How does life insurance work?
Try this site where you can compare quotes://INSURECOMPAREQUOTES.US/index.html?src=compare//RELATEDSomeone American please answer this Q about Car Insurance?I am debating on whether or not to do a roas trip in america. I am English and will be 19 and have 1 years no claims when i go. I am male aswell btw (double the price of insurance lol). How much can i expect to pay for insurance and is it possible to buy a car there and insure it??? Obviousily i want to buy a cool non-european car like a dodge to do it in…is that impossible. I would prefer it if you could give me figures for car insurance per month.“If I reported someone for a hit-and-run, can my insurance company raise my rates?”My Dad takes care of our family car insurance policy with Mercury. Recently, they have asked about an incident which matches the date of a hit-and-run which I reported to police. Someone backed up into my car while I was not-in-motion, waiting to turn left at a four way intersection. They refused to pull over or get out of their car, and sped off soon after, so I reported it to the police. Now, Mercury wants to talk to me about it. The problem is that my Dad is convinced they will use this against me to get more money from us, because I was the only party who reported the incident. I did not file a claim with my insurance company because the only damage was minimal. How should I best handle this? It seems absurd that doing the right thing— reporting an irresponsible driver— could result in a penalty for me, doesn’t it?”Short-term car insurance?Im looking for a company that will do short-term (preferably 3 weeks but a month is fine) car insurance for a 17 year old male with a provisional licence, can anyone recommend one?”Car Accident and Insurance? On 7/24 I was at a Dairy Queen drive thru the person behind me hit the truck I was driving. I was looking at her in the rear view mirror the entire time. She had a cigarette hanging from her mouth that was unlit and she eventually backed up after hitting me. I got out of the truck and looked and I did not see any damage. She then said I didn’t move you hit me I then told her No I did not hit you I am in front of you and this truck was never in reverse. Since there was no damage to the truck I did not bother getting any of her information since it was not my fault. On 7/27 I got a call from the police saying she told them I hit her. I gave them my side of the story and they said she had a witness who was a passenger in her car and they will be in touch. I also let them know I had a witness as well. The cop called me back yesterday and wanted to get my insurance information so her and I could exchange information. My question is do I have to give my insurance information to this cop? I did not hit this woman and I think she is trying to get one over on the insurance company. The cop said yesterday I’m surprised the truck does not have any damage because her car does have damage. This truck was a rental truck which was inspected at the time it was dropped back off at the rental company obviously there was no damage to it. This woman looked like she was on something to begin with and I’m guessing she was not paying attention probably looking for a lighter and let off the break and hit me. Which I still don’t see how her car would be so damaged. I don’t want this con artist having my information. So should I tell the cop I am not giving him my insurance information and tell her to take it to court? Should I get a lawyer? I’m not sure what to do I am 29 years old and I have never been in a accident so I am not sure how to go about this but I know this woman is trying to pull a fast one and I am not going to sit back and let it happen.Best Choice for Car/Insurance Price?I am 21 and will be going shopping for a car under my own name where I will actually be making the payments and insurance for once I was wondering what kind of car would be a good choice I prefer nothing older than a 2007 and preferably like a Honda civic, Scion TC, maybe a mustang, jetta, nothing too horrible on gas and something I won’t look lame in lol. Keep in mind I dont want something that is going to make my insurance too high I want a good rate on my insurance. Factors to know is that I am 21 year old MALE in Houston, TX. I really want to know what would be a good combo, like what car should I get to get the best deal on my insurance. oh and my deductible on collision/comprehensive i dont want to have more than $500 each.”How much would a jeep commander insurance cost if you have state farm?I was wondering how much would the insurance cost and what is the average pay for insurance?California or Ohio ?Which place would be better to stay ?Car Insurance query (involved in accident)?Yesterday I was involved in an accident, I was stopped on the motorway when a car was going too fast crashed right into the back of me, pushing me into the van in front, the recovery guy who picked my vehicle up said it prob will be written off due to its age. My questions are: a - I am an additional named driver on the policy with direct line, the policy holder in my mum, we didn’t select for courtsey car, and my friend seems to think that the person who crashed into me, his insurance company should provide me with one? And if so how do I go about this? b - I think I may have whiplash, my neck is extremley sore and I can’t look to right and left without turining my whole body, I am going to doctor’s tomorrow, do I get compensation for this as it said online you can claim loss of earnings but at the moment I am unemployed. I spoke to Direct Line who advised providing the man admits it was his fault (I can’t see him not as it clearly was) then my mum won’t loose her no claims. Thanks”I just totalled my car. How much money can I expect from the Insurance company?Car is a 2001 Chevy Malibu. Was in great shape. If you know a thing or two about cars please help me out. Thanks.Would owning a Honda Civic coupe increase my car insurance rates?I’m 18 & planning to switch to a Honda Civic soon. I’m meaning to get a coupe, but I heard that my insurance rate would go sky-high just because it’s a coupe. Is this true? & if so, by how much? Thanks.”
