you “ donate”, they have to show you that Africa is “helpless”, that you are the only “ savior” they got. NGOs take your money in forms of donations and taxes. We Africans don’t need your Pity and Sympathy. Keep your Money!Image source: Dreamstime. From an African perspective, Aid leads to dehumanization, low-self esteem, dependency culture, cycle of poverty and pitiful mentality. Would you want to be a beggar for life? How would that make you feel? Think about how this affects African from generations to generations. It is a no-brainer to me that they keep pushing “ aid” to people who don’t need it. Your donations end up in their pockets anyway. They enrich themselves with it.Charities in Africa. How does Aid hurts Africans. There is no doubt in my mind that some of you will be “ shell-shocked” with some photos below. “Africa they never show you”.Six of the top 10 Fastest Growing Economies in 2018 are African.Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania ( East-Africa)Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire; One of my favorite cities in West-Africa.Kigali, Rwanda ( my homecountry).Photo Credit: Rwanda the Heart of AfricaAccra, Ghana. I worked here for three years.Image source: Accra, the capital city of GhanaThe young African millionnaires in business, changing the narratives, making lots of $$ along the way and making a big impact in the lives of many Africans. This is the group I want to be part of someday. Right now, I do “passive investing” with some of them. You will find them in East-Africa, Central Africa, Southern-Africa, North and West-Africa. The ROI (returns) in Africa when you invest directly into small and medium businesses is the best I have ever seen anywhere in the world.Didier Champion's answer to How do you get rich in Africa? They are the real changing the status quo and have benefitted from booming economies around the continent. Today, I see no other place that is easier to become a millionnaire while young than Africa; starting with nothing. If you know of any, let me know. Now, let me get back to your question. I personally don’t agree that “ Africa is poor”. I hate this perspective. I have met many talented Africans around the world. As a continent, we just need to get our shit together and use the resources we have to create strong economic blocs for ourselves.Stop exporting our raw materials. Instead, transform them in our own countries and export them when they are finished products.Imagine if;Ivory Coast did that with their Cocoa in the chocolate industry.Nigeria did that with their oil and gas industry.DRC did that with their natural resources.South Africa, Botswana, Equatorial Guinea, and many other countries. [instert any African country] see 1st graph for more from each country. Our resources enrich the rest of the world, but us Africans. The whole world benefits from our resources. African people remain the biggest losers of all time in the history of mankind. This is why we lag behind. This is why we remain “poor”. If you were to pick one thing that keep Africa “poor”, this is it. Look nowhere else. Period. Why is Africa lagging behind?Let’s be honest. African issues are our own issues. Africans should NOT expect Europeans, Americans, or the Chinese to solve their problems. African problems can only be solved by Africans only. To think otherwise, you have to be “crazy” and “ dumb” on steroids.Africa need to phase out Aid to be politically and economically independent. There are a lot of reasons why Africa has stayed behind; some are obvious and others are not. Some you can blame them on the invaders and neo-colonizers. ( Europeans and the West). But Africans are to blame for the most part. You can put blame on slavery, colonization all you want, but when it comes down to it, Africans are to blame for neo-colonization after the independence mouvement in the 60’s.Yes, the Europeans shitted on us big time with colonization. But, after colonization, they reinvented the wheels with “ aid” and neo-colonialism. Africans allowed them to stick around and accepted their “ inferior” position at the back of the bus. I blame colonization on Europeans, but anything after colonization is the African faults and mistakes.Accepting that they were inferior and that their colonial master was their “savior” all of the sudden. The Europeans have not cared about Africans. They will never and should not care. They supposedly came to Africa to “ civilise” but really it was all about their own self-interests. They have not been “ Mother Theresa” and they will never be. They don’t need to be.After colonization, they got snicky and said we will stick around and be your “savior”. You are an inferior race, who cannot do anything on your own. Let’s us help you. With “ aid”, they still control majority of Africa countries ( especially, France, the UK and the US, who had to play “ catch up” as he missed out on colonization). From unfair trade practices, controlling the monetary and fiscal policies, they can do whatever they want. African leaders don’t answer to their people. They answer to West Europeans (EU, France, UK, Germany, the US, Netherlands, etc) and North America ( US and Canada). All of the above are the African problems and not the neo-colonizers. African people have no opinion about what goes on in their own countries. Their opinions barely matter. Their “ dumb” leaders and representatives are happy to show up in meetings in Paris, London, Berlin, Quebec, and other places.During these meetings, conferences, summits, and what nots. The West already have their own expectations and clear goals of what they want to achieve. More control and power in Africa. On the other hand, African leaders are told what their expectations