Living in Vegas after having lived in Southern California for 30 years and New York for 28, I have come to appreciate the dry air. Bicycling is more enjoyable than running or walking due to the increased airflow and cooling affect. I find that we tend to carry water everywhere we go, so drinking the requisite 8 glasses a day is no strain. The lightning storms are much more exciting than anywhere else. Weather is fairly localized - storms roll through and only impact a small area at a time. Flash floods are a problem. The lack of tall vegetation means that there are great vistas from just the smallest hill. Dust devils jump up and dance across the landscape with the slightest provocation from the wind. Car batteries only last a couple years. Have to be careful walking the dog during the hottest part of the day or their paws can get burned. But at least there are no fleas. Artificial grass is hotter than hell and not made for bare feet. Every room needs a ceiling fan. Leather car seats will burn your legs if your shorts aren't long enough. Steering wheels will burn your hands. Allergies are a bear. Palm trees are a pain in the butt to maintain and unless you want to put on climbing spurs, you will be paying for someone else to.