How do illegal immigrants get hired for jobs when every job I've had required me to be a citizen and show a birth certificate and an SS number?
First, two of the answers here kind of hint towards what I want to say about this, but don't really go into the level of detail I'd like to present on the issue. One is from Illinois, which, let’s be honest is near the wrong border for this problem.Second and I know you didn't use the term asker, but I want to be clear about this too: let's call a spade a spade. I refuse to use the term “undocumented”. It's a term used by people who want to normalize illegal immigration and deflect attention away from the fact that it illegal immigration is a crime, and not a victimless one.I live in Houston, TX, which has one of the highest populations of illegal aliens of any city in the country.I also live and work in a section of the city that is populated primarily by illegal immigrants. The short answer to your question is this: when there are almost zero repercussions for doing so, an employer will select the illegal alien every time. Why, you ask?Illegals are not entitled to worker protections.Illegals are not entitled to minimum wageIllegals do not pay taxes, so employers don't have to eitherIllegals aren't entitled to benefits, even if other legal employees areIllegals are easy to manipulate, because their ability to stay under the radar (and in the country) can change with one phone call.It would require massive audit of almost every business in the city to root out the employers who hire illegal immigrants. No legal citizens want to report it in their workplace because it could jeapordize their own jobs. The biggest offenders, from what I've seen are the following:Small businessesConstruction companiesGeneral labor companies, such as landscaping and janitorial servicesLarge retailers like Walmart and such have a harder time because they are under much greater scrutiny from the government. Fast food restaurants with franchisees can get away with more because of the gap between the franchisee and the corporate parent. Here in Houston, it is virtually impossible to get a construction job as a legal citizen. When I was transitioning from the military I was heavily interested in the trades. I like working with my hands, and the apprenticeship system appealed to me.I couldn't get a single bite for six months of trying, entry-level helper and apprentice positions. I found out why later.I was employed as a security officer at a building that was in the final stages of construction. Still a lot going on, but close enough to finished to get a certificate of occupancy.Part of my job was to check every single construction worker in and hold their IDs as collateral for keys they were issued.Every single ID was from a Central American country. Not one of them had a US issued ID.This wasn't one or two guys. It was no less than 30 at any given time. Sometimes up to 100.We had all of the following on site:PipefittersWeldersIronworkersCarpentersStonemasonsPaintersElectriciansHVAC TechniciansPlumbersAll skilled trades, with tons of American demand for.Not “only the jobs Americans don't want to do”, as some apologists say.I would have loved to do any one of those for a living, but I can't get hired because these employers know I would want to be paid what the job was worth. Why pay me $15/hour plus benefits to be an apprentice when you can pay an illegal $9/hour and work him to death without providing health insurance?I honestly don't blame the illegal immigrants as much as I do the employers who take advantage of their cheap labor, and the politicians who have castrated our law enforcement agencies ability to harshly enforce our immigration laws. The opportunity is there, why not take it? I'd do the same thing in their shoes if it would provide a better life for my children. The key to this issue is to make illegal immigration simply not worth the effort. These unscrupulous employers create demand for illegal immigration when they hire illegal immigrants. To really stamp this problem out, we have to make using illegal labor so risky and potentially ruinous for a business that it isn't worth it. These companies only speak one language: money. If hiring illegals carried the risk of losing much more than they would save, they wouldn't use illegal labor.By the same token, make the legal process easier for those with skills we need. Something like the stipulations many EU countries have where proof that no native citizen was qualified for the job prior to opening it to foreign talent is required.
