First, you need to obtain trainee license. So, you have to take classes and pass a test. After getting your trainee license, you'll need to find an appraiser, who can be your mentor and will teach the tricks of the trade. You can gain some experience in appraisal work. For instance, start with ‘office junior’ position. And only then you can prepare to obtain your normal license.