are and what they should do, how they should do it, when to do it, etc. Do you see this level of control? I see it everyday. What kind of interests do you think a slave owner have in mind for his former slaves? What kind of respect and dignity do they have for them? The same ones a “former colonizer” have for his “former colonies”. This is not hard to understand, but our leaders don’t seem to get it. Mindboggling. They always seem to use “ colonization” as their excuse card. Other countries were colonized too. South Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, the list goes on.What did they do and how did they do it? Loving their countries and caring for their people. It was not through aid. They did it through relying on themselves. Trading and doing business with one another, inovation, education, and many other sectors.Educating their children.Today, Africans still use books written by Europeans. Our real history was erased and rewritten by our slave owners. In schools, we still learn that Africa was “ discovered”, that our rivers and mountains were discovered by some “ European” explorers. Haha! How do you discover people who settled in their lands for generations? I don’t fucking know. It is upsetting. In our history books, our ancestos are called “ indigenous” people. Our heroes who founded our kingdoms, unbreakable empires of their era, fought Europeans with spears and fleshes when they initially came in with guns and bullets. They were fearless, courageous, and were willing to die for their dignity. Our leaders today and just a bunch of punk and wussies. They cannot even speak their minds. I call them “dumb”, but really it is political greed, and fear for their positions. The moment they speak up, they will be shut down by the masters. So, many keep their mouth shut like a baby who can’t for themselves. They only speak at African Union, but elsewhere they are meeting with the G-8 and G-20 countries, they are happy to shake hands and take their place in the “ back seat” of the bus. It pains me to see it every year. It brings me lots of shame to see that kind of humiliation. “ Hate” is not a strong word enough to use in this case.By the time, an African child grows up, because of our education system, he does not see greatness of his country at all. Since kindergarten, we are taught that anything white/European is better. Thanks to Europeanized education system, we are taught every day that Africans are inferior. In middle school, I spent years learning about the 1789 French revolution, WW I and WW II, European leaders ( Adolf Hitler, Napoleon Bonaparte, etc). However, I never learned anything about The Butcher of Congo: King Leopold II of Belgium.Rwanda is a neighbor to DRC. Even Congolese children never learned about the “Congo Free State by King Leopold II”. How do you explain that? The motherfucker and son of bitch who killed millions of Congolese with his “charity organization” he created to exploit the resources of Republic Democratic of Congo for years. He killed, tortured and murdered men, women and children for years. He used the “ charity card” and Christian missionaries to exploit all the resources. Upon his death, he was the richest man in the world. His net worth is estimated to have been between $500 million to a $1 billion ( in 1910 US dollars). Multiple research give different number estimates. His wealth was donated to the Belgian government of course. He is a hero in Belgium. He is got museums, buildings and streets named after him. This is why Africa is “poor”.Our resources enrich everybody else. Ask Africans today about Christianity and charity organizations today. They will tell you that both of these are the main problems plaguing our continent today.Image source: Congolese posing with the severed hands of those failed to make the daily rubber sap quota ( Digital Journal, 1904).Women and Children were not exempt.“The commanding officer ordered us to cut off the heads of the men and hang them on the village palisades, also their sexual members, and to hang the women and the children on the palisade in the form of a cross."The Butcher of Congo: King Leopold II of Belgium. How come I never read any book from some of our own authors such as Chinua Achebe and other amazing African authors. I was busy with European authors and other nonsense that had nothing to do with Africa. You see how it’s messed up, right? This is the biggest problem for me. Education in Africa and how we educate our children. Those who don’t know their history are bound to repeat it. They have no idea of where they have been and where they are going. This is why you see mistakes made in the 50’s are still made today. No changes and nobody has learned. This is what needs to be changed, otherwise, we are kidding ourselves. This is why Africa lags behind. We used to be great, but colonization came and fucked up everything. Since then, we have never been the same. Credit to the Europeans. Our Empires were known to be the great traders and innovators of their time. Look up the history of Empire of Mali in West-Africa, history of our fighters such as Shaka Zulu in South Africa, The Carthage Empire in Northern Africa, the Egyptian Empire in Egypt and elsewhere.Think about it, to this day, nobody can replicate the Pyramids from Egypt. The accuracy, the attention to details, the math, science and innovation that went through building those marvellous pieces of Architecture, how come we never built on those foundations to build and re-invest ourselves after colonization? instead all we got out was tribalism, identity politics, corruption, divisionism, and so many other nonsense. It is a shame and a disgrace. We used to be some of the great traders in the world, but