Why do many American conservatives believe that Christianity is under attack in the US?
First I do not really think that they believe Christianity itself is under attack, just their religious liberties.Wishing someone ‘Merry Christmas’ is hate speech. Two US Senators that say anyone must pass a religious litmus test before serving in public office. Senators Dianne Feinstein and Dick Durbin, Democrats from California and Illinois, questioned one of President Trump’s judicial nominees, Notre Dame law professor Amy Coney Barrett, who is now confirmed. The senators referenced a law review article Barrett, a practicing Catholic, had written in the ’90s. In it she argued that if a Catholic judge believed his faith would preclude him from ruling objectively in a capital punishment case he should recuse himself in favor of another judge without such a moral conflict. In other words, Barrett was arguing that judges should avoid allowing their faith to distort their rulings on legality. Here is how the senators interpreted Barrett’s position:‘When you read your speeches, the conclusion one draws is that the dogma lives loudly within you,’ Feinstein said. ‘And that’s of concern when you come to big issues that large numbers of people have fought for for years in this country.’Durbin, meanwhile, criticized Barrett’s prior use of the term ‘orthodox Catholic,’ saying it unfairly maligns Catholics who do not hold certain positions about abortion or the death penalty. ‘Do you consider yourself an orthodox Catholic?’ he asked her outright.Could you imagine being asked about your religious beliefs during any other interview setting? I’m old enough to remember when it was considered immoral to question whether Barack Obama’s 20-year patronage at Reverend Jeremiah Wright’s church could have influenced his ideas. The Obama administration regularly referred to our First Amendment right to freedom of religion as “freedom of worship,” narrowing the freedom to practice our faith freely to only being allowed to do so in worship services. When they replace “religion” with “worship,” they mean, “Sure, you can go to church, but don’t you dare bring those beliefs outside the confines of that building. Don’t you dare allow those beliefs to govern your behavior outside of your place of worship.” In June, Sen. Bernie Sanders grilled Russell Vought, President Trump’s nominee for deputy director of the Office of Management and Budget, about his Christian beliefs, referring to them as, “indefensible, hateful and Islamophobic.” What it says: they’re the most tolerant people in the world so long as you think exactly the same way as they do.Subpoenas against Pastors: in 2014, the then-mayor of Houston, TX, Annise Parker, subpoenaed sermons in her city which mentioned gender identity or homosexuality. These are topics which pastors have the right to mention in their sermons without fear of being prosecuted.Hatred and Violence toward People and Organizations who Oppose LGBT Marriage: in 2012, a man shot a person at the Family Research Council’s Washington, D.C. building. Family Research Council is a socially conservative group which believes in religious liberty, the pro-life movement, and traditional values. The man orchestrated this shooting because he hated FRC’s views on homosexual marriage which he later admitted when he pleaded guilty to the shooting.Bans on Religious Activities in the Military: Anti-Christian groups have tried to have veterans’ memorials torn down for containing religious symbols. Their complaints have resulted in lawsuits. Private owners have been forced to buy the land to avoid the destruction of memorials. The making fun of it, “Tooth fairy in the sky”Business’s refusal not for every day service but for wedding service. Now whether or not you agree or disagree if a baker should be forced to bake the cake, the matter was that the baker did not get a fair shake before the Colorado civil rights commission, which he described as “neither tolerant nor respectful of his religious beliefs.” In fact some of the commissioners “disparaged Phillips’ faith as despicable” and “compared his invocation of his sincerely held religious beliefs to defenses of slavery and the Holocaust.” The “Colorado Civil Rights Commission considered this case, it did not do so with the religious neutrality that the Constitution requires.” In fact it was