Thomas Jefferson, my soulcat, along with his siblings Betsy Ross and Tom Cruise, were born to a feral mom on a stormy Fourth of July, 1994, in a cat shelter volunteer's back yard. The volunteer picked up the whole family and took them to the shelter. The mom later ended up on a farm in Wisconsin, and both Betsy and Tom were adopted as kittens. Time went by. He loved napping in our over-sized velour recliner.Throughout his lifetime, he remained a pushy, bossy, skinny tan cat (probably part Abyssinian) who always has something to “say” about something--and who could jump from chair to cat condo to the top of the computer table in order to walk along the tops of the drapery rods and use his tail to whisk away any cobwebs in the corners.* * * * * * * * * *March 5, 2009Thomas had a good morning this morning. Would Thomas want to continue to exist mostly just as a wheezing lump curled up on a chair and not being his usual feisty and very active self? "The players are told what to do, what to wear, what to eat, where to be at what time," Blucher says. "They don't have to make too many decisions." They don't have to confront many problems, either. "The greatest calamity, after getting out for a duck or dropping an important catch at first slip, is when they get to a hotel and they can't get on the Wi-Fi."Tony Lewis, the former Cricket NSW manager who organised Smith's brief stint as a kitchen hand, is now chief executive of Tasman Rugby Union in New Zealand. Among reptiles, the marsh crocodile, monitor lizard, rock python and several other species are found here. Other mammals includes the common langur, bonnet macaque, jungle cat, slender loris, leopard-cat, civet cat, mongoose, common otter, giant flying squirrel, giant squirrel, porcupine, jackal, mouse-deer, hare and pangolin. People who don't ever read books, comes to these places and fall in love with them.Blossoms still stands tall and thrives well inspite of the massive Online and digital invention while bookstores keeps shutting down.Select Book Store on MG rd is still run by the 90 yr old K N S Murthy.The history of these bookstores are only surviving because of the booklovers which sadly is diminishing a lot. From Chintamani, Kaigal, Kotilingeshwara, Kolar Gold Field, to Avani, Antarganga and Budikota… there is a lot to see in this Bangalore adjacent district that many have no idea about.The one and only CCD serving Kolar Expressway is located on a picturistiq backdrop. Watching late night live sports match on the large screen while sipping coffee with your friend is an awesome memory, During big time late night matches, you will find this CCD jam packed with Engineering, Medical and Dental students of the district Govt College here.I saw MS Dhoni and company lift the World Cup right in this cafe.*Kolar Expressway's iconic CCD.*Nice RdSimply watched the last show at Rex and spent half the night looking at the crowds of Brigade and MG Rd.On a weekend, a tummy spa at Corner House gulping a tub of “Death By chocolate” at Corner House , MG Rd and then drop for a last show of a movie at Rex followed by a full dinner at Paramount is my ultimate go to choice every time. The crowds are complex mix of various categories that are fun to observe and think about.Brigade Rd in itself is an entirely different world.. but late at night on weekends its all a completely 360degree opposite.. Dark, Bold and Slightly on the dangerous edge.Not an option if you are alone.*The best sellers of Corner House Franchise.Cheer and enjoy Illegal Bike racing and stunts.Street Racing is Illegal. But if you ever get a chance to see these death loving guys doing stunts , do see. The modifications on the bikes are just awe worthy and just stunningly expensive too.Many believe after Mumbai, it is Bangalore that hosts some real death defying Bike Racing. I won't support it but.. they are really something mind numbing to watch live in action..Always tried out Random experimentsOne place I loved and went to was Chikpet Sunday Market. To me that place is equivalent to going on treasure hunt. Second hand goods and stuffs are sold on both side of the street. In my 12 yrs I bought a small whirlpool mini fridge, 2cupboards, an used bajaj grinder, a induction cooktop of no name and even an empty 5ltr gas cylinder (at 100INR!!) Among many other odd stuffs. Believe me it was worth it. In fact the mixer grinder and fridge still works.*Sunday Market, ChikpetChor Bazaar nearby also is a nice stomping ground for mobile phones. I bought a second hand waterproof Sony headgear and it lasted 6yrs before finally dieing.Bengaluru may be really harsh or even irritating and tiring sometimes but there is lots to do and see here and yet not be bored or remain unsatisfied..I haven't even told about Bull Temple or Lalbagh or Cubbon Park, Avenue rd, Meenakshi temple, Endless number of malls etc..Each turns and each one ways has something new to offer.. Be it something to eat or something to see..You will be surprised at number of workshops and classes held in the city from Pottery and Clay art to Shooting and Archery or Drama and Mime Acts to Woodwork and Hackathons.Siri, Alexa and Google Assistant might not always know these facts.. If you really want to know, Step out of your assumptions and find out. You will be surprised!*Cubbon Park*City Market flower market*the emblem of Bengaluru MTRThis mega city might be the next silicon valley but it still has a lot of beautiful old world charms that blends perfectly with the new tech culture.After 12 yrs of testing and experimenting one or the other activities every once in a while made me see this city in a new light every time..Believe me .. There is something for one and all in this city..Yes, the list of changes in this city is endless. I have seen them with my own eyes..I saw the demolition of Plaza Theatre to make way for the current M.G Rd metro station.I have seen the Airport shift from Indira Nagar to DevanahalliI saw new extensions like CV Raman Nagar and Domlur that was never was a part of the old city. The only thing that existed outside Bangalore then was the Madivala MarketI saw how CTR changed to Shree SagarThe taste of the Caramel Pudding at the first ever branch of Corner House, Airlines Hotel is no more the same in spite of over 20 branches all over the city.Coffee House loosing its charm after relocating from its iconic location at MG rdYes there was a lake once upon a time at Malleshwaram too and a big one.Still, the city keeps trying on and on to remember and retain a bit of its old and nostalgic identity..It isn't as bad as many may think.
