WES stopped the assessment of PTU courses last year for a brief period of time and then finally started accepting PTU courses for assessment since December last year but with a caveat. This the specific instruction on WES site only for IGPTU.Specific instructions for submitting mark sheets for the I.K.Gujral Punjab Technical University.“Two steps:Ask I.K.Gujral Punjab Technical University to attest and send your mark sheets directly to WES in a sealed envelope that is signed or stamped across the back flap by the appropriate officialAnd2. Please log in at Support portal and apply for mark sheets to be posted online for verification.To complete the evaluation WES must be able to verify online the mark sheets received from IKGPTU. I have recently applied at PTU and I am providing the summary of my experience of this process. PTU is the only institution selected for this special treatment.Step 1 - Create a WES profile and make the payment etc and generate the Reference number. Once you have the reference number, download the academic request form from WES site. You can use this link - https://applications.wes.org/OnlineApp/pdf/International_Transcript_Request.pdfFill up the details of your PTU program. You can enter details in the PDF as it’s editable PDF. Get a print and sign it and then scan it.Step 2 - Over to the next challenge of navigating through one of the most student unfriendly sites. Support portalCreate an account there and add the courses that you took from PTU in your profile. I completed a Bachelor of Engineering degree from SLIET Longowal but PTU doesn’t have that in the list so I had to select B.Tech. How hard it can be for an institute to atleast know what degrees they have awarded in the past. PTU also offered a lateral entry stream of 3 year degree. Make your selection carefully. All the B.Techs have both normal as well as lateral entry stream.Step 3 - Once you create a profile then you have to raise a query and upload all your documents including the Academic request form. First make a selection on their home page of the purpose for which you need the documents. These are the options.Applying for WES/IQAS/ICES/CES & Other Foreign AgenciesApplying Without WES/IQAS/ICES/CES & Other Foreign AgenciesOriginal DocumentsDuplicate DocumentsYou can click on the options to get more details. I selected the option 1 for WES verification. Once you make this selection PTU, it provided further options -Transcript & Attestation of All DMC’s and Degree with Academic request Form (s) - Approx Rs. 3900/- for a 4 year degreeAttestation of DMC’s and Degree with Academic request Form (s) - Approx Rs. 3100/- for a 4 year degreeAttestation Degree only with Academic request Form (s) - Rs. 1700/-Attestation DMC’s only with Academic request Form (s) - Rs. 3100/- for a 4 year degreeTranscript with Academic request Form (s) - Rs. 2100/-PTU recommends to apply for option 1 where they will attest every document and will send it to WES. WES might not require every document as they only require Transcripts. But PTU has had several student complaints that WES didn’t positively verify their documents. So PTU is not taking any chances. But this comes at a cost.PTU Charges 1500 as postal charges, 600 for transcripts, 200 for each attestation. So option 1 for a 4 year degree course with 8 semester will be -Transcript = 600Transcript Attestation = 2008 DMCs = 200 * 8 = 1600Degree = 200 * 1 = 200Postal Charges = 1500Postal charges and Transcript charges are fixed.Once you pay the fees, PTU will take upto 10 working days to send your documents to WES. I am not sure if they provide a proof of postage. I will update this article once I get that.PTU will also upload your documents online on this portal - https://support.ptu.ac.in/docsverification.aspx for viewing. You can check the documents and can also share the link with WES in an email. WES is aware of this link so they can use it to verify the genuineness of your documents.If you identify a mistake in your document, you can take it up with PTU authorities by posting a comment in your request for document.I have applied recently following this 2 step process and still waiting for my documents.