today, we are only known as the biggest beggars and dependent people in the history of mankind. It is a shame and disgrace. There is too many reasons why we have remained poor and still lags behind today. I cannot cover all of them all in one post. But, Africa is Home, I cover most of it and what need to be done. I share my opinions as the “ hard cold truths”. Some do hurt me too, but we have to be frank about our issues as Africans. It is the only way we can progress as one people. Look ourselves in the eyes and say: “Man, we have really fucked up. We are to blame ourselves. Our issues are our problems, and no one else.”Only then, we can start to move ahead in the right direction. We have wasted more than 50 years. My hope is that we start changing and not waste another 30–50 years. In 30 years, I want to look at my children and tell them ( with a straight face) that the “new Africa” they see, I played a small part in changing the status quo.I don’t want them to go study in the West ( like I did). By the time they go to university, I want them to pick any university in Africa and go study there. I want them to be born in Africa, study and work in Africa, and live in a peaceful-progressive Africa. Period.Within my small ways and capacity, I will “fight like hell” starting with my home-country, Rwanda. Hopefully, my fellow Africans strive to do the same in their home countries. So many speeches and quotes from many leaders across the continent already, we need to start translating those “verbal promises” into “action”. Otherwise, we are just kidding ourselves and bullshitting. I will leave you with one quote from one of the few doers I admire and respect today.“We must understand that the time for babysitting is over and that we will never develop as we feel we have a never-ending need for Europeans, Americans, Asians, or other babysitters.” President of Rwanda, Paul Kagame. This quore summarizes my whole post and main answer to your question. As long as Africa is still dependent on Europe, America or Asia with “aid” and not trade, we will keep lagging way behind. Nobody has developed through the “mercy” of others. Why should Africa be different? We know what works and need to do it. Period.Free market capitalism, trade, inovation, business and entrepreneurship.Home | African UnionThank youGod bless Africa.Didier ChampionReferencesAfrica is Home ( My blog on Quora, how to end the cyle of poverty in Africa and take Africa to great levels of economic successs).Africa need to phase out Aid to be politically and economically independent.Charities in Africa. What is special about the Raja Rajeshwara Temple situated in Vemulawada, Telangana?

Thank you Dharun Aditya Senthilkumar (தருண் ஆதித்யா செந்தில்குமார்) for request.I had earlier written an answer on VemulawadaPrashhantham (ప్రశాంతం)'s answer to What is so special about the Vemulawada temple? Why is it revered so much by many communities in many parts of Telangana? In Simple terms, Vemulawada is “TIRUPATHI” for northern plateau of Telugu land or present day Telangana for all its rich ancient history, cultural vibrancy, huge cult following, etc. It is one of the most busiest temples and most frequented temples of Telugu land. Some used to call it as “Second Tirupathi”.Just wanted to summarize few important facts which i missed in earlier answer:Presiding deity of Vemulawada - Sri Raja Rajeshwara swamy or Rajanna is the GUARDIAN DEITY of northern plateau of telugu land. You can compare him to “Murugan” of TN. Owing to this, people in north telangana strictly follow vegan diet on Mondays in allegiance to the deity. Some prefer upavasam and mouna vratha also. The temple is known for special vow/mokku called “kode mokku”, of tying a young ox after fulfilling the wish.It has high Puranic significance, and is said that Lord Shiva had loved to stay here in Vemulawada after staying across all Jyothirlinga kshetras. It is praised as DAKSHINA KASHI, BHASKARA KSHETRAM, KUBERA KSHETRAM, RAJARAJESHWARA KSHETRAM and most importantly as pioneering HARI HARA KSHETRAM and finally as MAHA KSHETRAM. (As per Mythology, Narada has asked Lord Siva about his favourite place other than jyothirlingas, for which he has chosen Vemulawada).Historically, it is the major center of Jain learning in telugu land, and an important center of Vedic learning too. It is the citadel of various ancient and medieval arts and artforms in telnagana .A historical site, where some of the important ancient poets like -Vemulawada Bheemakavi, Pampa kavi (adi kavi of Kannada) , Jinavallabha, Somadevasuri (kannada poet), Malliya Rechana - had thrived. (Most of them are pre-Nannaya era).It is a beautiful Melting pot of Vedic Saiva, vedic Vaishnava, vedic shaktha , native Folk, Jaina, Buddhist, veera saiva cults ! And stands as symbol of co-existence of Indian culture. Hence temple visited by even Jains and Buddhists. I have personally seen buddhists from Vidarbha visiting the site with same devotion as local hindus. Almost all people of Saiva,Vaishnava, Shaktha, Jaina, Buddhist, veera saiva and folk religions freely practive their own rituals and customs.Offering and spraying raw rice and Anna puja for almost all saiva and shaktha deities as a token thanksgiving for blessing the region with bountiful crops is a most visible ritual here. Also, it is one of the rare Saiva temples of South where Shiva and Parvathi share same name (Raja rajaeswara and Raja rajeswari). It is a rarest temple in SouthIndia , where almost every ritual for Shiva and Vishnu is conducted daily and equally and jointly . The rituals of the temple are so much obsessed with Hari-Hara abheda tatva , which reduced the differences among these religions in ancient times and later greatly