PDF Editor FAQ

Why did you choose IRS over IAS?

Thanks for the A2A. I have been asked this question repeatedly since the result and I'll try to explain my service preference here at some length.Disclaimer: The purpose of this post is not to promote IRS as a better service over other services or to encourage others to join IRS over other services, the intention of this post is only limited to explaining my personal decision of giving first preference to IRS(IT).Here is a copy of the service preferences that were filled by me in the Detailed Application Form ('DAF').To explain the above, I'll have to give details about my background. I am a Chartered Accountant and a Company Secretary by qualification. Taxation has been my favorite subject right from my CA IPCC days. Moreover, I pursued my 3-year CA Internship in the Corporate Tax team at Deloitte. I had a great time working in Deloitte and I absolutely enjoyed my work in the tax field. I believe I have a theoretical bent of mind being a person who likes to read and write a lot and taxation provides me a career option that suits my strengths. I found taxation to be very interesting because of the inherent complexities involved in the law, the need to keep oneself updated about latest judicial decisions, and the opportunities arising due to latest events taking place at the international level.Further, my experience with Deloitte gave me the opportunity to visit the tax office often and interact with various IRS officers. It was during this time that I felt that I would wish to switch sides and sit on the other side of the table in the tax office. I felt that being a tax officer, instead of being a tax consultant, would give me the best of both worlds: Pursue my interest in taxation and grow at an intellectual level in the field of my choice; and at the same time, create a more direct impact through my work towards the growth of the country. All in all, I had wanted my career path to be confined to taxation - be it in the private sector or the public sector. I attempted the Civil Services Exams with a limited objective of joining the IRS (Income Tax being my first choice and C&CE being my second choice). However, I felt that giving preference to only 2 services out of 24 in the DAF would have made me appear to be very rigid and inflexible before the Interview Board and therefore, I took a conscious decision of choosing the middle path by giving preferences to only the Commerce-related services! It was a gamble which fortunately paid off!To conclude, I would say that the Civil Services should not be just about serving the nation, it should be about serving the nation to the best of your capabilities! Decisions about service preferences should be based on YOUR interest fields, YOUR strengths and weaknesses, and also, YOUR gut feeling, and not based on what others think is best for you. A unique service preference should not be seen as a sign of disrespect towards any other service in particular (I made a similar clarification even before the Interview Board!). Civil services is afterall a job and there is no point being in a job which you don't enjoy EVERY DAY of your long career!

Why hasn't the UK government given some actual facts about the consequences of “no deal” Brexit as it seems very likely?

Because it would the confirm the stupidity of implement the no-deal Brexit crisis.“I am equally clear that no deal for Britain is better than a bad deal for Britain.” Theresa May, UK prime minister, 17 January 2018Reading the UK government’s no-deal Brexit crisis technical notes reveals the stupidity of Mrs May’s statement. Yet, the government refuses to explain the sequence of events during the no-deal Brexit crisis. But reading these government no-deal technical notes confirms possible airline disruption where stranded passengers will not be assisted or compensated. Where travellers need new paperwork without any certainty that there will be sufficient application forms. The NHS stockpiling medicines. Roads converted to store delayed lorries making international deliveries. Businesses requiring costly new technical assistance. And still no government word on the legal rights of EU citizens. The no-deal Brexit crisis is yet another Brexit contradiction. Ministers are keeping secret the consequences of a policy which they publicly advocate for fear it will confirm the idiocy of pursuing it.

What kind of people are rejected for membership in the CCP?

The Chinese Communist Party is extremely difficult to join.Yes, you heard me right. Extremely difficult. So the answer to this question “What kind of people are rejected for membership in the CCP” is:Most applicants. The best way to join the CCP is when you move up in your education system, you stick to the party rank. Primary School is the Young Pioneers, which includes 100% of the pupils. Middle School to High School, Communist Youth League, which is like 60% - 80%.University would recruit CCP members, you submit your application form, essay, and your local Party Consultant would assess your merits, for some time, and most people who apply and are not a total mess would very likely be admitted. This is the only realistic and practical way to join the party, is when you are in University. Probably by sophomore or junior, you can become a CCP member. But not a lot of people would be bothered to do so. Because politics feels extremely boring compared to going to the basketball court, internet cafe, and love hotels with your girl/boyfriend.CCP members in Universities have to devote a chunk of their time participating in CCP community’s schedule. Going to party events, helping with propaganda effort (design posters, videos, advertisements, write articles, etc.), performing philanthropic endeavors. And if there are disasters, or national events, you have to spend your time helping with stuff.Even if you have already become a member but grow unenthusiastic about the CCP’s way of life, your Party Consultant will put you into probation period, and if there were no improvement, you get your membership revoked. And if you missed the chance in University, you go out to society and worked, and suddenly one day you became interested in politics and decided to join the party, it would be much more difficult for you.My friend, for example, never had one ounce of interest in CCP when he was in University. But when he found out being a party member can have potential benefits to his job (his company had just started to do business with the government), so he applied for CCP membership. He was still in probation period, and he see no sign of getting in the CCP…for almost 4 years now, and counting.By the way, if you teach in public schools, it is almost required to be a CCP party member. So, to sum it all up:When you live in the People’s Republic of China, you receive all your education all the way up, the CCP provides you with a “ladder” to be a CCP member the easy way.If you missed the “ladder” along the way, it would be difficult for you to join, they by-default question your motives and loyalty, which translates to a ridiculous amount of probation time (years)Even if you have joined the party, it wouldn’t be a “one ticket to staying-with-the-CCP-forever-town”, you can get your membership revoked rather easily

Comments from Our Customers

CocoDoc makes it easy to upload and send documents for signatures. As someone who has to use the same template documents to generate hundreds of separate documents for signature, I really appreciate the templates feature. I can upload a document, add the fillable fields just once, and then replicated that fillable / signable document hundreds of times so quickly and easily. It saves me so much time.
