We are not far from this, considering the penchant of easily triggered people whose knee-jerk reaction is to ban anything their delicate sensibilities find the slightest bit “”offensive”.America has a lot of banned books (from schools and libraries) that might surprise some people. They include:Mark Twain’s “The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn”“To Kill a Mockingbird”“The Great Gatsby”“Lord of the Flies”Steinbeck’s “Of Mice and Men”“The Color Purple”“Charlotte’s Web”“The Holy Bible”The “Harry Potter” seriesJD Salinger’s “Catcher in the Rye”Aldous Huxley’s “Brave New World”Milne’s “Winnie the Pooh”“James and the Giant Peach”“Anne Frank, the Diary of a Young Girl”“Alice in Wonderland”And of course, “The Wizard of Oz.”

The entire Ozzy camp has been a massive mystery to me, and I'm a lifelong fan. The live set list since Zakk Wylde joined the band has never made one bit of sense.Ozzy has such a deep back catalog of great songs, and live, him and his team never pick anything interesting. For one example, since Zakk's first album, No Rest for the Wicked (1989), Ozzy has chosen to completely ignore that record. In my humbled opinion, that record was in the top 4 solo records, and could be considered top 3, in terms of overall writing quality.Perry Mason? Mr. Tinkertrain? Road To Nowhere? These songs are overblown disasters, but have been played live consistently over amazing tracks like Miracle Man, Crazy Babies, Bloodbath in Paradise, The Ultimate Sin, Never, Fire in the Sky, Killer of Giants, Devil's Daughter, not to mention the killer songs from Diary of a Madman, like Flying High Again, Over The Mountain, and the title track.Who wouldn't want to hear You Can't Kill Rock and Roll live? Never happens.The thing that blows my mind the most is that Zakk was under contractual obligation to give team Osbourne first look at any song he wrote, which they had the option to use, before he was allowed to record them with his own band, Black Label Society.The songs Ozzy Osbourne has passed up that ended up on Black Label albums is paramount to career suicide; I can list 10 or 12 Zakk Wylde songs that would have made the most classic Ozzy album of all time, even greater than the Rhoads albums, and they rejected them. I can literally hear Ozzy singing them, and they would have been some of the biggest metal songs of all time.There is no logic. I feel Ozzy has not been relevant in the metal world since 1991, and he is riding on (his very powerful, highly regarded and esteemed) history.If I ever was in a position to ask, this would be the biggest question I'd have for old Oz; the how and why of his baffling underuse of Zakk's prolific output, as well as his complete rejection of a huge portion of his legendary recordings, including Diary of a Madman.It's so incredibly boring the way they have not capitalized on so much astounding material.