influenced Kakatiyas (most important rulers of the land,) to adopt this philosophy ,. This is something very special about the temple. Given the relative differences between Vaishnava and Saiva traditions that persisted across South India , this temple stands as perfect unity of these two most influential Vedic cults. As Vemulawada Rajarajeswara is guardian deity for most of northern telangana and baddi pochamma is guardian deity of Vemulawada town, — for many communities in northern and central telangna (erstwhile Karimnagar, Warangal, medak , nizamabad, Adilabad, northern khammam and few eastern parts of nalgonda and rangareddy districts,) and Gadchiroli, candrapur, namded, yavatmal, parbani districts of Maharashtra..visiting Vemulawada and offering prayers to Rajanna and Pochamma is a must before visiting any other pilgrim centers like Tirupathi , Srisailam, ,Medaram, Kashi, Pandaripuram, Kanchi, etc.The temple also special in that it has many amshas of Shiva within main temple and within the temple town. Within main temple , we have many sub temples for Shiva incarnated in the form Sri Raja Rajeshwara (main deity), Someshwara, Uma Maheshwara, Vittaleshwara, Kasi Vishweswara, Balarajeshwara, Dakshinamaurthy, Kalabhairava, Koti lingeshwara. While within the town (less than radius of 500m from main temple) we have Shiva in other forms incarnated in ancient big temples like Bhemmeshwara, Nagareshwara and Kedaraeshwara. And all these amshas have thier associated consorts (different amshas of Parvathi devi) and Lakshmi Ganapathi. In addition , being Hari hara kshetra the main temple also houses many avatarams of Lord Vishnu in sub temples- Anantha Padmnabha swamy (the vedic pantheon considers him as the guardian deity of the temple), Sri Seetha Ramachandra swamy, Venkateshwara swamy and Venugopalaswamy. In addition to this, the main temple has sub temple for Anjaneya and Subrahmanya swamy. Other important thing is that the temple is also home to two important avatarams of Shakthi- Sri Bala tripura sundari, Mahishasura mardini (independently without consorts), and the temple town has ancient Mahalakshmi temple and another Venugopala swamy temple with special sub temple to Andal Amma. And just 3 kms away from temple we have Narasimha swamy temple on Nampally gutta and a kalyana venkateshwara swamy temple .In addition to these , the temple town has very important folk deity of “Baddi ochamma”, who is perhaps the only village deity to receive “Bonalu” or “grama devatha arahdhana” 365 days a year !! Moreover, there are many other unidentified temples of various deities. From the points 5 to 11 you can find out, the main temple and the temple town has many avatars of Shiva, Vishnu, shakthi and even of Grama devathas, —Hence , it is described as MAHAA KSHETRAM (grand pilgrimage).Rajarajeshwara /Rajanna cult is highly prevalent across northern telangana , with many ancient Raja rajeshwara temples like bugga Rajarajeswara, dubba Rajarajeswara, etc are dotted across the region. This is an amalgamation of folk and vedic religions with more preference to smartha traditions. While mallanna cult that is highly popular across telangana (including north telangana) is amalgamation of ancient folk and veera saiva traditions though few vedic rituals also entered mallanna cult from last few centuries. It is one of the rarest millennia old temple of telugu land with highly finished smooth granite carvings in mahamandapa of main temple adjoining garbhagudi . This is perhaps the oldest temple in telugu land with Nataraja sculpture !! The temple and town have large number of sculptures of various Vedic, jain, buddhist and unidentified folk gods and goddesses spread across.Unlike other Siva temples, the rituals of the temple follow “Smatha agamam” and “paancha rathra agamam” (for vishnu temples). Moreover, the temple remained asAs said earlier, almost all festivals of telugus are greatly and grandly celebrated making it cultural nerve center. Some historians associate the temple as the origin of Bathukamma festival.Despite being one of the top most visited temple of Telangana (and larger telugu land) for centuries together. But it was completely absent in popular media of telugu- Cinema. That is why it is not known to many. Finally, many people here live their retired life in service of lord Shiva with “alms”/”bhikha” and hold “Trishula and Jole/bag”. Many people marry lord shiva to get solved their problems. No wonder it is termed as Dakshina Kashi. Some important /special Mysteries/Unresolved anecdotes related to Vemulawada temple:It is unknwon why the main temple is relatively smaller in size than the other Bhimeshwara temple . Some point that the main temple was destroyed by Rajendra chola pointing to some epigraphs of Arikesari -II , the last king of Vemulawada chalukyas. Then question remains- who re-built the main temple? when was it built? Why the main Shiva linga is a Nila-Lohitha Shiva linga and a smaller one in complete contrast to the huge basalt Shiva lingas that is common during Kaktiyan and Chalukyan era??Why the Chola invasion of Vemulawada is not known widely? What might be the reason between great similarity between the architectures of Bhimeshwara temple of Vemulawada and Brihadishwara temple of Thanjavur. Thankjavur is also said to be Rajarajeshwaram. Some point out that paranthaka chola was devotee of Vemulawada Rajarajeshwara and hence named his son as Raja raja. Is it a myth? Any way there is a relation between Thanjavur Chozhas and Vemulawada, which is not clearly documented/available.Adding to this, some point out that Vemulawada chalukyas themselves used to call the raja rajeswara as Brihadeswara and raja rajeswari as Brihadeshwari or Brihadamma. Then when and why