Go to community centers, ask parents you to recommend you or if they know of any parents needing a sitter, ask your school, ask your parents to tell their friends/coworkers that have kids. Ask family. If you babysit for your family you get experience and can offer a discount because they're family. Put yourself out there. Don’t expect results right away, but just keep putting yourself out there. Also, get CPR certified or take a babysitting class. It will help you seem better equipped to handle babysitting.

Some of the answers and some of the comments are just awful. Your daughter may not have understood that yes, you can get pregnant the first time. She may not have known that pre-ejaculation contains sperm that can get you pregnant. She may not have even started her periods yet, but had started ovulating and got pregnant. She was not old enough to consent to sex, but if the birth father is the same age, then I would not jeopardize his future by having him arrested for rape. If he was an older boy and does not step up to the plate to help support and raise the child, then I would let him know he will be taken to court for financial subsidy which could result in arrest for rape since your daughter was underage. Is there a birth father on the birth certificate? If not, then a paternity test will probably be requested by the birth father or his parents, if he’s a kid. The Court will require it.I would make your child (who just became legally of age to babysit) take a parenting class and babysitting class. Until those classes are completed, any care she gives the baby should be under your watchful eye. Your daughter needs to be on the depovera birth control shot, which lasts 3 years. You should have been more forthright with your discussions on sexual matters, but you definitely have to be more open now.Your daughter is your responsibility until she is 18. You are legally responsible for her actions. Her actions, whether forced or chosen by her, resulted in a baby being born. You are responsible for that child’s welfare. If you cannot or will not be responsible for that baby, then you need to have a very frank discussion with your daughter. Other options are to see if the birth father’s parents will take the baby or if your child wants to consider adoption.Anyone who says your daughter should get a job is being outlandish. The only jobs she can do at this age and if she is certified is babysitting. She could mow lawns, rake leaves, do some housekeeping, sweep porches, weed gardens, shovel snow, etc. Very few children make it in the acting/modeling world, so that is not really an option most likely. Any money your daughter earns should help go towards the needs of the baby. She should be required to take care of the baby two hours after school, help with dinner and dishes, give the baby baths and change it and rock it, put it to bed, all to give you a break, but under your watchful eye.Your daughter would probably qualify for WIC and foodstamps. You should help to look into that. Counseling would be a good idea. I know after pregnancy, her hormones will be on a roller coaster ride and she’ll need understanding. She also needs her sleep, to finish school, and support emotionally.Babies are precious and so are 13 year olds.*NOTE: Added later, for those who have said the Depovera shot is 3 months, I stand corrected. By the way, for what it’s worth, my 14 year old informed me that most high school kids have decided Sophmore year is the year to lose their virginity.
