If you do nothing, but inform the landlord, or manager, that your lease expires on; m/d/y -stating that you won’t be renewing your lease, and that you intend to be completely moved out, by; m/d/y. Even though more superior, the Americans were shamed by the Chinese that prompted General MacArthur, the Supreme Commander of the Pacific, headquartered in Tokyo, to request President Harry Truman in 1951 to use the atomic bomb on China as the former could not accept the fact that the much more inferior Chinese army could rout his very much superior armed forces. President Truman rejected General MacArthur’s request and the president relieved MacArthur as Supreme Commander of the Pacific, which prematurely ended MacArthur’s military career. The Korean War ended in 1953 without a peace treaty, which effectively the North and South Korea are still at war.Now turning to the Chinese province of Taiwan, if the Taiwanese leaders declare independence China has wowed to use military force to unify the island with the motherland. The US has a defence treaty with Taiwan to come to the aid of Taiwan when she is being attacked. China is no longer the ‘Sick Man of Asia’ and her military forces are no longer inferior as in 1950s! If the US ever fight the Chinese over Taiwan, China may consider taking the war to the soil of the US with nuclear weapons. President Xi Jinping had a few years ago changed the Chinese stance of not using nuclear weapon first in a war.The Chinese mean it! The Chinese can play along, but don’t provoke too far!Taking the case of Hong Kong, in 1954 Lord Mountbatten demanded that China must extend the 100-year lease of Hong Kong to the British for another 100 years. As China’s army was more inferior to the British, China chose to keep quiet. But the Chinese citizens back home protested at the British Embassy in Beijing over the extension demand. The Chinese leaders ate the humble pie! The following day, premier Chou Enlai sent a Letter of Apology to the British to ask for forgiveness over the Chinese citizens’ misbehaviour at the Embassy. And stated that it was still premature to discuss about the future of Hong Kong. China developed and tested successfully her first atomic bomb in 1964. In 1978, under the leadership of Deng Xiaoping, she started to modernise initially with the help of overseas Chinese. In many areas, China is now far superior than any western countries. In 1982, the British prime minister, Margaret Thacher flew to Beijing to discuss the extension of the Hong Kong 100-year lease. Deng Xiaoping told Margaret Thacher that the return of Hong Kong to China is not negotiable and must be returned on July 1, 1997! Deng Xiaoping went on to say if the British refuses to return Hong Kong to China, China will use her navy to blockade Hong Kong! The rest thereafter is history.China has been humiliated by foreign forces.