the names Raja rajeswara and raja rajeswari had taken precedence/preference over the names of Brihadeshwara and Brihadeswari ?IS the Nataraja sculpture in the main temple is a contribution from chola influence? Or is it other way round? Why there is striking difference in architecture and sculpture of main temple of and associated temple of Bhimeshwara alayam in the town?? Quite interestingly both sculptures are quite old and one can identify them as pre Kakatiyan era.Why Kakatiyas didn’t build/leave any of their architectural imprints in Vemulawada despite their huge patronage for temple, and borrowing of its philosophy?? and despite it is being so near to their capital.Unlike Chalukyan era temples, there is change in stone of mahamandapa pillars (fine polished and intricately carved basalt) with that of Kalyana and addala mandapam in main temple. This change of stones and usage of smoothly polished basalt is quite similar to kakatiyan style of architecture temples. But again the sculpture on the finely carved basalt rock and garbha gudi completely differs from Kakatiyan era and is completely chalukyan. In addition the prakara of main temple is also chalukyan in nature. This again raises doubt if Kakatiyas really contributed to the architecture of this temple. If not , why they didn’t despite being such an important shrine?Despite being most important jain and vedic learning center as known from literature , not much heritage of them is available. only availability of jain heritage is the large spread of individual isolated idols of Jain terthankaras and gods in addition to epigraphs. So question remains where were the original jain temples? Why unlike Kolanupaka in Nalgonda, hanumakonda in Warangal didn’t have a separate temples for Jain and Vedic cults. If destroyed, who had done it? when?It is the last and most important capital of vemulawada chalukyas , who ruled significant parts of telangana then. But still, The forts and other monuments of Vemulwada chalukyas are not present. Not even ruins are left. Why? what happened to them? Why The buddhist heritage of the site is not known accurately known. Who were patronizing the buddhist cult? when was it ended. It is stated that the temple is the rare one to have sustained attacks from invading imperial Islamic forces from North India post the fall of Kakatiyas. When almost every Kakatiyan and chalukyan era temple in Telangana was razed by the forces, it is surprising (and certainly thankful) that this important temple was left out despite accessible and easy terrain. This applies for even bahamanis, Mughlas and Razakars. There is a dargah in the main temple premises, but the stories of its existence are completely contradictory? When accurately did it appear? was it the reason for not being attacked by imperial Islamic forces? Why was it not developed with any extension with new architectures like many temples have seen during Qutub shahi era? what was its status then? The temple being most patronized one , certainly would have received huge donations from people and Kings? But there is no much information regarding it. As it ahs both Shaktha and Vaishnava temples, donations in the form of jewelry is quite common. Only loose idea was that Rajendra chola has taken riches of this temple along with original big Shiva linga.Who maintained the temple all these years, how it sustained the same devotion despite the hostile environment that reduced all other major temples in telnagana for many centuries? Why there is no availability of any archaeological/epigraphic facts related to floral festival of Bathukamma, despite the temple being an important part of this. Interestingly, few evidences of floral festival of bathukamma are found/excavated near Vadapalli narasimha swamy temple on the banks of Krishna river in Nalgonda district .Is the Vittaleshwara swamy in Main temple related to Vitthal, the famous pandarinath /Krishna of Pandaripuram. Incidentally , Vittal is also one of the famous deity in North telangana, thanks to the near by location of Maharashtra. Pnadu ranga is quite famous name across telugu land. Finally, despite huge puranic and historical significance, why the temple was left out of mainstream telugu consciousness??Doubts related to Linguistic heritage :It is known that Vemulawada chalukyas patronized both sanksrit and Kannada officially, but for giving public epigraphs, Telugu was also employed as it was the language of the masses/native people. Why Didn’t they encourage Telugu literature officially. It is not known that whether they had really encouraged it or not.Having said that, who supported the early telugu works like Kavijanasrayam by rechana , and jinendra puranam of Pampa? What was exact era of Vemulawada Bheema kavi? Why the telugu works of Pampa, Jinavallabha, rechana and Bheemakavi got lost? Is it due to lack of official patronage? When there is availability of kannada work of Pampa, why telugu works of him and others were lost?Do the special songs sung during Shivarathri by huge sea of devotees during Maha Siva rathri and also the songs of Bathukamma (which have reference to this temple) tell anything about the missing points of history of this temple.Thank You.

What aspects do Telugus of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana learn and appreciate from each other?

