How do I crack the NSEJS?
This answer may go long but if follow my advices it would be quite beneficial for youFirst of all let's start with the syllabus of NsejsDISCLAMER : NSEJS HAS NO DEFINED SYLLABUS and I am assuming that you are in standard Jee coaching .I will refer books based on the time left before nsejs 201XPhysicsIf you have 9 – 12 months leftRefer to the ' Sears and Zemansky University Physics ' for theory content it isn't very high level book but it's questions and theory prepares you for the latter .After completing it jump to DC Pandey you can read it's theory because after it nothing will be left in your theory section . It is highly recommended to attempt it's introductory exercises and specially Jee Mains section .After doing them you should also practice H C Verma and can also try it's objective questions for concept clarification and you can skip starting 5–10 questions from 'exercise' section as they are too easy and not worthy to spend timeNow you can also refer to nsejs past year papers and injso questions physicsIf you will do so no one can stop you from scoring 60/60 in physics .You should complete only Mechanics (except rotationial motion and COM ) you can take 30 days to complete full mechanics , Shm (not in depth, take 3–4 days along within questions , gravitation (except calculus part)3–4 days, wave motion and sound waves (medium level) 8–10 days as they are 2 chapters, “geometrical optics 5–6 days , current electricity ” ( complete chapter at high level ) 5–7 days . Electrostatic and magnetism ( basic theory level) 4–6 days .From depth I mean every mains question of DCP and full exercise of HCV . For Medium to basic level introductory exercises and few mains level questions of DCP and 60–75% HCV questions. If you have 7–5 months left you should increase your study hours and can leave advance level questions.ChemistryIf you have 9 – 12 months leftFor theory and mains (injso) level questions you must complete Essential Physical chemistry by Ranjeet Shahi . Complete Mole concept, equivalent concept (extension of mole concept) , atomic structure , nuclear chemistry ( remember it's concepts no need to practice it's questions ) after doing above chapters from Ranjeet Shahi practice mains level questions from ' Advance Problems in Physical Chemistry by neeraj Kumar .And remember physical chemistry has 75–90% weightage in nsejs and mole concept + equivalent concept has 65 - 80% of total chemistry in both exams so you can practice it's advance level questions too from Neeraj KumarIn inorganic and organic read full chemical bonding from Ranjeet Shahi and periodic properties , iupac nomenclature, hydrocarbon and isomerism from 11th or 12th ncertGive 4–6 days to each chapter to ensure full marks in chemistry .If you have 7–5 months levelIncrease your study hours and can skip questions from ONLY from Ranjeet Shahi if you don't have much time but Neeraj Kumar is mustDon't give more than 4-6 days in topics like atomic structure and nuclear chemistry and chemical bonding though they are interesting but mole and equivalents concept is more worthy to work on.BiologyFor EVERYONEStructural organisation in animals , Cell structure and function (can skip biomolecules), Full plant and human physiology from class 11th ncert .Reproduction (skip reproductive health) genetics and evolution , biology and human welfare ( can glance through it ), Ecology ( except last 2 chapters ) . From class 12 ncertGive 1–3 days to each chapter and try to remember each and every important line in from the chaptersStill can't assure full marks because they have very wide range of questions but if you have time refer to Campbell for important chapters but only after completing ncert.MathematicsCan't refer any particular books or chapters. But strong your geometry and number theory upto PRMO level only if you have 9–12 months .Rest should also practice good geometry and number theory level questions from 9 and 10th class package of your coaching (fiitjee in my case).Few YouTube channels I refer when I had doubt in a topicPhysicsWallah for chemistry and sometimes physics , teaches somewhat little greater or equivalent to nsejs level .Physics galaxy for physics he has good content and also gives explanation of tough problems .Neela bakore tutorials for biology , but only few time I watched her lectures as ncert is self explanatory .Often watched etoos lectures .Still can't assure full marks cause there math syllabus is the most messed up thing .Extra important advices other than syllabusDon't over hype or less hype the exam just ENJOY WHAT YOU STUDY.Don't waste time on topics like nuclear chemistry, atomic structure , electrostatic etc just to study them in great depth , do so while preparing for injso .Don't follow advices of anyone who says that ‘this year paper will be easy, focus on coaching tests, nsejs isn't of much importance focus in ntse , nsep ‘and yada yada.Work hard REGULARLY and study everything and specially important topics in details don't assume yourself that a particular topic is getting in detail and this much won't come in the nsejs . Nsejs 2018 was a straight punch to those thinkers.Expect toughest possible paper and don't expect the pattern going on from previous years.Practice previous year nsejs and injso papers after completing a topic .Keep calm on the D–Day .Spend 35–40% time on theory and rest on questions if you have time practice questions upto 70% of your time.Don't