It is valuable to employers to have a least one licensed engineer on staff who can review, sign/stamp and submit permit applications for new construction or plant modifications.There is currently a clause called “the industrial exemption” that sometimes allows plants to submit permit applications without a licensed PE sign/stamp, but this seems to be going away.I am an electrical engineer and have been licensed since 1992, and it has served me well.Good Luck!