Thanks @thilak for request. This is my most raw answer (purely bad english/ spoken variant), and I am going to get many brickbats for sure !Always, I used to describe Telugu regions as following :రాయలసీమ - రతనాల సీమతెలంగాణ - కోటి రతనాల వీణతీరాంధ్ర - రత్నాకర తీరంThis means all Telugu regions are gems in their own way …and there is lots to share and know about each other . It's fact that no one better understands us than we ourselves !!And I am not all taking up any political garbage ..While I am native of telangaana, having grown up in Hanumakonda and studied/worked in Hyderabad ( most of my 27 years life is in united AP) ..I have observed Telugus of middle and lower middle class of various regions personally and professionally ..With that experience , I want to share what telangaana can learn from AP ..( as I am not a native of AP I can't tell about the other way round)..Of course, telugus in both regions are highly obsessed in amassing wealth. And are hard workers to achieve their goals.First thing , speaking out , telling about our nativity :These days, if we observe the work culture in any MNC, you get to see and hear many slogans “Speak out, Speak up, share your thoughts, express yourself, etc “..Yes , if we ask an average telugu of any place on coastal Andhra or rayalaseema, their specialty, foods, culture, temples and tourist spots near them , many will easily recollect them.. Is this possible because of any third party promotion.. never, the native people of those regions will speak out , publicize and popularize through word of mouth. !! and in this regard, I really appreciate our telugu brethren in AP for the penchant for making their native places popular and recognizable .But if we ask any person about telangaana, we get the answer “ except Hyderabad , we knew nothing “ ..or mostly ' Hyderabad and Warangal ' . That's it. And leave out non-telugus, not even many telugus never knew the information/significance towns or temples , cities, places of interior Telangana !Well, some might skip off saying , its duty of the government (and you can easily have a reason to blame erstwhile Ap government had neglected telangana).. I only partially agree with it.. Governments are an important catalysts for development , but they can never spread organic word of mouth.. it is only done “by the people”..Now tell me how many times we hear people saying that there is nothing in telangana except hyderabad, just because we have no matching tier 2 cities.. But is the land really as unworthy as it ?? Never , we are quite aware of our potential tier 2 cities , economy of hinterland.. but we never bothered to create a recognition or never tried to build a strong perception regarding our native places for telugus of other regions..We should end this and we must start speaking out about our places, atleast with our telugus in first place.. Only if we start speaking , we get to lay foundation for understanding..I will tell you an example, one of my friend , who had virtually no idea of telangana was shocked seeing Karimnagar during his first visit (and asked me why such important town was not in limelight) .And that is why I used to assert in my answers earlier, though warangal is second biggest city of telangana , it is Nizamabad and karimnagar which are financially strong districts of telangana… You know what ? Even not many telugus knew this, .. while warangal is known owing to the fact that culturally famous while the ancient cultural link of Nizamabad and karimnagar is not directly visible as it is hidden by non-telugu names.Otherwise only if people come and visit your town, to assess the significance..will it yield out any result?Second , throwing light on our ancient monuments and temples:I need not tell , how grandly each district of Ap boasts of rich cultural heritage and associated monuments.. I really appreciate Telugus from AP, who strive hard to preserve those monuments..Next thing is that in AP people keep the monuments religious or archeological quite clean..How great people of Godavari districts describe tell about Godavari and their specialties..We know that telangana is a treasure trove of ancient forts, etc.. but most of them are either in ruins are used as no-man ‘s land !!In fact, not just forts, telangana has great number of step wells ( a feature which was one of the unique contributions of Indian architecture spread across North, west and south India)Telangana also enjoys such cultural heritage on the ground, but was never viewed with one..Do you know what are the most under rated telugu districts in terms of temples? .. They are definitely Palamuru / Mahabubnagar and Medak. Yes, quite surprised right ? In fact, western telangana (Ranga reddy, Mahabubnagar, Nizamabad, medak) do have large number of medieval era temples which are quite big after rayalaseema and south coastal ( Ongole and Nellore). In fact medak has two ancient temples similar to Kanchipuram (having bangaru and vendi balli)..Did we popularize the rare and ancient “Matsyavatara temples” of karimnagar, warangal and Nalgonda?Did we talk about the linked temples of Mallikarjuna swamy from Srisailam in south to Komuravelli, inavolu, odelu, etc? These temples , especially inavolu and Komuravelli have jatara for nearly 3 months for every year !!How many temples in west Warangal -Nalgonda have unique formations of nearly perennial springs on s the rock boulders, even in Garbha gudi? did we highlight them?Do we ever tried to tell the important pilgrimages, natural spots in the long journey of Krishna, Godavari, Pranahita, manjeera, maneru, munneru, tungabhadra , penganga, musi in telangana? And how bad the Godavari ghats in Dharmapuri and Basara are maintained, who is responsible , isn’t it local body ?What about other monumentsTS , how many Telugus are aware of beautiful sadarmat anicut, wanaparthy anicut, ichchampally project,Do we know the history of the long serving Godavari rail bridge at mancheryala ??It is one of the few long bridges that is serving more than century !!Let us come to Hyderaabad..For example, in Hyderabad, we are always confining to nizam era infrastructure , qutub shahi