Is Trump right to call the Democrats "the do nothing party"?

Hello!I know this one for you…Unsurprisingly, Trump’s way off, again! Republicans have concocted a message of their own that they repeat endlessly: Do-nothing congressional Democrats have failed to work across the aisle or to generate any useful legislation since Trump arrived at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. This flat-out fabrication is no surprise coming from the man of 15,000 lies and his evil, Republican toadies. And, as disinformation specialists know so well, repeat a lie often enough and a certain portion of the populace will believe it’s true. You can fool some of the people all of the time, and that obviously can be enough to achieve whatever scheme you have in mind. Saying Democrats have not done anything can act like an ad jingle, permanently engraving BS on the brain of fooled people. But as always, I’ll provide you the facts and figures. Below is a linked list of bills the House had passed as of Dec. 5, 283 of which Democrats call “bipartisan.” To get that label, a bill only requires a single vote from across the aisle, and a few of these bills only received one. But some received overwhelming Republican support in the House. This makes no difference to McConnell.Of the 383 bills that have been passed by the House, 82% are still bottled up in the Senate. This list does not include House resolutions. If you click here, you can see bills and resolutions that have passed the House and the Senate and become law, bills that have passed the House and the Senate and are awaiting action by the White House, and bills that have passed the House and are awaiting action in the Senate.LIST OF BILLS PASSED BY THE HOUSE AND AWAITING ACTION IN THE SENATESource: Search Bills in CongressExamples of Bipartisan House Bills Stalled in the Senate Include:H.R.5, Equality ActH.R.6, The American Dream and Promise ActH.R.7, Paycheck Fairness ActH.R.8, Bipartisan Background Checks ActH.R.9, Climate Action Now ActH.R.987, Protecting People With Pre-Existing Conditions/Lowering Drug CostsH.R.582, Raise The Wage ActH.R.397, Rehabilitation For Multiemployer Pensions Act (The Butch Lewis Act)H.R.1585, Violence Against Women Reauthorization ActH.R.1644, Save The Internet ActH.R 2722, Securing America’s Federal Elections (SAFE) ActH.R.2513, The Corporate Transparency ActH.R.1112, Enhanced Background ChecksH.R.1994, Secure Act/Gold Star Family Tax Relief ActH.R.205, 1146, 1941 – Banning Offshore Drilling on Atlantic, Pacific, Eastern Gulf & ANWR CoastsH.R.1423, Forced Arbitration Injustice Repeal (FAIR) ActMore than 30 bills to support veteransOther Examples of Bills Stalled in the Senate that Democrats Support:H.R.1, For The People ActH.R.4617, Stopping Harmful Interference in Elections for a Lasting Democracy (SHIELD) ActH.R.1500, Consumers First ActThe first 283 are “bipartisan.” The final 32 were supported by Democrats only.H.R. 648: Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2019 (10 Republican Votes)H.R. 21: Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2019 (7 Republican Votes)H.R. 2440: Full Utilization of the Harbor Maintenance Trust Fund Act (79 Republican votes)H.R. 693: U.S. Senator Joseph D. How do skills become a requirement for self-employment? What type of skills?

