In consideration of other visitors, mobile phones must be switched off.Photography and filming for non-commercial purposes are encouraged in the outside areas of the Castle Precincts. Best use of a drone would be for photography/videography specially for shots from an elevation. My drone was a saviour for my wedding as it took better clicks and videos that the so called wedding photography i had hired, who changed a high price and delivered sub standard quality with lame excuses. Keep in mind a permit/ permission is required to use drones in public areas.

If you get a drone pilot licence, or whatever it is called in your country, get liability insurance and find your market, e.g. wedding photography/videography, commercial and domestic construction sites, roof inspections, some areal mapping, farming etc. then yes, why not.But if you plan to use it as a hobby and hoping to make some money out of it as a bonus with minimal expenses then forget it.I started flying drones when it was still a grey area.For instance, in Victoria, Australia flying drones in National parks was not a big deal. All I had to do is ask in the main tourist office at a particular location and they would go: “what’s a drone? Oh that.. um yeah I guess… sure whatever”There were no signs with a picture of a drone and a big red cross over it that said “Strictly no drones”.Even though I used it for hobby purposes, I did upload some videos to YouTube under my business name and it was not illegal.It is very different nowadays. All national parks have these “no drones” signs and you would need a special permit to fly drones almost anywhere.As drones became more and more widespread and affordable - people started flying them everywhere without any regard to anyone, ignoring basic safety rules and common sense. So a few idiots ruined it for everybody.To be honest I am not sure how the drone industry is still afloat.I had to sell my drone because well, as a hobby it stopped being worth my while.First, in Australia one needs to apply for a permit to fly in National parks. And guess what - the best places to film are in the national parks! You have to apply for one in advance and plan everything around that date. But you know drones and bad weather don’t like each other so you have to reschedule often and apply for another permit. And the application is not free.So when you apply for a permit you also need liability insurance. You don’t need a drone pilot licence if your drone is under 2kg - e.g. DJI Phantom 4. But..When you apply for a liability insurance they actually ask for a drone pilot licence. So it is a vicious cycle.For someone who hasn’t made a cent from drone videos (but lots of fun), it is just not worth it anymore.Thanks for the A2A.