try to run with someone whom you admire or try to imitate them rather focus on what you are and master it , yeah you can admire and get motivated by them.Prepare for the worst of the worsts .PLEASE COMPLETE YOUR SYLLABUS IN TIME followed by point 4 & 2 .At least 1 month of revision of whole syllabus you have studied is required .Syllabus is too easy it's all about your temperament and attitude toward the exam .My Case ?I worked hard (real hard) as I had only 4 months left to complete the full course .But I didn't followed point 2,7,8,12 .I had to go off for 10 days to my grandfather's house as of his demise which ruined my flow and messed up my revision plan , situation were so worst that I had to skip full genetics (assuming that it won't come more than 1–2 questions but it covered whopping 35–45% of total biology part) and didn't complete full mole concept questions from above mentioned books rather focused on atomic structure and nuclear chemistry cause I had developed my interest in it knowing that it won't be of much usage , and not even a single question was from above 2 chapters . And I made an innumerable no. of mistakes in paper. And worst part I only attempted only 40 questions fearing the negative marking, when I checked at home that what would happen if I would have marked a single same option in all other 40 questions without even looking at questions , I found it that if I would have marked 'C' it would have gave me increase of 2 marks, 'B' gave of 8 marks , 'A' gave of freakin 12 marks . (In other exams I mark B in omr, but at this stage I feared) but only do this if you have left 25 % or more questions left unattempted .If I would have followed above disscused points and prevented those mistakes I would have scored 110+ marks thann my actual score of mere 46 ( as per answer keys ).P.S : So yeah that was all about nsejs and trust me if will follow my tips and be regular about them no one can stop you from being among top 50 rankers you can verify same from your teachers in your coaching .Best of luck !

I mentioned these two places because there you can find second hand books too which are cheap. Else you can always look up for books in Amazon.I provide you this list so you can yourself search for the books that would be best for you. Read reviews of these books in the physics forums or ask your seniors or your Professor.I used An introduction to Mechanics. This book is written by Daniel Kleppner and Robert J. Kolenkow, both were Associate Professor of Physics in MIT.The text was developed from a first-year course which the author's have taught for a number of years at the MIT.This book is very famous and is used in almost all major science universities in India like IISc , IISERs, IITs and the world alike.Even Richard Muller has recommend this book:Which physics textbook should I get now?Problems in the book are also developed over many years of classroom use. Answers are given to some problems; in others, a numerical "answer clue" is provided to allow the student to check his symbolic result.A few problems are straightforward but most require serious thought and effort. What you will love about this book is numerous worked examples throughout the text which will guide you as you develop your problem solving ability. If you love Special Theory Of Relativity, beside reading this book, I will advise you to buy or download from achieve the book:Space-time Physics, Edwin F. Taylor, John Archibald Wheeler, W.H.Freeman and Company. This will build your understanding of relativity with some good gedanken experiment (thought experiments). You can also read the last chapter , Electrodynamics and Relativity, from the book Introduction To Electrodynamics by David J. Griffiths which you will use in your second semester in the course.MATHEMATICAL PHYSICSThe important topics areCalculusVector AlgebraVector CalculusOrthogonal Curvilinear CoordinatesDirac Delta FunctionReference Books:Mathematical Methods for Physicists, G.B.Arfken, H.J.Weber, F.E.Harris,2013, 7th Edn., Elsevier. An introduction to ordinary differential equations, E.A. Bhunia, 2015, Oxford University PressAdvanced Engineering Mathematics, Erwin Kreyszig, 2008, Wiley India.I used Mathematical Methods for Physicists. This is a comprehensive book and its chapter ends with Additional Readings, where you can find a good list of books to dive deep into the text.If you want to follow this book, remember the author advice to work on the exercises until you are able to solve a reasonable fraction of them. You can use the same book in your Mathematical Physics 2 and Mathematical Physics 3 which you will read in your second year, in III and IV semesters respectively.I will also advice you to buy these three books also :Vector Analysis, M.R. Spiegel, McGraw-HillIntroduction to Electrodynamics, David J. Griffiths, PearsonDifferential Equations, George F. Simmons, Steven G. Krantz, McGraw Hill. The first book is very good for many solved problems and lot of practice questions in vector analysis. You might wonder what a book of Electrodynamics is doing here. You will use this book in your second semester and its first chapter is on Vector Analysis which gives you a good overview of the topic. You will also use the third book in your third semester and it also covers the differential equations portion of the first semester. So it is a good idea to buy these book in the first semester itself.Image source : My phone gallerySWEETDAY !
