Here is a list of rules which I used to play with. I guess a lot of people across the globe (at least in India) also follow these rules in some way or other.Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar: For the first game, batting is decided by toss. After that the team winning last match bats first in next match.Ulta Bat Out: If you hit the ball with the back side of bat, then you are out.Last Man Batting: The last batsman can play without the non-striker. Usually a team of n players is considered allout if (n-1) get out, since the last batsman can't play alone. In this scenario the end for run out is decided by the half of pitch batsman is currently in.Common Man: If there are odd number of people then one person will play as common player. He can't bowl, but can bat as the last batsman of each team, and he has to field for both teams. Usually the worst player is made common man.All Players Fielding: If number of players are not enough, then all the players of batting team except the two batsmen will also field.Off/Leg Side Batting: If number of players are not enough and teams don't agree on 'All Players Fielding', then the runs scored on the leg/off side won't count. In such scenario all players will only field in off/leg side of the pitch.Numbering: If number of players are not enough to form two teams, and are not enough even to play 'Off/Leg Side Batting', then the game is played without making teams. Here every player is on his own. The player who scores maximum runs wins and similarly other players are ranked.Batting order is decided by a lot of methods (bowling order is reverse of batting). Most common two are:1. One player (say 1) will be turned back and one player (say 2) will make number on his back with his fingers such that the player (1) can't see it. Then the player (1) names other players and everybody is assigned number which the other player (2) was making at that time.2. One player will write numbers on ground and hide it with bat, there will be line protruding out of the bat corresponding to each number. Every player will select one line, and hence will be numbered accordingly. For more details see image.Now some rules which were mostly used in under arm cricket.PS: Under arm cricket: If playing area is not big enough, then bowlers will bowl under arm. And pitch is much shorter than the normal pitch.Fast Appeal: If a bowler is bowling too fast then batsman can appeal against it. If bowler bowls fast again then the ball is considered no ball.Chakka Out: Since playing area is small, to avoid batsman from hitting big shots, the six is considered as out.Exception: If the bowl hits a fielders before going for six, then six runs are awarded and batsman is not considered out.One Tip One Hand: Batsman will be out if fielder catches the ball either directly (like a normal catch) or after it is bounced once. But in the later case fielder must use only one hand.
