I recently travelled to Montreal Canada for a seminar. I applied for the visa on 4 March by creating an account at “Canada Visa”. I was asked to submit the following documents:travel history for the past 10 years which showed entry and exit stampsa passport containing my both old passport and newer passport informationinvitation letter from the institution where I was invited to give a talkproof of means of financial support documents such as bank statements, pay stubs, employment letter, tax reports etcdigital photofamily information.I uploaded a cover letter for the same showing the need of the visitor visa by 28 March. For the visa fees, I had to pay 185CAD$ (100 for the visa fees and 85 for the biometrics). As soon as I submitted these, I got an auto-generated mail showing the confirmation of online application transmission.On 5 March, I got another update stating the application was received by Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).On 6 March, I received another update asking to submit the biometrics to the Visa Application Centre or Application Support Centre and USCIS. On 7 March, I gave my fingerprints and photo to the Visa Application Centre in Austin, Texas.On 14 March, I got another email showing that my biometrics is valid for 10 years. On the same day, I was asked to submit the passport to nearby Visa Application Centre or Canada itself. The IRCC letter stated that the decision is made on my application. I chose to submit the passport and the letter to Visa Application Los Angeles. I used TTservices for the same. The application was received by them on 18 March and they sent the application to the IRCC office on 19 March. I received another update on 20 March saying that my application was under process and a further update that the processed decision envelope has been dispatched to IRCC office. On 21 March, I received a couple of updates saying the decision envelope is being processed and is couriered to my address. On 22 March, I received my stamped passport.