What are your bipolar mania stories?
I guess I’ve dinked around on Quora enough now to reach out and spread the wings of my stories in hopes that maybe some of what happened to me will resonate with something you may have come across in some of your experiences. On the day of my 33rd birthday, August 22nd, 2011, I got down on my knees to say a prayer with my AA sponsor and almost instantly heard thunder…I jumped up and exclaimed to him what I had heard and we both looked up to see an empty sky. I certainly cannot say now that I ever remember exactly WHEN the Bipolar Mania began, but my insidious creep into madness was subtle, and intriguing to those around me who watched it happen. Those of you around the last several years of this generation certainly remember the synthetic cannabinoids “spice” and the intensity of those who somehow survived it. I was, unfortunately enough, and unlucky enough to have befriended a couple a good ol’ boys through my work and through the murky underbelly of the so-called “Spice Trade”. I decided that to be a good friend and to possibly put myself in a position to have constant access to the chemical, that perhaps investing my student loans in the ever-exciting “Spice” industry was the young, Capitalist thing to do and subsequently loaned them both the bulk of my money.Ah, Spice. Now, this shit is bad. Whatever you read, it’s probably true. For a short while, it actually became a serious threat to the public health. You would hear of the homeless nodding off in the street, almost like a heroin user; complete state of panic and terror; young teens buying the drug from the local convenience store (how convenient) and dying, usually leaving confused parents trying to figure out just what this “Spice” was doing. The only thing I remember about the last time I smoked “Spice” was that I sprinkled the actual compound “JWH-80” on to the “Spice” itself…most everything after that seems like a chapter from Stephen King’s “Nightmares and Dreamscapes”.When I stepped out my front door to go for a walk across town, it was a cool, September evening and I just KNEW I had a spiritual purpose. I was in pretty good shape, lately, having lost considerable weight and not having an automobile lends to this. I headed west, walking slowly at first, absorbing through my senses, every sight and sound, the smell of the crisp, autumn air flowing into me and my brain flooding with dopamine from the exercise and from the memory of what it was like going to church every Sunday as a little boy. On one of the numbered streets I came across a small sparrow, having fallen from its nest in the streetlight. I picked up the bird and immediately began to give it mouth-to-beak breathing exercises while gently, with my thumb against its tiny breast, pressed in small, intermittent strokes to imitate CPR. I don’t know if I consciously knew that the bird was already dead, but I just couldn’t believe that I couldn’t save it…Enter Here: Full-Blown, Psychotic, Delusional ManiaMy first name, Matthew, in the Hebrew text, means “Gift of God”, and my mother, no doubt, thought that indeed I was, just that. A gift. I was raised in the Baptist Church and did well until I discovered two things, and in this order: 1.) God Hates Homosexuals 2.) I am Homosexual. So now, I was stuck trying to reconcile my love for Jesus while trying not to piss off His Dad too much who, I found ironic, was also said Creator of the gay kid who couldn’t understand why it was so wrong to be gay. Needless to say, my years into puberty were dark and lonely and everything I did to stave that off usually resulted in being diagnosed with some form of mental illness or another, only exacerbated by a future of drug usage (mostly psycho-stimulants) and my inevitable descent into insanity, resultant from shitty counseling and failure to refer. So, here goes…This is what I can remember…I was holding that damn bird when someone suggested that if a human hospital could save a human life, than it was plausible that they could also save the life of a sparrow. So, I got in the police car. When we got to the hospital, the kind police officer asked me if it were okay that he take the bird in through the Emergency entrance and I insisted that Yes! that is a Wonderful suggestion! As I was led away to begin my mental health triage, I turned in time to see him snap the bird’s neck and toss it into the bushes. I cried. I was taken into Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center where I was given a large dose of sedatives, Lorazepam and Halodol, and once awoke, realized I had been strapped down in the back of an ambulance and was being transported to Intermountain Hospital in Boise, Idaho. I spent two weeks in this state-of-the-art facility, honing the skills of what would become my future state of mind and being: the reincarnated Savior, Jesus Christ.Once released from the hospital, I was given bus