architecture, but there equally many ancient - medieval era temples in Hyderabad..how many of us are giving information about them ?? We pridely say that Hyderabad is a cosmopolitan city since centuries ( that true) , but when comes to heritage we excessively rely on nizam era or qutub shahi era, never ever we focus on old Telugu history of Hyderabad ,and mostly we never highlight lot of beautiful temples in and around Hyderabad . Why ? ? This definitely against our idea of cosmopolitan or pluralism !!It is with this building of an identity that makes us to help the stereotypes on us..Do we want people like Versatile pandits like late Adivi bapi raju garu to come and feel surprised to see the great temples and monuments in telangana always? It is our duty to talk and speak about ourselves.. It is our duty to paint about ourselves..And even when we hear the unverified baseless statements like “Telanagana has no temples”, we are not bothering much..And if the capital city itself is poorly represented , I need not talk about how badly the interior telangaaNa is presented..Third, popularizing our native foods:I really appreciate a lot , how our telugus from AP have popularized native foods. And every telugu can easily search for a wide variety of foods from AP..Be it prasadams, snacks, staple food, juices, fruits, dishes, etc..telugus in Ap have virtually put their great cuisine on the food map..And it earned great popularity all over..We also here varieties like Vijayawada, Godavari, Gunturu, nellore, seema , etcBut what about telangana ?When any telugu thinks of native telnagana foods, we get to hear only one thing: Its Nizami influenced, its Hyderaabadi cuisine,.. again, why aren’t there any cuisine of other districts in telangana? is Hyderabad and its cuisine are the only things available here? NO, right..Did we ever clearly hear about karimnagar food or nalgonda food?We enjoy a lot variety of native foods too, but from a common telugu of other regions , we often get to hear the statement lile “Telangana food anta bagodu/ manchi food dorakadu”(There’s no good food available in telangana)..Why?In fact our conservative manner in not revealing wide variety of native recipes ( leave alone marketing ) created that wrong perception among many telugus.. when we don’t tell, who will know what you are??Though snacks like “chakinalu, sarvapindi, etc” got some recognition among telugus, its much below and they are just snacks..Tell me my dear , how greatly our Nalgonda people prepare many unknown varieties of recipes out of “Dosakaya/ cucumber”Karimnagar, a place of great variety of native foods, somehow popularized native snacks like Sarvapindi and chakinalu.. but how many of us knew that Karimnagr is quite famous for tastier snacks like “makka vadalu, makka garelu, makka atukulu”?? Also, a native of Jagitiala, dharmapuri, korutla will also know how tasty are the special “Upma Atukulu” , which are taken as a breakfast and which are also sold on mobile tiffin cneters in those towns?? Moreover, Alashantalau / Alasendalu are quite famous in Karimnagar.. They make alasenda kuura, alsendha ginjala kuura , alsaenda sondelu/gudaalu, alasenda gaareplu/appalu, etc..How tasty they are? why don’t we promote them..?What about bhojanam/meals or atleast in vegetarian style? Again Karimnagar leads the way , has famous vegtarian dishes from caterers hailing from spiritual town of Manthani (an ancient vedic village).. , which is known as vegetarian’s delight. Did we ever publicized it ?Should I need to explicitly mention the grate taste of Jonna rotte of Palamuru? But what about our special food items? What about Prasadams, ? Anybody who have tasted Vemulawada laddu, will never stop asking for more..What about many sweets that we prepare during Batukamma, deepavali ,etc ?What about unique sweet/ prasadam prepared during Karthikama masam jatara at Jedikallu Veerachala Sri Sitaramachandrasswamy alayam - ‘Son Patti” (which is a special sweet prepared only during jatara in that temple town )There are many many like this in this vast area of 10 districts !!Fourth , remembering our great people of our region:I really like the way people from Ap,especially common people , for their celebration of great persons hailing from their native places.Just like how Godavari districts celebrate Mana dokka seetamma garu, pithapuram samsthanam, rayaprolu Subba Rao, devulapally Krishna Sastry, Yella praga Subba Rao Garu, Or how Krishna delta celebrates nayudamma Garu, mailavaram Rani , raja vasireddy , Kavi Guuram jashua,Uttarandhra celebrates bobbili raja vAru, their cultural contributions.. etc Or how Rayalaseema celebrates Vemana, Annamacharya, etcEven the classical artists of various domains are also remembered greatly, nedunuri Garu, pinakapani, P B Srinivas Garu , P Susheela garu etcWhat about in Telangana ?Don’t we have any great persons from our native places .. (in fact , some of my Andhra froiends used to say, we don’t know any person other than PV Narasimha Rao garu from Telangana..)Within Telangaana we have Dharmapuri seshappa kavi (Whose Narasimha Satakam influenced all opver Telugu land), Bhaktha Potana, Ramadasu, krishmachari (who is said to be hailing from present day Palamauru and said to be influenced Annamacharya).., Should I tell about Palkuriki Somanatha and his great lieterary contriutions? (We even have great temple and great jatara at Palakurthi Someshwara Lakshmi Narasimha swamy temple, in Palakurthy, Warangal, every year).. But how many of the region highlight and reconize Somanatha? (He was like Basavanna of Telugu land)..In palamuru we have Suravaram Pratapareddy garu, mannemkonda hanumaddasu, venkatadasu, vepuri hanumaddasu, Gadwala samsthanam, wanaparthy raja vAru ,Should I tell