So I had meeting with my manager and HR head and they said we will totally support you.So the date came for my surgery which was in last week of May,unfortunately I had 2 more minor surgeries which took the total leave to 2 months that is towards Mid of July.So Finally My manager asked me to come and meet HR head of India Division so we can discuss the way forward.This is On 31st July.In the meeting I requested them to extend my leave by 1.5 more months so that I can de done with radiation I also told them that I could work from home during radiation therapy and I will join them within 2–3 weeks if required or I told them that if required I will go to hospital Early in the morning since my shift starts in evening I will be able to come to office by then but there might be few days when I might get late and I will try my best to ensure that I will be available in office on time.And then the usual crap oh no the business gets affected you should understand , we can't allow work from home as there is risk of data breach( but our US counterparts work from home all time) and then my manager gave his story saying You also understand that we had 2 aitrations in last 3 months and it has also affected business( yah I Know but you only decided not to hire their replacements) .Unfortunately they didn't agree to it and the funny part is that it was them wo wanted me to leave the job but i had write the resignation letter. More funny part is them saying we will hire you back once you are alright since you are our top perfomer well then why are you asking to me to leave in First place.When I meet my fellow patients in hospital they have similar stories and there are people who worked for their organizations for 9–10 years but still when time came the company didnt gave a flying fuck about them.They might also not hire my replacement cost cutting you see.Edit:It sucks that Quora won't allow me to comment Anonymously.Firstly I would like to thank everyone for their support and their wishes.Each one of you is awesome .I would just like to address few questions asked Firstly with the name of organization At this point I don't want to reavel the name maybe because I fear that they won't hire me back the job market is pretty much fucked right now, and may be because i dont know I just don't want to. I think this is not to much to expect.Coming to my health I am almost back to normal now and just started with my radiotherapy. The main issue with wealth inequality, is the type of wealth we are talking about.Some items are commodities. Something like a chair for example.If people don't like the price of a chair, they can just decide not to buy one. You can own a chair, but you cannot own another human.What about something like access to land?Land is not a commodity good. We end up with people dying of cold exposure in front of empty houses. We end up with working poor forced to pay most of their income to live in bad conditions.Land is a finite resource, if someone owns 50% of the land, that means there is less for everyone else.Having a state granted monopoly for 15 years is also form of wealth that is quite different from chairs or apples. One that is entirely artificial.What is the problem with wealth inequality? What if someone owns 4 chairs and you one, what does that impact you?But what about when someone else has 200 000 patents? It means that there are hundreds of thousands of things you are not allowed to do.When the political system of the most powerful organizations doesn't give everyone an equal vote, when instead you get votes according to how many shares you own, according to your wealth… Then wealth inequality does have an impact.It means that most workers don't have a place at the table when it comes to decisions being made about their daily lives.What about all your information?The fact that people are constantly spied on, that their data is gathered, and then bought and sold, to be used for marketing and political manipulation?This is again a form of wealth that is quite different from chairs.Do we have a system where the government or corporation spying on me owns all the data, or am I the owner of my information?If the corporation owns all of the information generated by the interaction, and the users own nothing, that’s a form of wealth inequality that is very questionable.Even with something like money, it’s not really like chairs.Some people say that it doesn’t matter if some have billions, and others nothing.But in fact, if there is even any talk of something like printing money and giving it to the poor, suddenly they remember terms like inflation, suddenly how much money someone else has does impact them, suddenly it’s supposed to be a finite supply.When the wealthy get wealthier, it is said that it doesn’t affect anyone else.It’s not a 0 sum game. The extra money just appears in their pocket, but doesn’t come from anyone else.But when it comes to helping the poor? Suddenly, it IS a 0 sum game, there is no way to help them without taking something away from someone else!It seems to only go one way.
