So basically the way to keep the Earth warm without needed a sun would be to transform the planet to lead and heat the interior to 10000F.It is weird to think of lead as an insulator, but 100 Km of lead kind of is.PS This is where a page of wild mathematics and arm-waving estimates gets you. The surface would be a slightly cool room temperature and it would stay that way for many millions of years - because the outer layers of lead would a very good insulator.