fare and traveled back to Idaho Falls, where everything had begun. I was attending Idaho State University, majoring in English and Political Science and living off the remains of my student loans. I was living with my aunt and spending A LOT of time awake. I would only sleep for a maybe an hour or two and was totally clean and sober. The important thing to remember at this point is that I had no contacts and no glasses so I was considered to be “legally blind” without them. Everything was blurry so I had to use my ears and my nose to determine who I was talking to and what was happening in my environment. I would go to my Math 101 class and sit either on the front row with boundless energy, answering every question almost instantly, or on the back row, using Reverse Calculus to solve simple algebraic equations…it was interesting because I always sucked at math, but now, almost magically, I could produce loud answers to the professor’s questions before they were actually finished asking the question…I would race across the hall after Math to Music 101 and sit in the middle on the second row. I could sing better than I ever had. I could play the guitar like I had played for twenty years even though it had only been a few. I could turn on the music in the room and play along on the piano like fucking Elton John…I knew something incredible was Coming…I just didn’t know the magnitude of the quake…One morning I arrived at the school in time to witness all the students running outside and the fire alarm blaring endlessly in the distance. I dropped my books and raced inside to kick down doors and chase down hallways, looking for persons still trapped in what I was convinced was a towering inferno. I blocked out the shrill and deafening alarm as I ran up and down staircases and ran through rooms seeking to find anyone…they had to send people in to get me because I couldn’t tell that it was a drill. I could only hear that siren, and I could only think: SAVE them.At this point, the Dean of Students decided that it was time to intervene and called my parole officer who showed up the following morning, in the Dean’s office, and politely placed me in cuffs, while I was bawling, all the while explaining that I wasn’t in trouble, that they were just doing their job and this was what was for the best. They transported me to the Bonneville County Jail and here’s where the shit really hits the proverbial fan…by now I had reached a state of blissful, euphoric Mania, and because of my psychosis began to have Delusions of Grandeur. I slowly started to believe that something was at work here, some once thought imaginary power was settling in and I was transmogrifying in to the essence of the very purest form of Love and Light, the Prince of Peace, the actually, living, breathing, Christian Being, the reincarnated in 2011, the Son of God…Because my Mania was so unpredictable, e.g, being friendly, “I am here to SAVE you, gay, Euphoric-Jesus”, all the way down the scale to, “I am here to KILL you, gay, Dysphoric-Jesus”, I had to be under 24 hour a day surveillance. I was placed in a small holding cell in front of booking, on display for all to see and the hallucinations began to take hold almost immediately. At this point, I had remained awake for 19 days straight (no shit, it sounds even crazy to me, but it’s documented) and would spit on the windows of my cell because I believed that my spittle would crystallize into Methamphetamines, which of course, My Father had given me authority over to aid Me in My Quest. I would sing, for hours and hours, loudly and what I certainly thought was on-key. Every song that came over the booking radio I knew and I would just sing and sing. And never sleep. And exercise. And eat voraciously. And masturbate…always masturbating. And then came Halloween…I began the morning of October 31st, 2011, getting in a fight with another inmate in a Special Housing pod that they had, unsuccessfully, tried to house me in. I was brought back up front to booking where I was placed in a cell that was then covered by a sheet and as the day progressed and I could see nothing, only hear EVERYTHING, the psychosis started to take hold. The sheet over the cell door had been removed and I was suddenly staring into the Command Center of an Imperial Star Destroyer, realizing that I was in control of the Empire from the original “Star Wars” trilogy. From here I would get loud and physically aggressive when the Stormtroopers would appear to not follow my commands and the sheet would be placed over my cell window once more. I then began to sing again and this time I directed the lyrics of “Simple Man” by Lynyrd Skynyrd to the four manifestations of the characters played by Logan Lerman, you know, the kid from “Percy Jackson”? I noticed from the corner of the sheet that Taylor Lautner, from the “Twilight” saga, was be-boppin’ to my music and then the sheet came down