To be self-employed, you must essentially ‘do everything’ for yourself when you start. If you intend to hire or subcontract people to do any type of work for you, you must have enough knowledge and skills to assess whether a person is qualified and/or capable of doing that job, also whether the job is done correctly, completely, and in a time manner.Every business skill is critical but to varying degrees depending on what you intend to do for self-employment. You must learn how to communicate clearly and work smoothly with other people, which are combinations of many skills. I write only some important issues below.1. Learn how to be your own accountant and tax preparer. For every expense, there are at least two ways to report it in your accounts/bookkeeping, and there are at least 3 ways to report it on your taxes. Learn these options so you have a choice on how to report expenses. Learn the accounting and tax code for sole proprietorship, for when you start out with only yourself doing all the marketing and actual work. Also learn them for corporations so you can expand in the future.2. Learn the advantages and disadvantages of being a sole proprietor, LLC, partnership, S-corporation, and C-corporation. Also learn about business liability insurance for each of these types of entities. Ensure that the combination of your business entity and your liability insurance protects your home and your future personal income (e.g. if you later work for another company), including your spouse’s income.3. Learn how to troubleshoot and fix computer operating systems and computer hardware problems; learn to be your own IT Support person. When you start working for yourself, you won’t be able to pay other people to do this work for you, and no one will come “immediately” to fix your problem.4. Learn how to audit other people’s work. When you can afford to pay someone to do a job for you, you need to be able to review it and “know” that they have done their jobs correctly, completely, and in a timely manner. Be sure you can determine if your accountant is embezzeling funds, because I know two people who built a business, had several employees, then lost ALL of it because of one embezzelers. Both these people lost their personal homes. One lost her future income for several years.5. Write job descriptions, even when you are the only person working for yourself. Then review and revise those descriptions every three to six months to be more accurate with the detail of what you had to do. When you are ready to contract or hire someone to do a job, you need those details in writing so you can discuss them when interviewing people. They want to know what you expect. You want to know what you “can” expect from each individual.6. Expand your vocabulary constantly. When you speak with people, whether to give them feedback on their performance or to market yourself, you need to express yourself clearly.7. Create a plan for your own ongoing education. Ensure that you take at least one or two seminars or webinars per year, target at least 16 hours of education per year. Target at least one college or university course every five years. Remember, some courses are free online. (Consider how frequently you want to earn a new degree or certification.)8. Have a detailed business budget as well as a detailed personal budget for finances. Ensure that both your business and your personal budgets include some savings for emergencies or unexpected expenses. Review the budgets every two or three months, revise them as often as needed.9. Take the free business seminars offered by the Small Business Administration (SBA) and any local business association. Also, see if you can get a mentor from the SBA’s SCORE program.10. Learn how to learn. Teach yourself new skills as needed. When you start working from home, you may need to become your own plumber before you can afford to hire a plumber.11. Do not “expect” your closest family members and friends to try to take advantage of you, but be “prepared” for it to happen. The people who do NOT try to take advantage of you are truly your best family and friends, and they will be honest with you. If they want a favor or need help, they will ask you to your face instead of trying to deceive or manipulate you.12. When you work solely for yourself, with no other income, be prepared to work 60 hours a week for the first two years, and be prepared to work “bursts” of 60 hours in a week for another two or three years. If you want consistent income, you need to work extra. While you work in the final stage of one contract, you must market yourself to get your next contract. If you don’t market yourself before you finish the first contract, you may have several weeks with no income while you market yourself for the next contract. This requires a personal routine, adequate sleep, and focus on the business before entertainment on the weekends.13. Learn how to fix a coffee brewing machine (if you drink coffee).14. Learn how to estimate what you should charge for your services. A general way to equate a full-time job (i.e W2 employment) to a self-employed situation (i.e. 1099-Misc employment), consider this: If you are employed and earn $25 per hour, you should charge [($25 x 2) plus $10] per hour so you have approximately the same personal income. You must pay your own federal, state, and applicable local/city income taxes. You also need to pay estimated taxes quarterly.Suggestion: start doing business after you have saved enough money to pay for at least three months of personal expenses without employment elsewhere. Rationale: protect yourself in case your current employer fires you upon learning that you are trying to start your own business (which is critical if your business will be in the same industry).

This is a few of the Bills that Republicans are sitting on @Moscow Mitch desk. That was passed by a Democrat Congress.?

You know that trainload of hundreds of bills Senate Republicans have blocked? Here's a linked listMeteor Blades for Daily KosDaily Kos StaffThursday December 26, 2019Stupid is as Stupid does. Below.Hanging his head, but not in shame.RSSPUBLISHED TOMeteor BladesDaily KosTAGSCongressLegislationMitchMcConnelllistofbillsstalledbillsShare this article Twitter,Facebook, E-mailWhile impeachment understandably is getting most of the attention now, in our messaging to the nation Democrats should keep reminding the public that the attack on the Constitution did not begin when Divine Right Donald stepped into the Oval Office and plunked himself down in the big chair behind the big desk nearly three years ago. Nor did the effort to stomp most Democrat-introduced legislation begin on that dreadful day.Donald Trump was still a joke candidate when Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell decided to undermine the Constitution by refusing even to hold a hearing on President Barack Obama’s moderate choice of Merrick Garland to replace the late Antonin Scalia on the Supreme Court. And the presidency wasn’t even a gleam in Trump’s eye when McConnell, in 2009, before Obama was even sworn in, vowed to follow Rush Limbaugh’s implicit advice and try to force the new president to fail by blocking everything he tried to do. First up was stopping any legislation to soften the impacts and shorten the duration of the economic crash that had sent the economy into the most devastating economic downturn since the 1930s. Less than a handful of renegade Republicans was the only reason that recession-ameliorating legislation managed to clear the Senate. The blockade got worse when Republicans regained congressional control after the 2010 election. So what we have going on now, legislatively speaking, is not an aberration from the recent GOP norm, but rather an extremist extension of it. Republicans have concocted a message of their own that they repeat endlessly: Do-nothing congressional Democrats have failed to work across the aisle or to generate any useful legislation since Trump arrived at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. This flat-out fabrication is no surprise coming from the man of 15,000 lies or the likes of the Republican toadies on the House Judiciary and Intelligence committees who claim the impeachment inquiry is a hoax because Democrats failed to seek the testimony of witnesses with firsthand knowledge of Trump’s devious stratagem in Ukraine. This assertion totally ignores Ambassador Gordon Sondland’s and Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch’s testimony and the subpoenas the White House got more than a dozen witnesses to defy. Just as they ignore McConnell’s defiantly throwing up obstacles to all but the most innocuous legislation. But, as disinformation specialists know so well, repeat a lie often enough and a certain portion of the populace will believe it’s true. You can fool some of the people all of the time, and that obviously can be enough to achieve whatever scheme you have in mind. Saying Democrats have not done anything can act like an ad jingle, permanently engraving BS on the brain of fooled people.House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and a few other Democrats have taken public note of the Republican blockade:Nancy Pelosi✔@SpeakerPelosiHats off to @HouseDemWomen and the @HouseDPCC for marching over to the Senate today to demand Leader McConnell finally act on the more than 275 pieces of House-passed, bipartisan legislation collecting dust on his desk.
