PDF Editor FAQ

What is the true meaning of life? If it is all for nothing in the end, everything dies. People, planets, galaxies everything.

Yes, the world is limited as it exists in the realm of space-time. No form in Reality has much time, relatively speaking. All will decay and die.Consciousness, however, is not bound by any laws. Eternal and Infinite, Consciousness is what makes objective experience possible. Consciousness is Reality itself or Life itself, which metamorphoses from form to form. Consciousness alone exists in continuity as everything in space-time appears and disappears from within its ever Present Being. The nature of Consciousness is Being and Knowing. The purpose of Life is to Live. Since Life is Consciousness itself, Living is the recognition of Consciousness as one’s self.I Am Consciousness/Life.Knowingly Being Conscious is ultimately the True purpose of Life.

Can the perceiver be perceived? If so, by what is it perceived?

How can the ULTIMATE Perceiver be perceived by anyone outside of the Ultimate Perceiver - outside of itself? If that were the case, then the one who was Perceiving the perceiver would be the actual or Ultimate Perceiver because the perceived would still be an OBJECT of perception. In other words, the ultimate Perceiver must be IRREDUCIBLE or Infinite - not limited to the subject-object relationship of perception. The irreducible Perceiver must BE PRIOR to any THING or object in or of perception. So if you’re talking about the Absolute or Irreducible Perceiver then yes it can be ‘perceived’ in the sense that it Knows itself, but ONLY by BEING itself, and not by any thing ‘outside’ looking ‘in’ at another ‘thing’ with dimensions in time and space (because there is no ‘outside’ or ‘inside’ - no time or space - for the Infinite).(It can also be said that the Ultimate Perceiver cannot itself be perceived because it has no dimensions, but in the sense that the Ultimate Perceiver is experiencing itself through itself, by itself, as itself..it can be said that KNOWING Knows itself or as Rupert Spira says, “Knowing Knows only Knowing). If you’re talking about a perceiver which can be further reduced because it is a subject relating to an object, then it’s not the True Perceiver anyway. That’s how I see it anyway.

If the self is an illusion, is there an observer to consciousness?

Edit: I came back to this question and realized that I would now approach the reply differently. Maybe the question was changed or maybe I am more myself. Anyway, I would say:If we consider the self to be our body-mind (thoughts, feelings, perceptions) existing separately from, and within, a world made of matter, then the self is an illusion in that this ‘self’ is not actually ME (the observer). Why? Because thoughts, feelings, perceptions, and matter cannot observe anything. They don’t do the observing, they are the observed.By whom or what are they observed? Pure Awareness (or Pure Consciousness) is that which observes all experience. Pure Consciousness (regardless of the experience) is the KNOWING element in all experience and does not come in any shape or form. Pure Consciousness is not a body-mind (as it cannot observe), and yet we refer to this Knower as “I”.I am the one who is Aware of all my experiences. In other words, Pure Consciousness and the Self which observes the ‘body-mind’ and ‘world’ are ONE and the same. Pure Consciousness IS the Self that I Am, and not the self that I think and believe I am (body-mind).It is Pure Consciousness (or Self) which observes (Knows) itself because Pure Consciousness is SELF ILLUMINATING and has no periphery or boundary which some ‘other’ observer could cross, stand apart from and look back to say ‘I can see Consciousness.’Reality is undivided. It is ‘not two’. That which Knows all experience is that which makes experience possible. Reality is the observer and the observed ever Present all at ONCE.————————————————————Don’t mistake the CONTENT of Consciousness with Consciousness itself. That’s why I prefer the word Awareness to Consciousness, because people tend to get confused between the fact that “I am Aware” versus “what I am aware OF” (content). That is, people often view the word ‘consciousness’ in one of two ways:Consciousness is the state of a mind that is ‘awake’ vs when it is asleep or ‘absent’ (unconscious).OrConsciousness is the content of my mind (ie: the objects in Consciousness of which I am aware). The ‘self’ is not an illusion in that ‘there is no one experiencing experience’, rather it is called an illusion because the true self is Awareness and not what you THINK is yourself (the body-mind).The ‘limited self’ is an illusion because one has identified unlimited, infinite Awareness (which can never be absent or subject to death) as a limited, finite body-mind organism (which is intermittent and subject to deterioration and death).‘Self’ is not an observer of Consciousness but rather, Consciousness is the field of Knowing in which the perceived ‘self’ appears as an object. This ‘object’ we identify as ‘myself’ is mistaken for the ‘subject’ of experience (the observer), rather than being recognized as a projection of the Ultimate Observer, which is the Light of Consciousness or Awareness itself.Awareness is not what you are aware OF, it is that which exists in continuity (like an eternal light) which allows all experience to be Known, regardless of the content of that experience (like my thoughts about being a contained ‘self’.)Ask yourself in ANY experience, what is that which is always here, ever constant? Is your name always here? Your gender? Your religious views? Your political inclinations? Your job qualifications? Or do all of those things appear when you think of them and disappear when you stop thinking of them?So what IS always here? If you are depressed you are aware of it. If you are happy you are aware of it. If you have a dentist appointment you are aware of it. If you are smelling a flower you are aware of it.What is the common denominator in all experience? It is simply the fact that one is Aware, regardless of what one is aware OF.PS- Ultimately, it is Awareness which is Aware of Awareness. The word ‘Awareness’ and ‘Aware’ In this sentence can be replaced by ‘Consciousness’ and ‘Conscious’. As long as what is meant by ‘Consciousness’ is the continuous Conscious Presence and not the objects (or perceived subject we call ‘self’) of that Consciousness which come and go.