for good. This time, it became a sort of Rob Zombie-esque, haunted house, theme-park ride and I was in the shit deep. Santa Clause stopped by. As did Raggedy Ann and Andy. Tom Savini, the make-up guy from the eighties, walked by with an ax in his shoulder and gave me the thumbs-up. A werewolf sat in the Captain’s chair behind the desk and adjusted the radio as per my requests. The night went on and on and suddenly it ended, with what I thought was the ultimate gag-gift: the release of every single prisoner in the Bonneville County Jail, except Me…and finally, sleep. That evil purveyor of man. Sleep. But not for long. When I awoke, I was being handcuffed and placed into a State vehicle with two armed, State Parole Officers, and being transported to the Idaho State Maximum Security Institution in the desert of Kuna, Idaho. I was taken immediately to B-Block, which was the secure mental health wing of the prison. At first, I was allowed nothing except food, so I would save my sugar and do lines of it while masturbating with the gravel I would find in the walls where electrical outlets had once been. I had switched the never-ending radio which was my mouth to Country Music and the Thunder would Roll, no pun intended, for day after day and night after night until I finally agreed to start taking their medication and I would then receive a book. The words in the books would appear to me as computer codes and reading them was like the beginning of the “Matrix”. By now, I had begun to study the Bible and could see how everything that had ever happened had led to this moment: the medication of Matthew T. Sanford, the reincarnated Jewish God.I remember quite distinctly conversations I had with the members of Pink Floyd who later turned out to be my nursing team. Elton John was my treatment team security officer who would check in from time to time and, occasionally, when I would be extracted from my cell by the CERT, and taken to medical, the raps I would have with Eminem and Dr. Dre, who were assigned to look after me while on suicide watch. After 18 months of medication and therapy, I was finally deemed “well” enough to be released back on to parole and in fact I was, on 12/12/12/ at 12:12:12 p.m., I walked out of the penitentiary to the streets of Boise, Idaho, to begin my journey to become the Savior. The State paid for thirty days at a motel and I would spend all my time away from that place, wandering the streets of Boise, praying with and telling all whom I met that Yes, they had actually just stumbled across the greatest secret in the history of man, a Secret I held and only I could redeem. I would use the birds to guide me from one place to another. I would commune with geese, and elk, and deer, who would seem to flock to my presence. Everywhere I went, small children would laugh and giggle; I would simply walk past an argument and those fighting would suddenly start to smile and forgive each other. I would walk into a room or a business and everyone would stop, notice, and immediately gravitate to me. I could and would speak to anyone and everyone. I would pray loudly and quietly. I needed no sleep and very little food and I was doing the Lord’s work until I went to check in with my Parole Officer, who promptly arrested me and failed to see the importance of the work I was doing as Jesus. I returned to prison on 02/01/13, exactly 50 days later, and wasn’t released again until 11/14/16, no longer in a state of drug-induced, psychotic, delusional Mania…and sadly, no longer, Jesus Christ. This is the only example of Mania I have ever experienced but it was a doozy. I have had other bouts of hypomanic behavior, and certainly displayed temporary moments of what could be described as “manic” but nothing like this has occurred since even though I have twice attempted to induce full-blown mania. This was, as you can imagine, some scary shit to go through. And to remember with such vivid detail. To come through it certainly endowed me with some intense experiences that I can share but it is my sacred hope that if anyone finds this post, reads it, and walks away thinking: “Oh my God, I’m not the only one to have ever lost it; I’m not the only one to have had psychosis, and delusions, and hallucinations, and drug addiction, and internalized homophobia, and Bipolar Mania!”If that happens and at least one person decides not to give up and pull that Goddamn trigger…then the two hours it took to write this and all the terrible pain it drudged up writing it, was WORTH it.Take better care of yourself. Sleep better. Eat better. Exercise more often. Take medication if it is helpful. Tell those you love that you love them. And if nothing is working, trying hitting the buttons on your knees, the ones that are activated in your darkest hours…the ones that open the portal to the REAL Jesus, the kinda guy I had always hoped to be like…Much Love and Always PrayersMTS