extremely happy to rule against him. A Government agency that was happy to disparage some one’s religious belief. Oddly enough, few suits have been filed against far-left businesses which refuse service to conservatives or supporters of the President. Like the coffee shop in Seattle that refused to do business with Christians.Catholic nuns’ attempt to get out of the Obamacare HHS preventive-care mandate, in which the Department of Health and Human Services required employers to provide insurance covering sterilization and birth control — including forms of birth control that prevent embryos from implanting in the uterus, thereby causing abortion.Catholic Charities and other faith-based adoption agencies have been forced to abandon their work simply because they want to place needy children only in homes with married moms and dads. The government calls that discrimination based on sexual orientation, even though same-sex couples would remain free and able to adopt from public agencies and other providers.Yet lawmakers aren’t just coercing agencies such as Catholic Charities; they’re punishing states for declining to coerce those agencies. When Texas passed a law protecting the freedom of such agencies, California barred state employees from traveling to Texas on “non-essential” official business.Religious schools adhering to the historic vision of marriage are also at risk. They stand to lose accreditation and nonprofit tax status as well as eligibility for student loans, vouchers, and education savings accounts.During Obergefell oral arguments, Justice Samuel Alito asked the solicitor general whether the state should yank tax exemptions for schools that uphold marriage as the union of man and woman. The solicitor general replied: “It’s certainly going to be an issue.” Right on cue, the Sunday after the Supreme Court’s ruling in Obergefell, the New York Times’ religion columnist wrote a piece for Time magazine titled “Now’s the Time to End Tax Exemptions for Religious Institutions.”Catholic hospitals are being sued. These lawsuits claim that, in declining to perform abortions, Catholic hospitals “use their religious identity to discriminate against, and harm, women.” (Catholic hospital’s refusal is not because of gender but its commitment to saving lives.)The ACLU has also sued Catholic hospitals for declining to perform sex-reassignment surgeries. A headline for a California NBC affiliate read: “ACLU sues Carmichael faith-based hospital for denying transgender man hysterectomy.” The hospital was being accused of discrimination based on gender identity. In reality the Hospital considers it an elective surgery and refuses to remove a healthy body part.Banning Christian Companies: There was talk both from Boston and Chicago about banning chick-fil-e: Alderman Joe Moreno, who represents Chicago's Logan Square neighborhood, plans to use his aldermanic privilege, a Chicago tradition in which City Council members defer to aldermen on local matters, to block the restaurant's permit. Boston Mayor Tom Menino told Chick-fil-A it isn't welcome in Boston because of the fast food chain's reputation for being anti-gay and he will personally try to block any and all permits. Universities have also banned Chick-fil-e from opening up franchises on campus.I could go on like in my parents friends neighborhood. They have been in their house for over 20 years and a few years ago their HOA decided to go Green during the months of Nov-Jan. No lights hanging from anyone’s houses. They banned all statues (safety) so no nativity scenes or Santa clause sleigh etc.. No hanging of wreathes or other decorations (eye sores). Another words they banned all Christmas decorations that could be scene from the street. That way their neighborhood doesn’t hurt anyone’s feelings.I still could go on. IS there attacks on Christianity like in other countries? No, not even close but I can see the attacks on religious liberties. Again just the fact that the Colorado Civil Rights commission was happy to deny the baker and for sure did not give him a fair shake, an event that even SCOTUS agrees with should be the answer right there.Truly I am not sure what the answer really is but I see the pendulum swinging more wildly first in one direction then the other then back even further. My fear is its going to go to such an extreme that it will get stuck there.
