Based on my limited understanding of market forces and job portals, my guess is that Machine Learning graduates' supply might match the demand by about 2020, and might exceed the demand after about 2030.Some important breakthroughs are needed for effectively and efficiently applying ML to Big Data.

I don't know. What I do know is that Microsoft has become a less popular destination for college graduates. 'Supply and Demand' logic would then imply that Microsoft is forced to either lower the bar, or lower the number of hires. I work at MS and I have not noticed the bar being lowered, but you can dismiss this as anecdotal. The latter (lowering the number of hires) is quite plausible given the recent job cuts.
