CA exam's answer sheets are checked in very careless manner.The people who apply for checking are mainly working careless CA professionals in service and practice.Checking consist of 2 stages.1. Numbers are alloted by the principal Examiner who get ₹100 for each answer sheets.2. Totalling and verification of Allotment of numbers are done by the checker who gets ₹25 for each.Since working CAs do not have much time for checking so these checkings are done by their Article Assistants and family members.The CA instructs his family members and Article assistants how to allot marks.2 years ago, I was checking answers sheets as a checker. I found an Msc housewife of a CA was checking the answer sheets. Thereafter I realised a CS failed housewife of younger brother of that CA was also checking the answer sheets. I was flabbergasted!That day I knew, why I got lesser marks in Income Tax, ISCA and other subjects notwithstanding I cracked the whole paper.But I controlled myself because I feel that my knowledge and databases are my real assets and no one is so much competent that he or she can allot the numbers on them.See - The Answer Sheets of most intelligent and hard working students are checked by the most incompetent and dullard people.Complaining to ICAI won't work. I tried.Exception:- There are around 20% CAs who are really serious about checkings and they are not indulged in such stuffs.New edits.

As a ca student and as per my understandingVERIFICATION:it can be defined as test of existence.whether a transaction is real or ficticious.VOUCHING:it can be defined as test of accuracy and validity.whether the amount actually involved is overstated or understated.VALUATION:this can be defined as a test to determine worth of any asset or liabilityFor example: lets take a company named X .it had recently purchased a machinery worth 500000 from a supplier Y, invoice was issued and payment was made. So from this transaction we will try to understand the above 3 concepts.Vouching: here the auditor checks whether the books of accounts show this transaction appropriately by recording machinery with value of 500000 and checking the pass book with corresponding invoice.Verification: books of accounts show that company spent 500000 in purchasing a machinery.but auditor has to know that is for machinery itself. So he does verification of asset that means he goes to location and satisfies himself that 500000 was incurred to purchase this asset.Valuation:we know that non current assets are subject to depreciation .so at the year ending some part of 500000 should be deducted,as we have used it for production.due to wear and tear value of it shall diminish. So auditor finds out whether the valuation of that asset is done properly or not .by checking the accounting policies adopted by management(rate of dep,method of dep etc).Hope this helps