the importance of freedom fighters like Ayilamma, Bhairanpally martyrs, etc and should I tell separately about folk artists? Their immense contribution to telangana’s ancient native telugu arts is inavaluable.. Like Chukka Sattayya garu, Bandi Yadagiri, Kinnera Venna artist (the rare one).. etcHow many telangana people knew that “Gogule poche Gogulu kache “is afolk song is from most revered temple town of Vemulawada and near by areas ..?We also have Natataja ramakrishna Garu (who was pioneer in getting classical status to Kuchipudi, and asage who revived our ancient Perini dance form), oddiraju sodarulu, Hyderabad brothers , sirnapally maharani, kinnera Veena kalakarudu, PV garu ,and many amany great people..Not only this, the prominent pre nannaya era Telugu literary Giants and their works are found here !!We have a great , perhaps only Sikh poet called Ramsingh , near Jagityala in Karimnagar who is called as Ramasimham by karimnagar people.. he was like vemana , crusader against bad customs like child marriage, untouchability ,etc..He wrote poems with sentences like “balyavivaha khandana, vintantu vivaha mandana” !!People constructed temple for his poems ,a very rare gesture of honouring the work and essence of the poet !!Asalu oka Sikh writing in Telugu that too when Telugu was experiencing low under nizam rule !!Though we are proud to have PV garu , but how the masses generally hate him in Warangal _karimnagar region for taking away rail coach factory.. But how many knew that just because of him, Karimnagar railway station was materialized and so is Karimnagar-Nizamaabd line vi peddapalli? He may not have helped his native region.. but don’t we remember he was the one who first brough land ceiling act in AP-Ts, which immensely helped the poor (who suffered under land lords and bonded labor) in telangana.. against all odds.. But his great contribution to the nation during requirted time and his knowledge in multiple domains should be appreciated and celebrated irrespective of his caste, his contribution to development of native land.. He saved whole nation from Punjab separatism, and economic bankruptcy !!Do we know that there existed a great personality called Dahagam Lakshmi Narayana garu who hails from karimnagar district and who migrated to to Nagpur in early 20th century and became a great industrialist and philanthropist.?. He donated his lands to Nagpur University and establkished Lakhmi Narayana Institute of Technology in Nagpur, still you can see his statue in those institutes... he was among the first Indians to have Britishers as his helpers !!Interesting thing is that Dhagam garu, being telugu from karimnagar wanted to donate his wealth for the education of telugus, he wanted to establish university in telugu land (nizam didn’t accept), he also tried to donate land to Andhra University (but somehow due to various reasons that was not received well).. he later, donated it to Nagpur University.. But his penchant for helping telugus in some or other manner didn’t satisfy.. So he donated most of his personal collection of books from various domains, his personal library to Andhra University !! It is said that the books studied by old generation of AU has atleast one book donated by DLN garu..Ekkada Karimnagar abbayi , ekkada AU??I need not tell about Oddiraju Sodaraulu and their versatile contribution??Prashhantham (ప్రశాంతం)'s answer to Do you know any multitalented person?Thing is that we need to celebrate and speak out about our gems, otherwise no one will know about telangana !!Fifth, Associating with our ancient heritage:AP people have no qualms in changing the names of their places to reflect the ancient heritage.. so are Kannadigas, tamizhs and marathis.. But we in telangana still though happy to associate with name change (if it happens), but not so enthusiastic to propel that change unlike our neighbors !!in fact the non-native names to purely native telugu regions like Karimnagar, Nizamabad , adilabad, mahabubnagar is standing as an obstacle to construct the great cultural perception of our native Telugu regions.Once some of my friends from south used to say “that there is no telangana , no karimnagar, no mahabubnagar before nizam..” though his intentions were regarding names.. but he would not have taken such stand had ournames been telugu..In fact some of my class mates used to ask “what is so special in karimnagar that makes it more developed than Warangal and makes it place of many pilgrimages?”Thing is that many just view it as “epicenter of telangana movement” and earlier left wing extremism affected district (not much beyond that), but it is one of the most ancient and culturally strong telugu region. (But the name is hiding this)..Telugus, Just listen the words of Chaganti garu..And I am not against any particular religion in this .. its just that given the antiquity of south Indian languages, any urdu-Hindi naming will seem as more modern or less in antiquity !!I need not describe and speak about great amount of ancient folk arts of telangana like Yaksha ganam, oggu katha, etc.., their antiquity, the classical language they employ (despite being a folk art,).. How much we are telling about them..How beautiful the artists sing in those ancient arts? Infact chindu yakshaganam is touted to be an very ancient telugu folk art that is still thriving..I want to write on dialect too , but it may turn too long..Sorry if I hurt anyone unknowingly with this tad too long rubbish practically useless answer (my ideas just work in theory , not in practice).. Nevertheless, I am open for discussions and edits..You may tell that , it is the duty of government .. but wait regarding culture and temples, its people first , next government..Thank You..
